Galaxy Note 8 vs iPhone 7 Plus Camera Test Comparison

What's up YouTube, so if you're on super-safe TV and welcome to another super sass style, camera comparison this time between the iPhone, 7 plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. The note tape is currently running pre-release software, but the iPhone 7 plus, is almost a year old now, so I thought. Let me just do this comparison right now, so we can see how well the note 8 performs. I will redo this test when the new iPhones are out in a few weeks time, so we're using the front-facing cameras on both devices right now and look out for the audio icon throughout the video that will indicate to you which device you are coming from. We're going to be doing loads of tests, so outdoors indoors low lights, a front facing camera rear facing camera all the good stuff. So, let's get straight to it now we're going to be testing out the stabilization from the front-facing cameras so having a bit of a walk right now, let's start running, so we're forming our four key right now, and we are using the wide angle, cameras on both devices here now we're using the telephoto cameras at 4k, taking a bit of a look around and now, let's take a bit we're at 1080p now, and we're just going to be testing out of the stabilization here, so we're at the wide-angle camera.

First, let's go and start running now, telephoto at 1080p. They walk and change that into rock now. End is just testing. The autofocus on the iPhone 7 plus seems to be doing a very good job. Now on the notes, 8 once again doing excellent.

That dual-pixel to focus, however, does seem to be quicker, so that was the video. Now before we move on to the images looking at or working with here for the front-facing cameras, we have 7 megapixels versus 8 megapixels. We also have a wider aperture on the note 8, as well as autofocus, for the rear facing cameras. We've actually got a very similar setup here: 12 megapixel, dual cameras on both. However, once again the note 8 does have a wider aperture on both lenses, and both lenses also have optical image.

Stabilization on the iPhone 7 plus optical image. Stabilization is only on the wide lens. Now, if you want to pick up some skins for your device, like I, have done here definitely check out our channel sponsor D brand I'll be leaving a link to them in the description below last thing to mention all images and video have been taken on automatic I haven't tweaked any of the settings, and this is to keep things as fair as possible. Kicking off with some selfies I think both are doing good here. We've got a slightly wider angle on the note.8 and we've also got better dynamic range notes. Aids.

If you look at the background, you can see some more of those details have been maintained on the note 8 on the 7 plus they have been blown out now, testing out, low-light, selfie I, think the note 8 is definitely doing better here again. You've got a brighter image with less noise, and the colors are also better maintained now using the front-facing flash on both devices. I think both are doing much better here compared to without the note 8 is definitely brighter, but it's not as sharp as the iPhone 7 plus I think this will come down to your personal preference. Now moving on to the dual rear camera, starting off with a wide-angle shot, I think both are doing great here. The note 8 definitely seem sharper.

It has got a bit more contrast now. This is a perfect situation to use the telephoto lens, giving us two times optical zoom, both doing a great job here. But once again the note 8 does seem a tad sharper, and it does have a little more contrast, which I do like now, trying out a macro shot both doing great here, slight differences in color, but we've got some nice images now, if you do go in 100%, you can see that the note 8 is sharp and that's because I've noticed it's got a better minimum focusing distance. You can get in a little closer to your subjects compared to that on the iPhone 7 plus, and this will be a bit more beneficial for those macro shots. Now.

One thing that I know a lot of you guys are looking forward to seeing is the depth of field effect, which both of these devices do offer, and I've started off with a very simple image. So we've got some very clear defined edges and both are doing a very good job here. I would give the edge here to the note 8, because we do see a few defects on the iPhone 7 plus, but overall, both are doing great now in actual portrait. Shots I think once again, both doing very, very good I can notice that the note 8 is sharper. If you go in 100%, you can see this more clearly.

We've got slight differences in color, but the note 8 is definitely sharper. The iPhone, 7 plus, seems to have softened the image a little, try to get that blur and moving on to another portrait shot, but this time with a bit more of a complicated background, just to see how well these do I think both are doing perfect overall, but I can see a few defects on both of these in certain areas, but, generally speaking, I think the portrait mode on both of these is perfect. The advantage that you do have in the note 8 is that you can adjust the background blur after the fact. This is something that you can't do on the iPhone 7 plus now moving on to low-light shots. We are gonna, be using the wide-angle camera on both of these for low lights, because both devices only use the wide-angle camera because of the wider aperture for low-light, and here a low-light indoor shot.

The note 8 is better. You've got a brighter image with less noise, and it also looks a little sharper now moving on to an outdoor low-light shots once again the note 8 brighter here. It's also maintaining the colors better going in 100%. You can also see it's sharper compared to the iPhone 7 plus now. Finally, an image using the flash I think both are doing.

Ok here, Canon will come down to your pass and preference I'm, not much of a flash user so guys there is the comparison of the iPhone 7 plus versus the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, with the pre-release software. Now, as expected, even with the pre-release software, the note 8 did perform better overall. In my opinion, images from the front-facing camera were a little wider with better dynamic range for the video. However, the note it wasn't as wide, but I think that is because it crops in a little to give you more stabilization, and you would have noticed that the note 8 is quite a bit more stable compared to the iPhone 7 plus when it comes to the front-facing camera. Now for the rear facing cameras, I think the note 8 was sharper with better dynamic range and because you've got two going to be stabilization on both cameras when it came to the telephoto.

The note 8 was definitely a lot more stable now, for other images both were good, and the zoom also worked great on both devices. The note 8 I would say was a bit sharper, however, which I did like and for the background blur effect. I think both did perfect side differences in color, but the note 8 was definitely sharper, and you can't edit the blur after the fact which you can't do on the iPhone 7 plus for low-light the note 8 once again better overall, because of that wider aperture images were brighter with less noise and better colors and finally for audio. We do have stereo sound on the note 8 vs. mono sound on the iPhone 7 plus.

So the note 8 did sound better to my ears now I know. A lot of you guys are gonna, be complaining in the comments saying that the iPhone 7 plus is year old. So this is not a fair comparison, but if you've got the iPhone 7 plus- and you want to get the note 8, then this will show you how many improvements we have on the note 8. Even with this pre-release software, so when we do get the final software, things will only be better, and we will redo this comparison when the new iPhones are out. So if you do want to see that first then make sure you have subscribed and switch on notifications, what did you think of the results? Definitely, let me know in the comments below I hope you enjoyed this video and found it useful.
