ASUS Zenfone 8 Unboxing & First Impression. The High Performance Compact Flagship You Been Waiting? By Marc Yeo Tech Review

Hey guys this is mark Joshi again and welcome back to my channel yup. Most of you guys guessed it right with me here. I have the latest flagship by ASUS the before 8. One thing that caught my attention was actually the compact size of this phone that ASUS offers, but at the same time still offer flagship specs like snapdragon, 2.8, 120hz, refresh rate AMOLED display by Samsung that support HDR, 10 plus dual high-res stereo, speaker great camera setup, and even the top spec offers 16 gigs of ram wow. I've used before before 2 and before 5z previously, and this is really a huge comeback by ASUS in Malaysia. So I'm actually very excited to try this for now.

The unboxing: let's try to appreciate the box, shall we, the color that I chose was silver.

I purposely chose this color silver color, because I think that some of you guys have seen the black color before 8 before, so this is actually a simple silver color box and to the left to the right below on top at the back. Here you have some brief information that you can refer to the first one is color, so this one is silver color, and it has 8 gigs of ram and 128 gigs of internal storage with UFS 3.1. So this is actually a 5g phone with dual sim support. The screen size is 5.92 inch, full HD, plus AMOLED display, and if I'm not mistaken, there should be a bumper case inside this phone and the chipset is snapdragon triple eight. Lastly, the selfie camera is 12 megapixels and the rear cameras.

There are two with the mean shooter 64, megapixel and 12 megapixel ultra-wide lens. As usual. Let me try to temp you guys by opening the plastic wrapper nice defy ordinary after you open the box. You'll be welcome with these few items. The first one is definitely the phone here, which is actually pretty light at 169 gram, not bad, and you have an inner insert here: okay, define ordinary, and once you open it, there's a sim ejector nice and also some documentation, warranty card user guide, and there is a there's a bumper case here wow.

I love it very nice looking and very textured feeling here nice next we have a type c to type c, cable and, lastly, a three pin charger plug with maximum of 30 watt of fast charging. Wow, guys look at the back here: it's actually not bad, it's actually plain and simple, and the color silver just look nice and the back is actually protected with corning gorilla, glass, 3 and you guys will be happy to know that the back is actually matte finish, so you won't be prone to fingerprint very nice and the weight is 169 gram which I mentioned just now, which is actually pretty light, and it's actually pretty compact. I love it. So, as I mentioned previously, this one actually has a dual camera setup at the back, whereby the main camera is actually 64 megapixels, and you have a 12, megapixel, ultra-wide angle lens, which also can take macro shots with close-up details. The main camera 64 megapixels has OS optical image, stabilization support and also this camera can actually take 8k video at 24 frames per second or 4k, video at 30 or 60 frames per second.

So this is actually awesome guys. This is actually a compact phone, but it's actually a bit thick at 8.9 millimeter and to the right. You actually have the power button and also the volume rocker up and down, which is actually quite sturdy, and on top you have the secondary microphone and also a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack wow. This is still here nice and to the left, nothing except for antenna, bands and below you actually have a dual sim slot: okay, which doesn't support micro SD card, and you have primary microphone, the type c port and also a bottom firing speaker- and you have the earpiece here, which also acts as a secondary speaker nice. So guys.

I already finished setting up the phone and, as you can see here, you have a small puncher here that houses, the 12 megapixel selfie camera, and basically you can see that there's a small change here: okay still noticeable, and the bat there's a bezel here and there. Basically, this is actually based on zen UI by ASUS, but it gives you that kind of stock android view and if you go to setting go to display- and here it's actually set at auto by default, but you can actually change the refresh rate to 120, 90 or 60. So for me, I will go to 100 120 hertz, refresh rate to get the best scrolling experience. So let you all have a little gauge on the bezel size. Okay, just in case you guys are wondering and if you go to setting, and you scroll down to system and go to yep, so you can see that this is actually based on android 11 by ISA, ASU's own zen UI.

Overall, the experience has been very smooth. I, like it, the box you actually have 109 gigabyte free, so 15 of the storage being used are from 128 gigs, so guys as usual before we end the video. Let us do a speaker test on this phone, so this one actually supports dual stereo speakers on top here at the earpiece and also the bottom firing speaker and let me bump up the volume to the max uh wow, I'm very impressed the loudness and also the bass uh, there's no beast yet that I can hear, but the loudness is definitely in my top 5 list. Wow, it's impressive. I must say so there you go guys.

My first impression of the latest flagship by ASUS seriously, I'm quite impressed with the specification of this compact flagship, especially on the favorite screen, and also the dual stereo speakers, and I got this phone from Maya store in pj ss2, and currently they're having special promotion for this before 8 for two six, nine ringgit blaster you'll get all these gift from them. One thing I would like to stress is that ASUS Malaysia is giving out solid suitcase by rhino shield for free for early adopters, but is on first come first basis, so I have one here to show you guys. Let me open it, take it out wow and let me peel up the stickers nice wow. This is a very nice case. Surely it will be useful to protect your before 8 very nice and the textured honeycomb texture inside so guys I'll be testing this phone for the next one to two weeks as my daily driver.
