Blackberry KEYone Review: Simple Greatness

Blackberry is still very much in the smartphone game and in 2017 they're, taking things a step back to their roots with the BlackBerry key one. This is an Android smartphone, coming with the full set of BlackBerry features. You would expect, including, of course, the wonderful physical keyboard we're going to be taking a look at whether you should buy the BlackBerry key one in this video now look there's no getting around it. You're buying a blackberry for the physical keyboard. That's exactly why I bought the key one, and while there are other reasons like security, the keyboard is definitely the overarching factor. I've been a huge fan of BlackBerry for as long as I remember, and this smartphone definitely hasn't.

Let me down the key. One has been designed. Amazingly, it's got a solid and durable film quality made to last, and it feels perfect in the hand they've included a similar carbon fiber texture to the one we saw on the BlackBerry, Drive and I have to say this design really stand out from the crowd at first I thought this was a complete joke, but it actually started to grow. On me, really fast, and I have to say that I'm, a huge fan of it now that I've been using it properly. The silver on black theme goes around for the whole body of the phone and makes a really nice overlay on top of the sides, which once again just looks like no other smartphone out there, buttons are nice and click and, as usual, with blackberry, we're also getting a dedicated convenience key which can be mapped to anything.

You like, in my case, I set it to open the torch, but you can, of course, run more practical setups, like opening up a specific app. There are lessons to be learned from this and tied into the convenience. Let's just go ahead and talk about the keyboard. The keyboard on this blackberry is the standard BlackBerry keyboard. You would always find, and that's to say it is absolutely awesome with each blackberry release, there's always a vocal minority, picking out flaws like the keys not clicking well or having a bad texture, but coming from someone who's owned each generation of blackberry phones.

This one is just as good as all the others. The keyboard also has touch sensitive features, so you can do things like swipe left to delete and scroll through apps, which is really useful when you don't want to block the screen, but perhaps the most welcome surprise. This year has been the inbuilt fingerprint scanner at first glance. It's not easy to tell where the fingerprint scanner is and that's because they built it right into the clickable space bar. This is a huge plus, because, while BlackBerry has always prided themselves on security, they have an even including fingerprint scanners, which are obviously so important.

The scanner here is perfect, and it's surprisingly fast as well. It's as fast as flagships like the galaxy s 8, which you just wouldn't expect from a blackberry. It's pretty good to see battery life is another huge, strong point for the key one. In fact, this blew my expectations out of the water, because also a full day of usage. It even carried through into the next morning, 24 hours after a full charge with 30% left over.

It's absolutely insane to think that you can smash something like 30 hours, battery life out of a smartphone, and while we are talking about smashing things, I want you to go to town on those like and subscribe buttons. That would be pretty nice. The key one also supports fast charging, which is a nice touch, but it's really nothing special anymore, because it just feels like every other smartphone has this as a standard feature these days, but it is of course nice that they included it performance, isn't too bad running on a snapdragon, 625 and 3 gigabytes of RAM, but compared to the bigger flagships, it is noticeably slower. Usually that would be a big problem for someone like me who always wants the fastest tech, but this actually wasn't too bad, so I'm quite happy with where it's at. Of course.

At this price tag, it would have been nice to see something more like a Snapdragon 820 at least, but since they have included that keyboard, I think that the benefits outweigh the cons. The weaker specs in this smartphone definitely plays a part in the longer battery life as well. So I think that's a trade-off I'm willing to make, especially with a phone built like this. The camera was actually better than I expected, but it's still not great. That said, since the target, demographic probably doesn't care about cameras, it's really not that bad at all.

In the grand scheme of things, this is probably the feature that matters least in the key one, and because of that, it's good enough that they even included one. Now all of that isn't to say that the cameras on this phone are bad at all. It performs really well and the pictures are actually quite sharp, but it's just not the selling point of this phone, so I don't think it's very important. The display is, of course, cut off by the keyboard, so it's running at just 16 20 by 1080. That means it's not quad HD, but it's completely fine, because the key one hasn't been designed for media consumption.

That said, it actually isn't too bad in my daily usage, even watching YouTube videos, because you really don't lose much with this display, they've kept the size of this phone almost exactly the same as the s8, which means that you really don't lose as much screen to the keyboard, as you might think at first and that's obviously a really present surprise. Nothing really stands out as amazing with this display, but when doing things like writing long emails or video scripts, this is a perfect size for the smartphone they've also included USB, see- and this was perfect to see, because, honestly, knowing blackberry for this long sticking to micro USB, sounds like exactly the type of wrong decisions like very loves, to make so good job on not messing that up so overall, the BlackBerry key one is a great smartphone, but it really just comes down to the physical keyboard. If you want the physical keyboard, it really doesn't take much brain power to make the decision that you're going to pick up the BlackBerry key one, and that was exactly the case. For me, this is a perfect smartphone and if you're continuously writing emails- and you want that added benefit of the physical keyboard, which makes you write better, potentially even faster and more accurately like it does. For me, this is a perfect choice and I would recommend it to everyone out there.

Personally, of course, this is my favorite smartphone of all time. Right now, that's always been the case with each blackberry released, even if I do end up using other smartphones, once I'm done testing the BlackBerry for its price, though this does feel kind of questionable. The specs that they've offered and the price that they've got this site just doesn't really correspond very well, but when you consider that they've also included the fingerprint scanner, it's really not too bad, but guys I really hope. You've enjoyed this video. If you have make sure you hit that, like button subscribe, if you're new on hair, and I'm out peace.
