HTC U11 Solar Red Unboxing! By GarnerReviews

Everyone welcome back to garner reviews, and today we're going to be doing something I'm just super psyched about this is going to be my very first unboxing video, and we've got the HTC. U 11 here and a full disclosure just right up front here, a little of an HTC fanboy, but you know you like it. You like it, and this is gonna- be a lot of fun. So this is an HTC. U 11! It's in the solar red color, which, from everything I found online, looks super nice. It was a maybe a little flashy for my taste normally, but I decided to roll with it and give it a shot.

This is kind of a new thing for HTC this year. These colors and everything, so we're going to jump right into it and bust into this box and see what kind of joy awaits me inside so move this prop out before anyone sees that so here's, the box and I don't know if you guys have ever seen an HTC phone box in the past, but I there's something about their boxes. Even they do a perfect job. It feels premium, you know it's just it's just cardboard, but it looks apart, so we'll bust off the knife here to take out this. Okay, we're gonna.

Do this carefully one two: three, no okay, just kidding I thought about it, but my luck that phone would be right there. So we'll just do this as precisely as possible. Little nerve-racking, okay enough getting around time to get serious time to get okay, the magic the moment wow, I'm digging it that's big. It seems quite a bit. Bigger than I was expecting I.

Don't know the box is big. I'll, I wasn't expecting this phone to be that big, but yeah so obviously got the standard wall plug here. All their stuff now is I shouldn't, say all of it, but their newest flagship is obviously it's a quick charge 3.0. So there's your charger for that. Here's, the is actually the included, looks like the USB see headphones.

I'm assuming well here, see if I can show you guys a little better. So you got some yeah different earbuds in there, and they've included this because they have removed the headphone jack in there and I know for a lot of people. That's a bummer of a move, and I'm kind of feeling the same way, I kind of like the whole headphone jack, but I'm going to give these a shot and see how it goes a know at least they're thoughtful they've included a set to get you started. I also think they include. So here's the extra well I, don't even know what they call these things like little replaceable earpieces.

If you got giant ears like I, do, so that's nice to know so then you, okay, there's your cord wall charging, all USB, which is actually I've loved I'm, actually using right now the HTC 10, and it was my first jump into USB type-c I'm, loving it the whole reverse. You know there's no right or wrong way to throw it in to the phone. So that's super nice, and I'm gonna actually set this down because I don't trust my hands. Let's do this! So that's nice! That's really! Nice MMM, Wow! Okay! We ran to unwrap this and look at these colors. That is a nice looking red that is super sweet, I hope I can get this all in the camera.

Well, because that kind of going gold- oh boy, Oh, Teddy whew, that is pretty flashy- that's pretty flashy, okay, sweet! So when I carefully hold this in one hand and see if okay pull this bad boy, how else do they get in here? God know something about labels and whatnot, not sure what that is. Stick that to the side- and this is really cool, so they give you a nice little case that comes with it. I'll pull that out here say: I'm actually set the phone down right here right, they know what's out now. Obviously this isn't like a super high-end case. It's just a really basic hard plastic.

It's clear, but the way I look at it. Furthermore, it probably I can't tell if that's like scratches in it or what the deal is, but anyway, the way I look at it is. You know if you're a case person anyways, sometimes when you get these phones fairly new. You know it takes case companies awhile to get them out there, especially when you're picking up something that it's maybe not as mainstream as an HTC. It can take a little time so the fact that they included something like this that you can put on the phone from day one keep it more protected than without.

Obviously, until you can get something that you like you know, it's a nice touch in it is you know, I feel like it's its worthwhile, so don't like it seem to be something here. I, don't want to use all the time and also set that up here and that nice pile this is cool too, and I feel like if this is the direction that smartphones are going to go this. These types of little add-ons are kind of necessary, but this is a USB to 3.5 jack, and so, if you got headphones, you know you can still use them. It's kind of annoying that you got this little dongle type thing. You know extra addition, but at least it's there.

If you want to use it and I mean it is what it isn't given, given that it's gone I guess that's a little necessary, but so you got your little tool there, so you can eject same guards and micros I. Suppose that's a cleaning cloth which, from what I've heard, is pretty much necessary because the back of these gets printed up. Really quick, so I'm, just gonna kind of set all this back in here and maybe make a little of room haha. Okay, now for the main future, so I don't want to do this without dropping it. Okay, I think I start from the back I think that's right! Mister, Donna, okay, maybe not ten percent smarter than the packaging darn it that's the bear thing if I spend like two or three minutes trying to get this open on camera like 3?m taped.

It though oh maybe I just get the knife and start hacking at it. What seriously I open this hmm, maybe I'll have to kill the camera and figure this out totally embarrassing. That is so, so shiny. Look at you! Can you see outside? Oh, you can Wow. Oh, that's me! Oh gosh, okay, oh dang, look at that, though you see everything happy care for it, flashes thing that is nice looking nothing that is to feel like this is just super thin.

Maybe it's not but I'll. Look at it from this angle. It's kind of it's going golden, and I've heard that that's. That was what you're going to get in different lighting. It was gonna kind of shift from red to gold, and you can definitely see it.

I don't know if it shows up on the camera very well, but it's almost like, and it's hard to do just play with that and figure. Oh, there we go. Look, look at that, and I could shave in their holy cow. Oh, you almost have to go like sideways. Look at it by just about sideways, and it goes gold yeah super nice, but I've already got like fingerprints on it and yeah.

So that's kind of too bad, it's nice as it is that you're going to get all smudged up with fingerprints but yeah, so I'm, assuming your power button here, volume rocker clean on this side. It's your little antennae bands here and here and your little I'm assuming this is your sim, an SD card port here, so super-clean there's your one USB see, and then I think this is a speaker. So it's pretty cool yeah fingerprint scanner looks like you got the big. You know that little at the top and bottom here I don't know some people, don't care for them right. It really doesn't bother me one way or another.

So it's a power, this bad boy along ooh. This is exciting. HTC, MMM, I'm in love, no I'm just kidding but I, know I must, and I'm definitely an HTC guy love their products in the past, I eat started out with a and m8 skipped the m9 and sounds like that was a good move right now. I'm using a m10 I'll, actually pull it up here in a second, so you guys can kind of see some size, differences and stuff and I love the m10 phenomenal phone, and then they kind of made this jump to this glass back with these colors and everything and look at those smudges, ah anyways, so kind of jumped from the aluminum builds, which is kind of what they were known for, and now they're into this glass, and it fills I mean you're still getting that HTC feel that premium build quality. You know it's just the aluminum edge here looks great everything, looks really nice and tight.

It just feels like it's a very nice and well-built phone, but definitely with that glass back you're losing that durability of the aluminum and for better or worse. Obviously, this is great looking you know, and they have some different colors, but you're definitely going to lose that so yeah nice looking screen, it's big seems. Actually, this I think it's going to be a great opportunity just to pull up the old watch m10. So you can kind of see here just do this, and so definitely the device is a little bigger. You can kind of see it at the top.

There bottoms are lined up if you're getting a little more screen with it too. So I can dig that and yeah, let's see, seems pretty nice seems pretty bright. So I should find like a more comparable screen like two images that are the same, but obviously I'm sure that they've upgraded most specs like they do every year. So this rocking the Snapdragon I think it's 8:35 now is with the call in it. Um I believe it was four gigs of RAM I think he says on the back of the box, which I before I started spouting off incorrect specs mm yeah, Snapdragon 835 5.5 inch, quad, HD, Gorilla, Glass, yeah, four gigs ram yeah, oh, and that was the other cool things. So it sounds like this year.

HTC's really stepped up the whole camera performance and then the unique thing with this phone is they've introduced, something called edge, sense, and I'm. Sure, if you look on YouTube, and I'll, try and do this down the road here after maybe like a week at you, thoughts just kind of go back in and tell you what I'm thinking about this phone, but basically they've built in proximity, sensors, I think it's in that lower half section I, don't think it's the whole side, but basically, if you're grabbing the phone, and you squeeze it, it detects the squeeze, and you're not actually like you're, not bending the phone or anything. It's just picking up the pressure there and if it's a shortcut. So you could have a shortcut into like a camera. You could do different apps.

Anything like that Google, you know and so really just kind of handy shortcut. Instead of doing like some sort of button, you know which I mean that's great too, but kind of new idea and I, don't know we'll see if it sells we'll see how often like I remember to actually use it, but overall I think you know it's great to see someone going out and doing something. A little different I mean it's easy to just kind of fall back into the let's just increase the specs every year you know just kind of the standard stuff. Let's try to make the screen brighter and all this stuff clear. That's great! No, but you know, and then you know, student colors you have it I mean that's, that's all good stuff, but you know, new ideas are always welcome and anything that's kind of like a quick shortcut or a way to speed up things or and because it is Android a way to make it fill like your own and personalized.

Custom is always a good thing in my book, so we'll definitely be giving that a go, and we'll see how that goes. So let me just run through try not to I'm down in the video with too much here. Hmm, don't really want you guys, seeing my password cancel I'm just kidding, but anyway, so yeah I mean that's the HTC. U 11 and man that did get fingerprinted like mad and a super bummer I, don't know, maybe like an um. What's the word I'm looking for like some sort of protector on the back since it clear I, don't know like D Brown if they make something clear or something that you could put over, so you can still see the color get that cool effect that gold effect going.

You know, but something to kind of stop that whole fingerprint madness, then again, because this is a glass thing. I'm probably going to stick a case on it. I put a case on my m10, and it looks it's in phenomenal shape now, but you know and that's definitely you got the durable back on the m10. You aluminum solid body, so I don't know I. Think HTC is going the right way.

I'm super excited to give this a shot, probably kind of thing and maybe go like a week or something and then give you guys. My thoughts, then and kind of say, I'm, just gonna use this as a daily driver. Obviously the software experience is probably going to be pretty similar to what I'm used to, but the edge sense, the camera and then just a few of the other things overall. I'll be kind of going over that and seeing what I think so yeah man. This is super exciting you guys it's a nice looking phone and first unboxing video in 12, Oakley, yeah, I, guess I could put it back in the box and just act like yeah I could do it again if I have to anyways guys thanks for watching, and I'll, see you guys in the next one.
