Galaxy Z Fold 3 - NO WAY

So the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will launch in a few months from now on and it's impressive that Samsung has managed to keep most of its features under wraps. Yes, we know a few things about it but overall we still don't have a good picture of what exactly we could expect from the next foldable flagship. Interestingly today I saw this article from Letsgodigital saying that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 can measure blood pressure. Now, this is a bold claim and I'll explain whether or not we are going to actually see this technology on the Z Fold 3 but before that let's take a look at the technology itself. Letsgodigital is basing this based on a patent that Samsung filed which they discovered today. Basically, the idea is to use the foldable phone sort of like a giant finger clip for blood pressure monitoring, I mean you need to keep your finger in between the display when it's closed, and presumably, the device would provide more accurate readings thanks to multiple sensors placed beneath the display working together to complete the task.

And not just blood pressure, the sensor will be able to provide information like vascular age, aortic pressure waveform, arterial stiffness, vascular compliance, stress index, and fatigue level. Pretty neat, and absolutely useful I must say. But the thing is Samsung has this new strategy where they have limited the use of health-related sensors to its wearables. The Galaxy Watch 3 as well as the Watch Active 2 already has a blood pressure monitoring feature albeit limited to only a certain few countries. And recently Samsung has also been taking away the health-related sensor from their flagships such as the heart rate monitor.

You won't find it in the recent Samsung flagships. They are doing it to give their Galaxy watch some exclusive features that you won't find on their phones. Also, this patent is old, similar applications were filed in 2019 which were scrapped simply because Samsung wants to keep these features for their smartwatches. So what I'm trying to say is don't expect the Galaxy Z Fold 3 to have blood pressure monitoring sensors. It's not going to happen.

Maybe with the future Galaxy Fold smartphones, it may happen if Samsung changes their strategy but for now, it's not happening on the Z Fold 3. With that being said, the Z Fold 3 isn't the only foldable we're expecting at July's unpacked event, Samsung will also launch the Galaxy Z Flip 3. And we have some new information about that handset as well. According to South Korean web forums, the Z Flip 3 will be available in a rainbow of colors. In fact, a total of 8 colors.

They are light purple, black, green, beige, matte gray, white, dark blue, and dark pink. The source also mentions that the base storage is going to be 256GB on both the Z Flip 3 and the Z Fold 3. With that said, Samsung has uploaded another video titled the most powerful Galaxy. Take a look. Now, Samsung itself is confirming that it is for their laptop by showing the Intel logo.

The Unpacked event will take place in a couple of days on April 28th. Do consider subscribing for all the latest tech news and as always I'll see you tomorrow... Peace out.
