HTC U 11 and U Ultra Battery Issues

What's up guys Sydney Mot?rhead's back with a quick little video about the battery on the u11 and also to you ultra from HTC now HTC view ultra has sort of been in the criticism news for its poor lackluster battery performance and honestly, I do have to agree with that, but recently HTC rolled out an update. They gave it just a little better battery life, I'm not exactly sure what they did, but it wasn't necessarily big enough of an update for them to come out and say that the battery life is fixed, but definitely in my testing is definitely last to me all day without too much of a problem. But why did I'm not doing any GPS navigation or super high-end tethering, or anything like that? One thing that I did notice when that battery life update came out was also to the phone itself. Now has another problem with is battery life and this problem is being carried over from the HTC. U 11, and that is exactly one per center battery is used every time you restart the phone so to go ahead and just do a general power cycle of the device, as you would normally do with an hour grow device. It is extremely important to do as it clears cashing temporary files and just makes your phone run just that little better, as it is now no longer lugging around week's worth of on time and all that kind of stuff and just makes the Android device way better to use- and this is again extremely important on a lot of Android devices as things like Android wear devices all experience a terrible situation, if you leave them on for more than a few weeks in a row, I've had experiences where my watch has been on for a month, and it basically just crashes and cannot handle it because it needs a simple restart.

So restarting Android device is extremely important and hey Cede's got a little of a problem, as I did mention, it is dropping exactly 1% battery every time you do restart phone now serial for a lot of us. This isn't really going to be much of an issue, one per center battery honestly, who cares check it on the charger for a few minutes, and you get that percent back, but where you do start to get into some situations is, if you're out, where there's no charger, and you need that battery to last as long as possible or if you're going ahead, and you're on one or two percent battery. If you were to do a restart, you would basically have no more power to actually run the phone anymore, which could be a really serious josh an. So, let's take a look at our device. We note our power right here, and we go ahead and restart our device and give it a few moments to go ahead and reboot, and then we go ahead and notice right here.

The battery life clicks over right now, and we can see well. The battery life has gone down. One percent now that you altered in a little better situation than the: u 11, where the? U 11, turns off with, say, 97% power, and it will turn back on with 96 percent power, whereas the? U ultra turns off with 97 and turns back on with 97, but in about five or so seconds, it'll click down one percent of battery now, first I thought this was just a software glitch that may not be reporting battery accurately in the whole, restart majors go ahead and re-register the battery or do something like that. We're taking a new measurement of the battery in deciding it's got a little less power than what it did when it went ahead and rebooted. However, after ten rebuilt, something else got my attention, and that was the fact that my hand basically was on fire from what I can understand that battery life is actually being used.

Every time you restart the device not really much. To my surprise, when you go ahead and restart the device, the processor does speed up to go ahead and make sure that everything turns back on properly and gets going, but where the CP portion is up on the U ultra I actually got really, really hot. After about the 10 torso reboot, so I kind of figured that when this guy goes ahead and reboots from the moment you hit reboot to when the screen comes back on, that processor is at 100% utilization, meaning well obviously, you've gone ahead and dropped that power consumption. There I went ahead and did 20, reboots and notice that I dropped exactly 20% power and also to the back of the phone was getting slow. Hot I really didn't want to go anymore, as I might actually start doing some damage to the hardware of this particular phone.

That then led me to another question: does this happen to other people's devices? Well, I talked to my friend, who owns a HTC u11, and they reported exactly the same thing rebooting multiple times when a head dropped exactly 1% and the phone got hot, just like what I had here. I also too reached out to someone on Twitter, who also too had a on track, and they also too reported the same thing where the phone would get hot and also to lose exactly 1% of power each time at reboot. So it doesn't look like it's a particular device, and it also donot just Australian delivered unit the person who I've reached out on Twitter also to have their device, and they were over in the United States, meaning that this problem is a global issue for the HTC. U line of family devices, but then that also to well live into another question, as it naturally does. Does this problem happen to any other phone? Well, I went ahead, and we've got all the phones on my desk from LG phones, Samsung phones, other HTC phones like the One m7 that I do have, and also two even the iPhone I went ahead and rebooted all of them and found that none of them experienced the same problem.

Even HTC devices did not have this same problem. It seems to be limited to just the u series of devices that are having this weird problem, where they will use exactly 1% of power each time they go ahead and restart now, unfortunately, at the time of Corning I, don't exactly have tools that I can plug into my phone and just monitor CPU usage. When doing a reboot, unfortunately I don't have access to them, but definitely down the line. We may get our hands on that, but that sort of it for today's video I'm kind of at a loss to exactly what's going on I can definitely tell the CPU is speeding up well. Why is doing that I'm, not exactly sure and also -? Why doesn't happen on other devices that are running the exact same version of Android is also -? Another thing I'm not exactly sure, but if you have a theory, let me know what your theory is down in that comment section also -.

If you have a phone, it's also ? experiencing this exact 1% battery life drop every time you restart. Let me know down in that comment section, because I'd be interested to see. One of the devices would be experiencing this same kind of issue because it's kind of weird to see exactly 1% gone every single time, repetitively, no matter how many times you do it so again, let me know down below otherwise guys, thanks for watching the short little video about the little battery on the U devices. I'll catch you all in the next one for some other tech video you.
