BlackBerry KEY2 IS OK! CORRECTION VIDEO. T-Mobile IS NOT Killing It!

Hey everybody welcome back to tech odyssey, so I'm back with a correction video before anybody gets too worried. Yesterday I made a video saying that the ke2 is not going to work on T-Mobile starting in 2021. I was very concerned about that because, of course I do have a ke2. I have two of them. Furthermore, I absolutely love them, but I didn't think that the key2 supported voice over LTE. Furthermore, I knew that the phone itself was capable of it, but it doesn't work on ATT.

They att they don't provision it. It's not listed to work on their network. They only let voice over LTE work on their own branded phones that you buy from the carrier with T-Mobile. I thought that they just didn't work with it and apparently that's only calls over Wi-Fi. So I did some testing I had.

I asked a couple of people and I did a lot of research prior to making the video yesterday because of course I love my phones. I want them to work, especially my ke2's, like I said I just got the silver one, and I've really been enjoying using it, but I thought that it wasn't going to work, and apparently it will- and I did some research on the internet because normally it shows like v-o-l-t-e on some older phones in letting you know that voice over LTE works. But in this one, if you go into the phone signal phone network settings, you can look at it at least the IMF settings and see that voice over LTE is an option when you use voice over LTE. That means that it's using enhanced network capabilities for making the phone call, and you'll see the HD phone call pop up on the screen. What happens if your phone doesn't support voice over LTE, and I learned this over the last.

You know day as I was doing some more research, whatever you're, using your phone, a way that you can find out if it supports voice over LTE, even if it shows LTE, is to make a phone call. If you make a phone call and the LTE drops off, and it just goes to 4g, then you know that voice over LTE doesn't work. I tried that on the blackberry key2, it works perfectly fine. The LTE signal stays there as long as the voice over LTE option is enabled which it is by default. Apparently, if you turn voice over LTE off, and you make a phone call on it, it does drop to 4g and then, when you're done with the phone call, it reconnects the network, and you see the LTE pop back on another indicator while you're on the phone call is, it will show that it's a HD quality phone call.

So those two things right there tell me that voice over LTE will work with the ke2 and your ke2 will continue to work on T-Mobile, and you don't have to go worry about. If it's going to stop working in 2021. However, you do have to worry about it for a t, starting in 2022 in 2022 they're, getting rid of phones that don't support voice over LTE, but the thing is, even though the ke2 does support voice over LTE. It's not provisioned to work on their network; they don't recognize it. So I thought the same thing was working with T-Mobile, but apparently that's not the case, so keep using your ke2 don't worry about it.

However, this does open up the larger conversation that I was talking about in the video telling you that any blackberry that doesn't support voice over LTE will stop working on T-Mobile, starting in 2021. Basically, that's going to affect your legacy devices and probably some blackberry, 10 devices. I don't know if any of them support voice over, LTE and if they do, which ones, but I'm going to have to do some more research on this. If you have an android device, if you have a, if you have a blackberry, android device, it should be. Okay, that's no guarantees, but I know at least the PRI and newer and of course the PRI was the first blackberry device running android.

I know the PRI, I know the key one, the key2, the only ones that I have question marks on right now, kind of are like the due devices, but I think they're, okay, and I actually have a due 60 that should be showing up in the next couple of days. So I'm going to test that out myself, but I will readdress this later on, so we can cover exactly which ones, but I think the good general rule of thumb here is if it's a PRI or newer. I think it's going to be okay with T-Mobile now at t completely different story, but no worries continue to use your ke2. Sorry, if I got anybody overly concerned or worried if you could see in the video, I was very uh concerned and very unhappy about it, because I thought that I wasn't going to be able to use my awesome q2 anymore, and I wanted to make sure people knew but seems like all that, spurred a bigger question, and it will be okay, so don't worry now! That's all I've got again. I'm sorry for running up the flagpole, something a little too premature and being wrong about it, but I'm glad I'm wrong.

I'm glad that it is going to continue to work and that we don't have to worry about that, because of course this is the best and brightest that is on the market for us to use right now and of course there are no new devices inside so there you have it keep using your ke2 on T-Mobile, keep being happy, of course, that should extend to uh. Think simple mobile that uses a T-Mobile networks. Mint mobile and metro by T-Mobile should all be fine as well. So that's all I've got guys. Um yeah, that's pretty much it.

I don't have anything else to talk about, but I wanted to go and get this video out as soon as possible to let you know: you're, okay, so thanks again guys I'll catch you on the next video and keep using and enjoying your blackberries see you all later.
