Hey, all it is Andrew here from AppleInsider in this is a tale of two tablets. We have the brand-new 2019 a Fire, HD 10, and we have the 2019 iPad we're going to break these things down, not literally but break down their specs and features. Gotta. Give you a good idea on comparing the two tablets while one is clearly more inexpensive and the other one is clearly more capable, which one is perfect to get for your situation. Let's see if we can help you out in this video. Let's start off by talking about the Fire HD 10 is the newest one just launched on the talents here of 2019 and then updated with a powerful 8 Core 2 gigahertz processor still has the same 1080p display in that 10-inch screen, which is 224 PPI.
Otherwise, it has finally made the jump to USB and those future software enhancements there, but otherwise this is a pretty much it's a new iteration on the Fire HD 10. That's been around for a little while now, it's still largely a plastic body and when you're, comparing directly to the iPad it falters in a lot of different ways, but it's its half the price and that price difference. It could be literally the only thing that matters. If you can't afford the iPad, then nothing else, matters, there's no other features that matter. They're going to make you want to get the iPad.
It's simply if you can afford this over the iPad, but there are other use cases where this may be beneficial over the iPad. If you just want a cost-efficient tablet, you're not going to feel that bad about breaking 150 our tablet compared to breaking of 330 dollar tablet, so just really depends on what your preference in what you're working on that you need a specific tablet, whether it's the Fire HD 10 or the new 20:19 10.2-inch iPad. Now, let's go ahead and talk about the iPad and its new features. Okay, so this is the 2019 iPad. It's been upgraded to a 10.2 inch display, which it actually has a pixel density of 264 PPI. So it's definitely a better-looking display.
Then we have over on the fire.10 HD has support now for the smart connector, the smart Keyboard, so you can use a smart keyboard with this also works with a first generation Apple Pencil. So if you're doing anything artistic when a draw, then the iPad is going to be the answer between the two of these or any productivity stuff. The multitasking on the iPad scans so well with iOS, 13, plus Apple Pencil and the keyboard support full-size keyboard support on this one. So a lot of nice productivity features to this one. It doesn't have USB, see you're still going to be rocking lightning on the bottom of this, unlike the iPad pros, but otherwise it has a 4 core, 2.4 gigahertz Apple, a 10 fusion processor, which is no slouch by any means. Another big differentiator between the two of these guys is going to be the cameras that are perched around back.
The iPad is rocking an 8 megapixel sensor that can capture 1080p video, whereas the bio 10 HD is only 2 megapixels, it can capture at 720. You may not be taking a lot of pictures, but for AR and other kid-friendly features they may be nice to have that higher resolution camera. So where does the Fire tablet win? Well, its biggest benefit is that it's a family device and immediate consumption device, so those are it's probably its biggest benefits. I love the fact that it comes with if you're going to buy one only find the one with 32 gigs of storage, because it has a micro SD card slot. You can put in 128 gigs of storage in here and boost the capacity, a ton versus paying a bunch of extra money for the 64 gig version, which also has expandable memory, so you might as well buy the lowest capacity, and then you can download all of your TV shows movies whatever it is that you want to consume on this.
To take with you. That's it that's probably its biggest benefit as just a media consumption device, whether it's audiobooks, books, movies, TV, shows music. You can load this thing up and just take it with you not have to worry about Wi-Fi cellular anything like that. Take it on the car, take it on vacation, read and consume a ton of content, at least if you're getting that content from Amazon. So those are probably the biggest things to get here.
The speed is definitely improved is a lot faster than the last generation device that we played with. It definitely makes a big difference, especially if you're playing games or anything like that which speaking of games is what brings us to the iPad now the iPad. It has a lot of benefits, a lot of benefits over that fire tablet, and it should, it's twice as much more than twice as much for the iPad over the Fire HD 10 I mean it's its a lot more, but you're getting so much more premium quality. The display feels nicer. It's a higher resolution display you have a metal back, you're, the smart connector with a full-size keyboard.
You have Apple Pencil support. You have all the multitasking features in here. Furthermore, you have a much more robust, app store full of many more games and everything to play and productivity apps. But when you're looking at games, you have the new Apple Arcade, which brings all of those games to here that you can play for just that low monthly price. So, depending on what you're doing, if you're looking for an affordable tablet for maybe someone goes to school, this could be a good option, because the productivity benefits, if you're, focusing on games, then again this, because it has Apple Arcade in a much larger, App Store.
It really just comes down to. If you want to spend the extra money for the better tablet, we're not knocking the fire by any means, it's still a big, an exceptional tablet for only $150, and this one new one has Alexa built in too. So that's a nice feature compared to Siri over here, but there's a lot to love about this tablet, probably a hundred and fifty dollars. But if you want the better tablet, then you're going to have to pay a little more and go for the iPad.
