24 hours later, what is going on YouTube jay here from MJ tech today, in this video we're going to be checking out the brand-new Pixel 4a that I received directly from Google, they did sponsor the item, but they didn't pay for this review. I just want to provide that disclaimer. Everything I say will be based on my opinion and facts of the phone, so I've been playing with this device now about day and a half approximately after the unboxing that you just witnessed, and I have to say that it is a very impressive phone in terms of software. This one carries android 10 with the snapdragon 730. It comes with the arena 618 six gigs of ram 128 gigs of internal storage. So when it comes to performance, at least on my unit, I didn't see any hesitation. I didn't notice any lags so for that.
I got to give a lot of credits here to google. They have done it many times in the past and the cool part about this device and any other pixel device is the fact that they guaranteed three years of software update so most likely we're going to get android 12 under 13 and who knows if you're going to get even more, so this is very exciting when it comes to software. We know that many android devices out there from different manufacturers do not get the latest quickly, but the Pixel 4a. We will get it as well. As with the pixel 4, the 3a and even the 3, you will get the latest software.
So here we have the user interface, but before we get into this on the front here, we have a 5.7 inch display with a punch, hole camera. This is an 8 megapixel sensor, able to record at 1080p 30 frames per second, and I do like the design this time of the display because they got rid of the bezels as well as the notch. I was getting a little tired of that. So, yes, they made a big change here with the Pixel 4a, and it looks very nice and vibrant things that this is an OLED panel. It has very nice punchy colors, but it is only 1080p with 443 PPI, and it has HDR as well, so on the right side of the device.
We find the power key together with the volume rockers, and they are very click and loud. Let me show you, but they are functional, of course, towards the bottom. Here we have the USB port with a mono speaker, and we do have the microphone as well. Unfortunately, we don't get sterile speakers with this device, but always keep in mind that it is a 350 dollar phone, so they're not going to go full added, considering the price, so we do have here the same tray, and this is cool because we do have dual sims on here, based on the IMEI that I just saw, and unfortunately I don't have my sim card on here. Yet I did um.
I did plan on getting the service of google phi, and I was about to do it, but I didn't get to it. I was very busy uh in this past two days, so unfortunately I wasn't able to get to it, but uh. So far again when it comes to the functionality of the phone playing games playing with the camera, the battery is actually quite impressive. Inside we have a 3140 million battery and since I took it out of the box, I haven't charged it, and it came with about eighty percent. Approximately and again it has been about day and a half, so I've been kind of using it a lot for camera purposes and just playing with the phone using the Wi-Fi and again very impressed so far, at least with the software and the camera.
So on the back side, here we have a polycarbonate material. We get the fingerprint scanner. This is a 12 megapixel sensor, camera with 1.7 aperture, and it does have a night sight as well. So you get very nice low light condition. Pictures as we have seen with the other uh Google Pixel devices.
We get there the LED light as well, and I do like the design here of the camera very similar to other competitors out there, including the iPhone pro max as we know, and we have many other manufacturers kind of copying this design. But it looks like at first that we're going to add more cameras, and then they just decided to either cancel it or get rid of the project and just bring one camera, but once again I'll keep repeating this throughout the entire video for the price. You really cannot complain. So then, here on the top, we have the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack with a secondary microphone and that's pretty much it here for the physical aspects of the Google Pixel 4a. So when it comes here to the software, as I mentioned before, everything is working very nice and steady.
I haven't had any major issues. Something I did notice is that they took away that pressure sensor so that you could activate google search. Unfortunately, we don't have this here with the Pixel 4a, and these are the things that they've been just cutting down in order to, I guess, reduce the cost of this device, but overall I have to say I'm quite impressed, and it felt very nice in the hand having a 5.7 inch display, but minimalistic bezels makes it feel very nice and comfortable, and even the plastic material takes a lot of the weight out. So you don't feel like the device. It's going to fall off your hand, it's actually very nice and drippy, but I would still recommend getting a case for this as soon as you can so one of the main subjects you guys, I know want to hear about the Google Pixel 4a is the camera, and I have to say that, yes, when it comes to the camera software, it is just absolutely phenomenal.
Even when you just point and shoot and take a picture out of the nowhere, you don't need to play with settings, you don't need to tweak anything. It automatically knows exactly what to do in order to give you the best picture possible, as you guys can see here from the screen. I took a few pictures. I also took some videos, and it does have optical image stabilization as well, which is another plus and electronic image stabilization. So when it comes to videos, it's able to be very, very steady and the colors are just unreal.
The exposure, the saturation, the focus everything is very well-balanced here on the Google Pixel 4a and also for the front-facing camera, which again is the 8-megapixel sensor. It does have very nice qualities as well. Now we don't get the ultra-wide, and we don't get a telephoto lens. Unfortunately, we just have a wide-angle lens and that's going to be your main camera. The rest is done by the software uh.
We do have Castro photography in which uh you will need a tripod. In order to point to the sky, then it'll be automatically activated once you set your device into nice site, which is right here. It takes phenomenal pictures, like I said when it comes to the photography on the Google Pixel 4a. You guys will not be disappointed, and I think that's one of the main highlights of getting this device versus the competitors out. There is simply the camera.
You guys won't be disappointed. I'll give you my word on it. For the rest, this is just another android device. Of course, I'm not going to jump into the details right now, but everything has been working quite great here. I have YouTube so that we can test uh, some video, something that we can check out here so that we can see let's go into the library, let's go into my videos and that way you guys can hear the quality coming out of the loudspeaker.
So let's play the latest one and let's hear it, what is going on YouTube j here from MJ tech today, coming with another unboxing and review of the AirPods Pro replica, and at this point a lot of you guys are gonna, say jay. When are you going to get over it? Well guys, the reason I keep making videos of the latest one that get released from China is because they keep adding more and more features, just like the original one has, for example, on all my other replicas for the AirPods Pro, even though the speaker doesn't sound bad whatsoever, it does get muffled very easily if you place your finger accidentally on it, and also it doesn't give you that stereo experience, it is hard to explain in the sense of words, but when you're listening to a video, you can definitely tell the difference between a higher end device like a Samsung phone or even the iPhone 11 Pro max devices that have stereo speakers, and you go into the Google Pixel 4a. You will definitely notice the difference and that's something that well at least me personally coming from higher end devices. Maybe it's because I've been spoiled with it. Well, I do feel the difference, and I don't necessarily like it, but now what I do like, as I mentioned before, was the camera quality.
I think that well, depending on what kind of shots you're doing, it could compete very easily with higher end devices. In my opinion, when it comes to the fingerprint scanner, I wasn't disappointed whatsoever. It reads it all the time, and it's really easy to set up, and here we can see that demo right now, so I'm turning it off and just placing my finger on the backside here and, as you guys can tell it, is very, very responsive. So, on the fingerprint side, I give a thumbs up to google under the sunlight. The Google Pixel 4a does quite well at max brightness, as you guys can tell.
I tested it in the middle of the day, with the sun directly to it, and I could still see everything on the screen. So that's an indication that, yes, it is a high-end quality display OLED panel, and it has amazing brightness something that I was looking forward to this being said. I think that now we have done here the unboxing and the overview of the Google Pixel 4a. If you guys want a specific video, please let me know in the comment section below and by the way, even though this is not even on the Google market any longer on the play store, I still downloaded it just to give you guys a reference on the scoring, so this gave it a score of 278 000. A true flagship nowadays will score almost 500 000 at this point, so, as you guys can tell, this is definitely a mid-range device with a great camera.
So, with this being said, let me know down below what you guys think about the Google Pixel 4a. Will you buy it? Will you pass on it? Let me know, thank you. So much for watching, and I'll see you on my next one.
