CAMERA COMPARISON! Pixel 4a vs. iPhones 8 and 11 Pro Max

I believe that one of the most important features when choosing a new smartphone is the camera right. So in today's video I'm going to be comparing the Pixel 4a with the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 11 Pro max. It's important to consider that the Pixel 4a is google's entry-level smartphone. The iPhone 8 was apple's entry-level iPhone for a while, and the iPhone 11 Pro max is the iPhone that I use every single day. So this is a comparison, so you guys can have an idea of how these cameras perform so starting off with the first photo. I believe that the iPhone 11 Pro max has better white balance, better details and better dynamic range.

Overall, the Pixel 4a has great detail as well, but in my opinion the photo is too cold. The white balance is not that great if compared to the iPhone 11 Pro max, also for the iPhone 8, the detail is okay. However, I believe that something weird happened, because if you check on my wrist, you can see that the white is a little overexposed. So I don't really know if the angle was a little different. I don't know what happened there, but there's its a little overexposed in that area, also something about collar in the iPhone 8's photo.

My skin is a little more yellow, so I don't know if the white balance was not extremely correct if compared to the iPhone 11 Pro max. However, I don't really like the color of this image and if you pay attention to my monitor, we're also losing a little of detail there. Now this is a comparison between the Pixel 4a and the iPhone 11 Pro max, while using portrait mode. Don't forget that the iPhone 8 does not have the portrait mode feature. So that's why I'm, comparing only these two models.

In my opinion, portrait mode didn't work as great as the pixel. Here you can see that the transition between what's in focus and what's not in focus, is not that soft, it's not as smooth. So I believe that the pixel one in this area also, I still believe that the iPhone's photo has better white balance and the pixels photo is still too cool for me to blue talking about selfies. All of these selfies were taken with a front facing camera and overall, I believe that the iPhone 11 Pro max has great dynamic range quality and detail. I was extremely surprised to see how sharp the pixels photo is.

However, I still do not like the colors. I think it. The colors overall are too cool. The white balance is too cool. It's too blue, and especially when we're talking about um skin tone.

If you pay attention to this photo, you can see that I look pale. I don't look very healthy, so this is a downside for me and now talking about the iPhone 8, the quality and detail is not as great if compared to the pixel and the iPhone 11 Pro's photo, but I really enjoy the colors here. The photo has a pink tone to it and I believe it makes me look a lot more healthy if compared to the pixel, for example, as we've seen in the first photo, the dynamic range is not as great here again as you can see. There are a few over exposed areas like my cheeks and my teeth. Now these selfies we're taking with the rear cameras, and I have to say that I am still not in love with the colors of the Pixel 4a overall, the iPhone 11 Pro max is the one that has the best dynamic range um and the iPhone 8 has great color.

However, there are still a few overexposed areas like my cheeks and nose, for example, and going back to the Pixel 4a a little. I don't know what happened in this photo in particular, but I feel like the photo is a little too dark. However, I have to say that the quality is perfect, and the photo is very sharp. Now this is a portrait mode image using the rear camera again and this time the pixel's portrait mode didn't work as great as our first comparison. Portrait mode on smartphones is done through software, and it's not like an actual lens on a camera.

So that is why it cannot be a hundred percent perfect, but we have to choose which one makes the best job right. So in this example in particular, I believe that the 11 pro max has a better photo. If you pay attention to my hairline, for example, you can notice the big difference between both of these images on the Pixel 4a. My hair basically disappeared in a few sections and on the iPhone 11 Pro max. There are a lot of areas that are blurred.

I believe this is not as great either. However, it's softer and more normal. When you look to the image the pixel, you can clearly see that the portrait mode didn't really work. Also, something else that I didn't really enjoy on the Pixel 4a is that the photo has a crop to it. So it's a little too close to my face.

I think it doesn't look as great and the photo is really, really sharp, which is not a problem. However, you can see all the imperfections on my face, so I have to say that, overall, I prefer the iPhone 11 Pro max here now. It was definitely a little harder to compare these images. They are all really, really similar. Overall, all of them are sharp enough.

However, the main difference for me in regard to the pixel is that again, the photo is too cool. It's not that big of a deal. I believe this is mainly a bad thing when we are photographing someone or taking a selfie, it's mainly bad for skin tones. However, it's noticeable, and once again there are a few areas on the iPhone 8's photo. There are over exposed.

If you pay attention to the clouds that are reflecting on the pool, you can see that a few areas are overexposed, so the other images are better. In that case same thing, here, all the images overall have great detail more or less. The only thing that I've noticed is again. The Pixel 4a has a cooler tone to it, and the iPhone 8 is not as sharp if compared to the other images. And last but not least, I also wanted to try night mode.

Don't forget that the iPhone 8 does not have this feature, so you can clearly see the result in the image, but comparing the iPhone 11 Pro max and the Pixel 4a, both of them have great detail. Both images are sharp and well exposed. I even believe that in this case, the Pixel 4a is sharper than the iPhone 11 Pro max. What I didn't like about the pixel is that again, the image has a cooler tone to it, and it doesn't seem really, really realistic. If you know what I mean, because this photo was taken at 10 pm and by looking at the pixels photo, you can actually think it was kind of like 6 p.

m, because you can see kind of like a blue sky, so I feel like the iPhone 11 Pro max's photo, is more realistic. In conclusion, I believe that the iPhone 11 Pro max is the winner here, but we have to say that the Pixel 4a does take great photos. The biggest downside for me, in my opinion, is the color, because it does have a bluish and colder tone to it and also is extremely sharp. So it's not that great when taking portraits or selfies, but don't forget that the Pixel 4a is an entry-level smartphone, so it cannot really be compared to the iPhone 11 Pro max, especially when talking about price processor. The iPhone 8 also did a great job.

We only had a few problems with um sharpness and overexposed areas, but this was a comparison, so you guys can have an idea of how well these cameras perform. If you enjoyed the video, don't forget to give me a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel. If you haven't already thanks for watching, and I'll see you guys next time.
