Google Pixel 5 VS Huawei P40 Pro Camera Comparison!

What's happening everyone, my name is Alex and welcome back for this camera comparison. We have the brand-new pixel, 5 and, of course, the Huawei p40 pro, and I'm mostly making this comparison, because I've seen some comments, I'm asking for it by some comments. I mean I've seen like three comments, I'm asking for it. As always, throughout this video, I'm going to show you a bunch of daytime pictures. We have portrait mode pictures. We have pictures taken with ultra-wide lenses.

Furthermore, we have Zoom pictures. Furthermore, we have nighttime pictures, um, of course, a bunch of sample videos and sample selfies and just before, we start make sure to press that like button, it's going to help this video quite um a lot and with that being said, let's start by checking out some portrait mode pictures that I took with the pixel 5 and the Huawei p40 pro all right. So, looking at the portrait mode pictures that I took, I filled the edge detection around the subject, so myself and my girlfriend is better from the pictures taken by the p40 pro in almost every single picture, but then looking at our faces. So the color of the face the details on our faces and I like the pictures that I took with the pixel 5. So overall, I think I personally prefer the pictures taken by the pixel 5.

They're, not perfect because of the edge detection, and it would have been awesome if we could combine the two. But overall, I personally feel that the pixel 5 did a bit better. But what do you guys think? Which ones do you like? The ones taken by the pixel 5 or the p4a pro? Definitely leave a comment, and let me know next we're moving on to some zoom pictures and for this I've done five times zoom, but keep in mind the p40 pro has a telephoto lens on the back, so we actually have five times optical zoom, so not exactly a fair comparison. But looking at those pictures, of course, the p40 pro does better in every single picture, because the pictures are much sharper, so yeah for zoom pictures you're, definitely going to do much better with the p40 pro compared to the pixel 5. Moving on to ultra-wide pictures.

Well, the first thing you're going to notice here is the fact that the pixel 5 has a somewhat wider field of view, so you can see a bit more in those pictures compared to the pictures that you're going to take with the p4a pro now looking at colors, the colors on both devices are very similar, but I find the dynamic range from the pictures taken by the p40 pro is slightly better in some of those. Some pictures, sharpness and detail seems to be the same so for the ultra-wide lens. I can't really see that one is better than the other one I actually like, both of them on forum, those pictures taking the ultra-wide lens. But what do you guys think? Which ones do you prefer for that? The pixel 5 or the Huawei p40 pro? And next we are moving on to pictures taken with the main lenses on the back of these two devices? Well, here I feel that the pixel 5 does a bit better, mostly in some more challenging situations. So if you take a picture and the sun is basically pointing towards the camera, the pixel 5 does seem to do better.

It retains the colors better in those situations. The pictures from the p40 pro aren't as sharp and the colors kind of change a bit. So I've also noticed that the pixel 5 is using somewhat warmer colors and I feel the pixel 5 does retain the original colors a bit better. So overall for the main lens um, I feel that the pixel 5 did a bit better than the Huawei p40 pro. But what do you guys? Think? Which pictures do you prefer the ones from the pixel 5 or the p40 pro for the main lens? So let you guys watch a few more pictures and I will be right back next.

We are moving on to some nighttime pictures and for all the nighttime pictures that you're about to see. I use the night modes on both devices, so the night modes work on the ultra-wide lens and on the main lens. So, first we are starting with some um pictures taking on the ultra-wide lens now here I feel that the Huawei p40 pro does a bit better than the pixel 5, mostly because the pictures are a bit sharper. So the pictures that I took with the ultraviolet lens or the pixel 5 don't look as sharp, but I personally like the colors from the pictures taken by the ultra-wide lens from the pixel 5, but I guess um we could edit those pictures so overall for the ultra-wide lens uh with the night mode. I feel that the p40 pro does better now moving on to pictures taking the main lenses on the back of these two devices.

Well, here things kind of change. So a lot of the pictures that I took with the pixel 5 do seem a bit sharper than the ones that I took with the p40 pro, not to mention I kind of like some colors in those pictures from the pixel 5. Now the pictures from the p40 pro also seem to have a bit more contrast. So if you start zooming in on some of those pictures uh, the pictures may seem sharper from the p40 pro, but I think that's just the added contrast, so I'm not sure which one I should say that I prefer for the main lens for the nighttime pictures in some. The p40 pro does good in some, the pixel 5 so definitely check these pictures out and um leave a comment, and let us know what you think next we're going to check out some sample videos that I took with these two devices.

So the first thing I want to talk about is the sound quality from the internal microphones. Well, pretty much all the recordings that I've done on the pixel 5 seem to have a hissing noise, a constant hissing noise throughout the recordings. So for the sound recordings I feel the p40 pro did much better for IMF stabilization. Well, at least for daytime recordings. The pixel 5 does seem to do a bit better.

As for video quality, they are fairly similar. However, the pixel 5 does have a bit more contrast in colors, so I can really say which one is the best for daytime recordings uh in some videos, um, the p40 pro does okay in some, the pixel 5. Does okay, so check out the videos that I'm about to see and definitely leave a comment and um. Let us know your thoughts now for nighttime recordings. I feel there is no comparison.

The p40 pro does better with the ultra-wide lens and the main lens, because there is almost no noise in those recordings, so they do look much better from the p40 pro. So, let's check out those recordings, and I will be right back okay, we have a quick video test between the pixel 5 and the Huawei p40 pro for this recording I'm doing 4k at 30 frames per second and using the main lenses on the back of these two devices. We're going to stop here, I'm going to pan left slowly, and then we'll pan right, and I'm also going to run a bit. So you can see which device has better image stabilization on oil recording with the main lens. So yeah this is how recording down the main lens and 4k at 30 frames per second between the pixel 5 and the Huawei p40 pro would look like, and we're moving on to a quick recording with the front-facing cameras on the pixel 5 and, of course, the Huawei p40 pro, and I wish I would have my sunglasses because it's super sunny.

So if you're recording the front-facing cameras um, the pixel 5 can only record in 1080p where the Huawei p40 pro can actually record in 4k um with the front-facing camera. So there may be a difference uh in the video quality. But again I'm going to have to see how this actually looks on the computer. So I'm going to walk a bit faster, so you can see how the image stabilization does while walking. I guess we'll stop here a bit, and then we'll pan around, and we'll walk this way once again so yeah.

This is our recording with the front-facing camera on the pixel 5 and the OE p40 pro would look like for our next recording between the pixel 5 and the Huawei p40 pro I'm using the ultra-wide lenses on the back of the two devices, and also recording in 4k at 30 frames per second. So we're going to stop somewhere around here. I guess here I guess we'll pan right slowly and back right, and then I guess I'll uh keep walking this way so yeah. This is how recording in 4k at 30 frames per second and the ultra-wide lenses on the back of these two devices would look like all right. This is a quick video test in low light between the Huawei p40 pro and, of course, the pixel 5, for this recording I'm doing 4k at 30 frames per second, and I'm also using the ultra-wide lenses on the back of these two devices.

So we're just going to walk towards the street as steady as I can possibly hold the phones we're going to stop somewhere around here, and we're gonna pan right slowly and back left. I guess we might as well cross the street because it gets uh dark around there, but yeah. This is how recording in 4k at 30 frames per second all the ultra-wide lenses on the back of these two devices would look like, and here I can definitely see way, more um on the recording from the Huawei p40 pro so yeah ultrawide 4k at 30 frames per second, and we're moving to our second recording in low light between the pixel, 5 and, of course, um the Huawei p4, but for this recording I'm using the main lenses on the back of these two devices and, of course, I'm recording in 4k at 30 frames per second, so pan left towards this building, and then we'll walk straight a bit, maybe walk towards the church here. Yeah, this whole recording in 4k at 30 frames per second would look like if you're, using the main lenses on the back of these two devices. So as you've seen for yourself, it's kind of difficult to tell which one is better for daytime video recordings.

I almost feel like the p40 pro. The recordings from the p40 pro looks somewhat closer to the recordings that you'd get from an iPhone, at least the colors, not necessarily the image stabilization so very hard to tell which one does better for video recordings, at least in my opinion. Next we're gonna check out some selfies. So I have a couple of daytime selfies and a couple of nighttime selfies, and I feel that for selfies, the pixel 5 does better for the daytime selfies and for the nighttime selfies for those nighttime selfies. We do have a night mode on both devices, but the night mode on the p40 pro doesn't actually seem to do anything.

So, even if you are using it, the pictures look as you've just seen so there you have it the p40 pro and the pixel 5. So I can't really say which one is better than the other one I mean in some circumstances. The p40 pro was better in some, the pixel 5 was better, so I think either device will do good. Of course, the p40 pro you do have more options. You have more lenses, you have more um photo modes and so on, so they are very different in that way, but um.

Once again, let us know in the comments down below on which one you prefer, and why, thanks for watching, don't forget to press that like button, and I will see you guys in the next one.
