Google Pixel 2 Unboxing! By Max Lee

Hey guys welcome to high on android comm, where we get on android everyday anyway. Today we're going to go ahead and unbox the pixel -. First, it's got Google assistance built in that's right, just like every other Android phone on the back of the device, single team, pixel and right of the box shows the actual phone's sigh. This is imported by Google Canada corporation. It doesn't say where its produce, but obviously they're, bringing it into Canada, maybe for tax purposes. I, don't know why.

But this is a pixel ? guys, if you guys want the bigger pixel to excel you'll, have to wait a little. So let's go ahead and unbox this bad boy are you. This is supposed to have one of the best cameras on a smartphone so far, oops all right. Let me do that again. Pixel to oh I forgot to show you this.

It says just start with: okay, google squeeze the size of the phone or touch for older phone. No, you say: okay, google! Does that power up the phone? Oh okay, google, and then, if I squeeze the phone, it's supposed to turn on. Ok, Google! Ok Google. Oh sorry, you have to power up the phone first, alright, taking a look at the phone here. This is the new pixel guys pixel -.

This is the black version. Obviously um there is a white and a black and white version, and was there like just blue or something yeah, so I got the black version, I suppose design. What I think of the design? I don't know it's hard to say: uh I, usually don't stare the back of the phone, but obviously design is still important. I mean I'm, not gonna, say this is the best design on a phone I just feel like Google, always putting this glass piece on top throws it off balance, but this is very good for the antenna. So that's the whole purpose of it.

I would say it's more practical on a phone like no date which I've got here, which is all glass back, I tend to put fingerprints all over I got a constantly clean. Maybe you have to put a sticker on it or use a case. I usually use a case yeah, but in that regard is very more functional because it's not going to pick up all that fingerprints on I guess it won't really matter much I mean unless you're going to stare at the back of your phone all day, long I. What's really important is what's in the camera what's inside, of course, as far as of the basic design, I'm going to be dead, honest I'm not really a fan of this design. How does it feel it feels not too bad matte finish compared to the note 8.

Now the note 8 curves, really nice, it makes it feel so much thinner. Of course, my v30 here is very interesting phone to compare with all right compared to that. It feels a lot more blocky I mean as far for that naked awesome feel I would definitely go with the V 30 or the no Vader and Eve the Samsung series, but um these I mean because of the gloss back it's more vulnerable if you're going to carry it naked, these are actually the words to carry it right. Pixel excel feel it's a small phone, but it does feel a little blocky again. I'm, not really fan of the design, but I know the camera is supposed to be the best based on the TO mark testing.

So that's going to be really nice. Alright, it's got a USB type-c, a microphone port at the bottom there on the left. There is a micro SIM card slot. There is just one slot for a SIM card now, what's missing, with the pixel 2 or the pixel 2 XL, obviously, no expandable storage, again, alright, maybe not a huge deal, but given the fact that this is one of the first Android smartphones with an ECM, that's right. If you're on Google's project fee network, you do not need a SIM card to use it on project feet, it's got an electronic SIM card, or you can use it unlocks all right with this unlock version.

Um. This is the one I order straight from Google. You got two volume buttons there and a volume button there. Also. This is not a button.

It's just a fingerprint sensor. Let me go ahead and power on the device for you guys. Let's count how long it takes one two, six, seven Wow seven seconds, I remember the LAB 30 took about 30 seconds. To start up, let me go ahead and sign in. Let me try to sign in through Project feet.

I have a count on for project theme. Let me go ahead and sign in now forgot to mention. There is stereo speakers for those of you who don't like using. There is left and right stereo speakers, that's gonna, be really nice, okay, I just simply logged into my Google account and let's see how long it takes to set up my phone without a SIM card. Again you can't use this in court, but if you have a project fee, you can go ahead and use it without sim card.

Okay, so I'm going to have to move my number mic, 16 numbers. So let me go ahead and move my number all right. It took us about two minutes to set up my Google project fee without a SIM card. Let me go ahead and set up my fingerprint. Let's see how long it takes okay here we go one, two, three, four, five, six: seven, that's it seven fingerprints, and you're done with the lab 30 I was 12 Samsung.

It's usually like over 20 fingerprints. It's just really hard to set up. Okay for those of you never use the pixel devices last year, starting with the original pixel Google started, offering basically free unlimited cloud storage. All the original resolution photos and also original resolution.4K videos will be backed up automatically to your Google Drive, which is awesome, Google photos. This means, if you have an unlimited plan like myself or even if you don't have unlimited 4G LTE, you get very good Wi-Fi.

When you come home, it's gonna backup all of your photos. It doesn't matter, you can actually literally take you know, a thousand terabytes of photos and Google will back that stuff up for you for free, and it will automatically free up space. That's probably one of the highlights of Google's pixel devices, it's all the pixel to pixel itself and on pixel with 2 X out. They all have this feature, just see you guys, encase didn't know, and this is free for life. You know, let's say you stopped using pixel makes your move to another galaxy, no date, any photos that you took with this phone will be there unlimited and so long as Google is around for next hundred thousand years.

I don't know. Okay. This is something new um after setup. It does ask you some of these things that haven't seen before. So that's something new with Google Oh Rio.

Now this is supposed to be whoaed um. So this is a new live wallpaper. You can see subtle movements in the background paper, so this is another new feature squeezed for Google Assistant, so you can actually control how firm of a squeeze you want to do now right now, I'm putting a lot of force, you can see squeeze whenever you see that home bar going like that, that's how much it is, but I think I'm going to go with the light. Squeeze I feel like I'm just putting way too much for us. You've really got a squeeze this pretty hard.

So let me try that little tight squeeze, maybe because I'm left-handed, let me try it with my right. Oh, that's so much easier, so the squeeze thing may be better if you're using it. With your main hand, you got to really press it with this area, not this other area. Okay, so you we gonna I'm getting kind of hold of it. Okay, a pretty cool feature copied from HCC was at the last HTC phone.

That has a squeeze feature, but obviously this is made by HTC. A pixel to Excel is made by LG. The camera feature is all the same, but obviously made by a different manufacturer. This has a mallet I think it's 1080p only so if you are gonna, go ahead and use Google's new daydream, which I really don't prefer over Samsung's gear, VR I think it's a lot better, but if you want to take advantage of that, you may want to get the higher resolution pixel to excel, which has the quad HD PIO LED versus this is AMOLED. Now I forgot to show you what's in the box.

Let me go ahead and do that real, quick? Okay, that's what it sends. The box says: welcome to team pixel bonjour doing those tears it's good morning in Spanish. I just said it some learning Spanish. Alright, it does come with a semi, Jack you're late to tool. How come everybody makes it like this I know.

Lg now makes it like this. Even Google now makes it. Everybody makes it the same design, I'm wondering whoever thought of making these little pins. Oh hi, this sim card, tray, and you'll need one of these pens to get started. Okay.

This is just a manual sorry, okay, it does come with Wow OT G adapter. Look a lot nice little OTG adapter. So you can go ahead and connect your flash drives and collect. You know you can connect your mouse all that good stuff. So it's really nice a lot of these newer phones, all the Samsung phones comes with it.

So save this around. Just in case you want to your know: transfer some data to your flash drive comes in really handy, or you want to look at some of your old photos on flash drives. You go ahead and just connect this okay, anything else in the box Wow now God the dreaded, iPhone cable, pretty much. That's what I call it. These things are pretty damn stupid.

So if you want to use traditional headphones, you'll have to use this cable I hate it I'm, probably never going to use headphones with this phone I was going to grab my Bluetooth one. If I use this phone with it, alright we've got USB type-c cables. They look really nice attention to detail its comes with the little snap own thing, so you could keep it organized more or less. Okay. Lastly, but not least, a rectangular shaped USB type-c adapter, so this only useful for USB type-c to type see I.

Actually don't like this I, like the other regular ones. So you can use older cables, or you can plug in any USB device. With this one, you can only use USB to see I. Actually, don't really like it for compatibility issues I, don't know why they do that they made the whole phone practical like they sacrifice a ton of design or practicality. Nice matte finish no fingerprints, but they had to lead the industry with incompatible crap that I really don't want.

This is rated for 5 olds, 3, amps, 9, volts, 2, amps, so quick charge, 3.0 support it um. It's got a nice always-on screen. Of course. The best thing about this phone is not the design. It's not the feel.

It's not the lack of headphones. Furthermore, it's not even the display. Furthermore, it's not even the stereo speakers. The only thing that I would buy this phone actually would be the camera. So let's go ahead and take a look at the at this point: I'm pretty not so impressed with the design it might be because I'm also getting the pixel to excel, which is on its way.

It's just they're shipping out all the papers of regular pixel twos. First, that's why I got it this first yeah. Let me give you another look at the screen here: okay for all you bezel Nazis out there you're really not gonna, like the design. Look at how big the bezels are compared to the LAB 30. Look at how big these bezels are compared to God, more than double the bus bezels at the top, more than double the bezels at the bottom.

Compared the movie now I'm, not too crazy about bezel list phones, I'm more into the features like camera I mean it does have stereo speakers, so I'm, not even I, may have a complaint, but for all you bezel out there bezel Nazis, you may be better off getting a phone like Vivid, 30 and V.30 just kills it in terms of vessel, and it's actually thinner to look at that is way, thinner, bigger and the thinner phone yeah design, wise I, think the V 30 really gets up this year by the way, I am testing out my new metamorphic lens, because that's why I have led their gives a nice little flares. Also, I, don't know if you notice with the camera. The bouquet is slightly different. It's more film! Looking what you guys think um! So that's why I switch to this look? Okay, so let's go ahead and check out the port short mode, while other smartphones use two lenses to create the DSLR blurring out effect, Google uses only one. That is amazing.

Let me go ahead and try on this Android guys. Let me do the portrait mode here yeah. It looks perfect. Actually good. Let me try the front camera out real quick, so I'm going to go ahead and do the portrait mode I heard you could do the front porch alone.

He won't so I. Guess the portrait mode is only for the back camera I'll. Try it real quick! Just do a boring shot, doesn't look too bad. Just the whole face is out of focus. I may have to play with this to get the best effects, so I don't know.

Maybe I have to update the software, but as if now, if I go to portrait, it won't use the front camera again. I'll have to test this a lot further. Obviously, I just got this phone. Let me just do one more here: poor Chuck mode right there and, let's see actually how good the edges look. I mean it does look perfect using only one camera Wow.

Look at how clean the edges are. Okay, I, don't want to make this review too long, but before I go I want to show you all the video resolutions for those who you love, making videos like me um, so the only option for K and ATP or 720p for ketone at 30 frames per second front camera 1080p and video stabilization supposed to be really awesome on this. So we will actually go ahead and test it out. I have a bunch of test videos of that before right now, you're, not bad at all, again, I'm still sort of disappointed at you know. It's designed it didn't really change much, but that's just could be me of course, this year it's also warm proof.

IP I think ip67 rated, but there is no wireless charging. So if you do get your phone wet, if you get the charging port wet, you may have to dry it off before you can charge so make sure before you wet it, you charge it all the way or charge it up, so you don't have to worry about battery life after you get it out of the water, but so far, um little disappointing with the design I just feel like this is more of a basic phone rather than it doesn't really feel premium like we might note, 8 ? feels my LG v.30 feels premium just how it feels and how those edges just curved off, make it so much sexier there's my thoughts, but I'll have a full review of this again. I want to really play with the camera. More camera is supposed to be the best this year up out of all the smartphones, according to DXO mark which isn't everything, but it's a pretty good measure anyway, have a great day folks, that's my unboxing of the pixel tube I also have unboxing of the pixel to XL when it's here, but do let me know what you think about the pixel 2 and if you used it, also leave your comments. If you got it today, if you've been using it longer than me, obviously leave some comments also, but yeah not a bad phone.

This might be a phone that you may be able to carry naked without a case too bad, because you got some nice somewhat durable material versus just clasp on the back, especially for fingerprints, and you guys have a great day and as always, um stay.
