Galaxy Note 20 Ultra vs iPhone 11 Pro Max Speed Test - Who Will Win?

So, let's start off this speed test by doing a quick boot up test to see which device comes out on top the note 20 ultra or the iPhone 11 Pro max, just in general, though iPhones have always been really slow to boot up, whereas androids have always been really quick to boot up. So, let's see if that trend continues with the note 20 ultra and the iPhone 11 Pro max. So let's go one. Two three hold down these two numbers: okay, both of them are starting up. It's taking quite a while for both of them to start up. Okay Samsung has now transitioned to a different window, and it looks like it looks like yep the note 20 ultra did come out on top and the iPhone 11 Pro max was just slightly behind the note 20 ultra.

So pretty interesting. Now in terms of biometrics, the iPhone 11 Pro max does use facial recognition and facial recognition is alright, but during a pandemic it's really not that useful, because we're all wearing masks right now uh, so I do prefer an ultrasonic in display fingerprint scanner like the one found on the note.20 ultra, I just want to quickly show you guys the speed in terms of biometrics on both of these devices. So, let's start off with the fingerprint scanner, one two three okay, so that was fairly quick. Now, let's try face I'd okay, so both of them are pretty fast in their own respective ways. So I really can't give one a slight advantage over the other, but during a pandemic I would most definitely choose the ultrasonic and display fingerprint scanner.

Okay guys, so both of these devices are connected to the exact same Wi-Fi network. Let's go ahead and clear up all the apps that are running in the background, so close all right there and swipe with these away. So how this is gonna work is we're gonna first start off by running the stock apps. So for the iPhone we have some stock apps and for Samsung we have some dedicated stock apps. So let's go ahead and get to opening up those and see which one comes out on top.

So this is a good indication of how well these phones run and how well the software is optimized to run with the particular specs okay. So, let's start off with opening up the settings, app kind of boring, but it is the settings app one. Two three go as you can see there. The iPhone 11 Pro max did come out on top by a tiny slight bit. Okay, let's keep going with the stock apps.

Let's try opening up the calendar. One two three go. I think right there. It was a tie. Uh both of them did come out on top at the exact same time.

Let's try opening up another stock app, so we'll go with the app store. One. Two three goes. Okay, once again, it looks like the iPhone 11 Pro max did come out on top by just a tiny bit. Now, let's open up the stock camera apps for both of these phones, one two three go: it looks like it was a tie there.

It does look like it was a tie, and I just want you guys to know that both of these devices are actually really smooth, but the advantage does go over to the note 20 ultra just because of that 120 hertz refresh rate panel. You can really tell that it's a lot smoother whenever you are interacting with it like the flow of the transitions, it's just a lot smoother. It just feels really nice to interact with on a day-to-day basis, with the iPhone 11 Pro max. We do have a 60hz refresh rate panel, and I'm hoping this changes with the iPhone 12 Pro just because 120 hertz is a lot smoother and a pro device should have the 120 hertz panel, but that's just my opinion. Okay.

So now, let's try opening up some basic social media. Apps like Twitter and Instagram, one two three go: okay right there, the uh note 20 ultra did come out on top. It was a lot faster. Meanwhile, the iPhone 11 Pro max did take a while to boot. Up make sure you guys are following me over on Twitter and Instagram.

I will leave my link in the description below so make sure you go and check that out. Okay, now, let's try opening up Instagram one two three go looks like it was a tie there. Actually it does look like it was a tie there. Let's try opening up WhatsApp one two three go looks like it was a tie there once again, let's keep moving forward and try opening up some apps like Starbucks one. Two, three go so the note 20 ultra did come out on top once again.

Meanwhile, the iPhone 11 Pro max did take a while to load up okay, let's start putting up Spotify one two three go so, as you can see once again, Spotify did open up faster on the note 20 ultra alright. So now, let's try opening up some gaming apps. Now gaming apps do take a little longer to load just because they are bigger files, but these two phones are the beasts of 2020, so they should be able to handle it, no matter what so without further ado, let's try opening up Call of Duty mobile one. Two three goes looks like the iPhone 11 Pro max does have a slight lead. Yep, the iPhone 11 Pro max did open up a little faster yep.

So I'm going to give that over to the iPhone 11 Pro max, just because they did open up a little faster and uh yeah. So that was pretty interesting. Let's try, opening up a different game temple run one two three go right, so the note 20 ultra did load up a little faster yep. It was definitely a lot faster, so yeah I'm going to get that over to the note 20 ultra. Let's close that in the background, let's keep moving forward and open up one of my favorite games for mobile dead trigger 2.

If you guys haven't, played this game yet make sure you download it tonight it is that good all right. So, let's get right down to it. One two three go looks like it was a lot faster on the iPhone 11 Pro max with the note 20 ultra just a little behind, let's try to get into an actual game and see which one loads up faster. So the boards are dedicating okay, and it was a lot faster on the iPhone 11 Pro max, which is fascinating. Continuing on with the gaming theme, let's try opening up PUBG mobile one.

Two three goes looks like the iPhone 11 Pro max has a slight head start. We did that yep, so the iPhone 11 Pro max seems to be doing a lot better at loading games than the s20 ultra. So the running theme here seems to be that the iPhone 11 Pro max does seem to open up games a lot faster than the note 20 ultra, which I find to be rather interesting. It's most likely because games for iOS are better optimized than games for android. So that could be the reason why it is opening up faster and nothing really related to specs, let's open up one more game and see if the iPhone 11 Pro max does come out on top once again, so let's try opening up a bigger file, asphalt, 9.

One two three go so once again, the iPhone 11 Pro max is loading the game faster, and we are already in the game, as you guys can see, whereas with the note 20 ultra, it did lag behind by about three seconds so which is really, really interesting. So what's really nice about these two phones is that they do a terrific job of ram management. So you can go back into all of these apps that we just opened and all these apps are still available, and they're still running in the background. So let's go open up Instagram here you can see the Instagram has restarted Instagram here, so I did restart here on the iPhone 11 Pro, which is fascinating. Okay, lets um keep going asphalt.9 also restarted on the iPhone 11 Pro max, so games like temple run, are still running. In the background, which is really nice to see, so the ram management is really, really good on both of these devices.

So here is a quick look at the geek bench scores between these two phones. Obviously, the iPhone 11 Pro max does come out on top just because the a13 bionic chipset is such a beast of a processor and even the snapdragon, 865 plus processors, found on the note.20 ultra just can't compete with the a13 bionic, but these single core and multi-core scores don't really translate into real world performance, as you guys saw for yourself from the speed test. I would say the note 20 ultra is a much smoother filling device just because of that 120 hertz panel. It's just so smooth. Like all of these interactions.

All of these transitions. Everything is just really, really smooth, whereas on the iPhone, it's still pretty, it's still plenty smooth, but keep in mind. This does have two times the refresh rate as the iPhone 11 Pro max. So we are going to have to wait until the iPhone 12 Pro max comes out to see if Apple does implement a 120, hertz screen and so far the rumors haven't been that promising. I hope you guys enjoyed that speed test between the note 20 ultra and the iPhone 11 Pro max.

I will be doing one more speed test once the iPhone 12 Pro max comes out, so make sure you guys are subscribed for that uh. But for now you guys can watch my note 20 ultra first impressions. I will leave it on this video card right here. So make sure you guys go and check that out. That's with it for me guys I'll catch you all in the next one and don't forget to flex with your tech.
