Before you buy the M1 iPad Pro 2021, WATCH THIS VIDEO!

The iPad Pro 2021, the m1 version is right around the corner and the hype is real tons of people talking about it. Uh we're talking. I know I've been saying how amazing this product is, but for you, you might wonder, should you buy it and certainly, depending on what product you already have, I believe will dictate your choice whether you should buy the iPad Pro. But the thing is: there are some things you kind of need to know about it. I guess we're going to have to talk about it right after this. What up players welcome back and for all you knew people welcome.

My name is Travis and I do tech videos every single week and have a blast doing what that sounds like fun to you, sit back, relax and enjoy the video anything I talk about will be in the description below, but for now, let's just get into the video. So the newest iPad is amazing, with the m1 processor and all types of cool new technology, especially depending on which size you get, but the iPad Pro is not new. I mean there's been an iPad Pro for many years now, and this particular design is pretty much the third generation uh the one without an actual button, and I've been using the iPad Pro 11 and 12.9 over the last couple of years to edit this very channel. I love it, and I'm looking forward to getting the new one, but there are some caveats and I don't necessarily think the iPad Pro is for everybody. So if you want to know more about the iPad Pro hit, that subscribe button hit that like button as we try to hit the next subscriber goal and by the way I've actually done a video about some aspects of the iPad Pro that I think some people have overlooked.

I'll leave a link for that in the description below, because there's some fascinating things going on. So, first, who is an iPad 4, and who is an iPad Pro for well? In my estimation, the iPad is for just about anyone, even if you have an android phone long before I had an iPhone, I had an iPad and I loved being able to put down my phone and use my iPad for any type of browsing or any type of functionality that I wanted to use. When I was home, I personally never take them out of the house, but you totally can do that as well. There are cases and all types of cool things for that now the iPad Pro is another level, that is, for the professional at least that's what they may have. You think in some ways, when the iPad Pro first came out, it was just a spec bump, just a slightly better version of the existing iPad, whether it be a slightly bigger screen or a slightly better processor or whatever the case may be.

It was just a slight bit better, but this year let me tell you something: uh, they mean serious business. Now a lot of people talk about how the m1 is in this iPad Pro and how that's an amazing thing and that that is true for sure, but not for the reason. Some people may tell you, because, while yes, indeed the m1 is in the newest, desktops and laptops from apple, the m1 is actually a version of the a14, the processor that would have been in the iPad anyway. The a14x is what they probably would have called it just a different lettering convention and with all the great press around the m1 processor, there was no reason to not call it the m1 into the iPad, and it really blew some people's minds. Ironically, the same exact thing that would have been in there anyway gets a little better press now to be clear in my videos about the MacBook Air.

How amazing the m1 is in that I mean listen. I expect the same things from the iPad Pro and I think a lot of people are the same. It's just interesting that when people talk about how this is going into the iPad and that it's a desktop level processor, which technically is true because you know the Mac mini and the new iMacs have that exact processor um, it's actually again more of an interesting thing that they took an iPad processor and put it into a desktop, rather than the other way around. So again, that's not to say that it's not a beast processor, it absolutely is or a system on a chip. However, you want to call it, but it's actually was going to be in this thing, the entire time now, not only are there two sizes there's actually two configurations of ram on this iPad, pro something that we've not really seen before, and the fact that you actually know what type of ram and how much ram is in each one of these is really unusual.

I actually talked about this in depth in my last video, so I highly recommend you go check that I'll leave a link in the description below, but the long. The short of it is, if you get the one terabyte or two terabyte versions of either size, the 11 or the 12.9 you're, getting 16 gigs of ram uh. If you get anything lower than that you're getting eight, and I have real thoughts as to why they've done that again. Make sure you watch that video now to me and you that will probably mean very little uh. I don't believe you're going to see any real performance differences between all the apps and stuff that are available today notice.

I said apps available today, we'll have to wait and see what happens in the future. Now, if you want the latest display technology, you're going to have to go all the way up to the 12.9 inch version of the iPad Pro, and I will tell you as someone who had the 11 inch 2018 up to the 12.9 inch version of the 2020 iPad Pro the size difference is significant and, from my perspective, it's a lot about portability. But since I do all my editing on my iPad Pro, I wanted to be able to see more of my editing space, so the 12.9 made sense for you. If you just want a really powerful iPad, I believe the 11 inch will do just fine, but again, if you want mini, led you're going to have to get the 12.9 inch version with the extra size and perhaps some new accessories, which I will talk about furiously later. Both sizes now support thunderbolt, which is a great way to transfer your videos and pictures to and from the iPad Pro I mean it's going to be super stupid fast and again the questions as to why they would need to do that.

I think I've answered in my last video, but it's great to know that if you have an older version of iPad- and maybe you transfer files to and from it- and you don't want to use airdrop, you have a very fast wired way of doing that. If you're interested in doing video calls or anything like that, the front-facing camera now has a wide angle, and it's supposed to be a much better quality along with the center stage thing where it keeps you in the center of the video as you move around it, I mean it looks pretty cool, it's pretty neat for some things. I don't know how much you're going to use that for me. That actually would almost make more sense to have that technology in base level iPads, where people are doing a lot of face time, calls and stuff, and I suspect, we'll see that kind of trickle down over time, because it's more of a technology thing than anything, they just need a wide angle lens and then the software to do it. So maybe you just put that on the next iPad.

I would just not buy an iPad for that particular feature. I can't imagine anyone would the 11-inch version of the iPad Pro is the same price as last year. So, basically, if you were looking at getting one of the iPad pros in the last couple of months, but didn't pull the trigger, you should definitely pull the trigger on the 11 inch this year. Uh. However, if you're looking for the 12.9 that actually went up 100 and, of course we can kind of blame- the micro LED screen for that which allegedly will look better, and we'll have deeper blacks and some other cool things. So we won't really know until we see it.

I highly recommend that you go to your local Apple Store and look at the two side by side and see if you can see a difference and see if you think it's worth the money again. Really it's more about the size than display panel in my estimation, but that new mini LED display will get really bright and is awesome for HDR. The iPad Pro now supports 5g, and I'm going to say if you have an iPhone already, you may not even need to get this as iPhones and iPads can actually hotspot to each other like seamlessly like it's its a feature. Its pretty darn cool the way it works. It's pretty amazing.

I can't really see a reason why you have to get the 5g version and just not hotspot from your phone, but if you have a reason, why leave me a comment below and tell me why? And by and large, if you have accessories from the 11-inch iPad Pro from last year or the year before, they should work with this new version, but there's a little of controversy when it comes to the 12.9 version, which is what I have if you went out and bought the stupid expensive magic keyboard like I did, there is now a rumor. I guess you could call it that it won't work with this newer version of iPad Pro, presumably because it's a little thicker now I don't know if that part is true. If that's the reason why? But here's a couple of things that are true number one: the 2020 version of the magic keyboard, which you would think if it was working uh with the newest version, is no longer available on apple site, they've put out the new version. Now we don't know what the difference there is other than there's now a white color, but um that does not bode well. Now.

There's a lot of talk on the internet right now saying that it's more about how it won't close all the way. I guess, because it's a little thicker, does not mean that it won't work. Um like your keyboard, might actually work, but we don't know, and unfortunately, until we have them in hand, we won't know, but just keep in mind if you're getting the 12.9 inch like me, and you already have a magic keyboard, you may have to re-buy a magic keyboard which, by the way, if that's the case, I going to throw the thing into the ocean. Now, not everyone upgrades every single year. I mean you shouldn't need to.

If you have the 2020 version of the 12.9 iPad Pro, I'm not going to suggest you upgrade to this version, but I mean for god's makes like when I come out with a product that lasts more than one year one product and again yeah. You shouldn't buy a product hoping and praying that it'll work for the next year's product. Okay, you buy it for the year. You got it, but if it works for the 11 inch come on man can't you figure this out and if there's no program by apple, to like help trade it in and give me some type of credit. Now, you've got to try to sell your magic keyboard either by itself or bundle it with your iPad Pro.

And if someone wants to buy your iPad Pro, they may not want the magic keyboard, or at least pay more for it, so apple kind of sticks. You appreciate that apple appreciate that, but does that mean that it's not going to work? No we're going to have to wait to find out hit the subscribe button I'll be doing a review I'll. Let you know if it works or not promise you I'll, let you know, but should you buy the 2021 version of the iPad Pro the m1 version of the iPad Pro? Well again, I'm going to split this into professionals and pretty much everyone else. Everyone else can get along with the iPad Air, the new one that looks kind of like an iPad Pro or the base level iPad, which is just over 300 and get the vast majority of the same functionality. Be quite honest I mean most of you do not need an iPad Pro.

It's not really going to do anything for you. As a matter of fact, the performance on even the base level iPad is incredible. The a12 processor is stupid fast. So for the most part, I'm going to say no, if you have a 2018, and I'm going to say even 2020 iPad Pro, because basically the same exact thing with only one extra GPU in the 2020 version, the processor is exactly the same. Otherwise, um again, I'm going to say no, unless, for some reason that mini LED display on the 12.9 inch is something that you need not necessarily just one but absolutely need. When it comes to me, I probably am going to do it because I run my business off of it.

I edit my videos on here it's going to help me somewhat at least I hope either edit and export videos faster or make me give me the ability to see colors better or something I don't know I'd. Listen, I'm doing it because you guys want me to get it and review it for you, so you don't have to buy it. That's basically the reason and at the end of the day, if you have not bought anything- and you were thinking about getting an iPad Pro, there's no reason to not get this other than the fact that the last year's iPad Pro and even 2018s are pretty inexpensive right now, especially if you look at the Amazon renew program or something like that, secondhand um, or even some of the sales that are going to be kicking off here really soon, as the 2121's come into stock most places. So if you don't need the latest and greatest get the 2020 or 2018 version again, those two are basically exactly the same. So if you can get a 2018 version for a perfect price, just go ahead, and do that trust me when I tell you that in the 2018 are basically the same exact thing for everyone else like me, that needs to have the latest and greatest for no good apparent reason.

I guess I'll see you on the other side of the aisle, as I give them my credit card, and they take on my money, and then I probably got to buy another magic keyboard for no good reason, unlike apple sometimes. But what do you think tell me in the comments below? Are you going to get an iPad Pro 2021 with the m1 core processor? Listen, I'm excited about the m1. I really want to see what it can do in suffusion for me, if I can export videos faster, I'm all about that life, but I have some other videos here and here and don't forget to watch that video. I told you the other day about what I think the iPad Pro is going to do baby, as this thing has so much ram. It's ridiculous I'll see you next time.

Peace and love you.
