ASUS ROG Phone Review & Camera Samples - The Best Gaming Smartphone?

Hey guys Roger here- and this is the Zeus DOG Android gaming phone, which costs just under nine hundred dollars in the U. S. or 800 pounds in the UK, and this is a powerful device with very good specs and an awesome design, and it has some very clever extra features that I really do. Think gamers will appreciate, as some of you guys will know if I went to the Asus UK office a few weeks ago to unbox the phone and an entire suitcase full of accessories. Now I will say right at the start that I absolutely love this handset and after using it for a few weeks. This is my review.

So the DOG phone comes with the arrow active cooler, which is a fan that keeps the phone call while you're gaming, and you also get a 30 watt power adapter for fast charging, a braided, USB, cable and a pair of earbuds. Now the handset has a snapdragon, 845, outscore processor and that's running at 2.96, gigahertz, Anand, Reno, 630, GPU and 8 gigs of ram. This model has a hundred and twenty-eight gigs of internal storage, and it has a 1080p AMOLED display and that's covered in 6th gen 2.5 D Corning, Gorilla Glass, and the display, of course, has an impressive 90. Hertz refresh rate, hey Zeus, seem to have thought about this handset very carefully and for a gamer I think it ticks all the right boxes now they've designed what they call a 3d vapor chamber inside the phone and that helps to keep it cool and personally I, think they've done a good job of making the vents on the back of the phone fit in well with the overall design. Now I've spent a lot of time watching videos on YouTube and Netflix and I really am happy with the display, which is very bright.

It's also very clear and the colors are nice and vibrant too. The front-facing stereo speakers are also pretty good, but, as is the case with most mobile phones, a little more bass would make a big difference. Gaming is, of course, the main focus of this phone and a zoo have created software called Game Center. Now that allows you to check the current status of the processor and the GPU, but it also allows you to control everything. Game related, such as the air triggers on the edge of the device and the air triggers do actually make some games.

I've played easier, now, they're very easy to set up, and you can choose what each air trigger does by simply dragging a colored circle to a particular part of the screen. Game Center also lets you control the color of the RGB logo on the back of the and a lot of other things too, such as the speed of the fan when you're using that arrow active cooler, you can even set up the air triggers to launch different apps for a short or a long press, and they can do different things when the screen is on or off. Another great feature is live-streaming, and you can stream to YouTube or twitch directly from the handset. As far as the gaming experience goes is the best I've had on any Android device. And yes, there are lots of extra gaming features, but thanks to the phone's hardware, everything runs smoothly and there's absolutely no lag at all.

I've literally played everything from asphalt, 9 to Super, Mario run and all the games that I've played have run it extremely well. It does help, of course, that the display has that 90 Hertz refresh rate and the first time you pick this phone up. You really can notice the difference if you've watched my videos before then you'll know that I love playing fortnight now. Sadly, as you can't download fortnight from the Google Play Store, the air triggers won't work with the game. However, a fortnight does run very well on the DOG phone for the last few weeks.

This has been my only handset, and that means I've had time to use all of its other features. It does have a headphone jack, which I'm pleased about a USB type-c charging port, and it also supports fast charging, which is very important to me. It doesn't support wireless charging, but it can fast charge to 60% in about 30 minutes, which is impressive. The four thousand William hour battery lasted for about five hours of constant gameplay and I still had more than a 25% charge, which I think is fairly good. Sometimes, however, I've played with the phone while it's charging and that way, I don't have to worry about how much battery I have left with normal usage, though the battery has been lasting for about 24 hours and I.

Don't think that's bad at all for this kind of device onto the camera then, and the DOG phone does have a very similar set up for the before 5 that I reviewed earlier this year. It has an 8 megapixel, front-facing camera and on the back, you'll find the main 12 megapixel F 1.7 lens, and there is also a secondary wide-angle lens for those wider shots. Looking at some sample shots, I think the image quality from the main camera is very good. There's plenty of detail and the dynamic range is pretty good too. As with the before 5, the wide-angle lens gives you a much wider image, but you will definitely get better quality using that main camera.

It also handles low light images fairly well, and you can see that it managed to capture a fair amount of detail and images taken using the front-facing camera onto bad either. The main camera can shoot 4k video at 60 frames per second, and you can definitely see the stabilization doing its thing if you drop to 30 frames per second, though you'll have the option to disable stabilization. Should you want to so? If you saw my unboxing video, then you'll know all about the accessories for this phone, including the YP, be displayed off, and that mirrors your phone's display wirelessly and some other accessories too, such as the twin view, dock, which does make the whole gaming experience even better. The DOG phone really is a beast, and it has clearly been designed for gamers, but it is capable of running absolutely anything I've thrown at it. I would consider myself a power user and need a device.

That's powerful enough to keep up with me having a lot of apps open at the same time and constantly switching between them. I really am happy with the performance of the phone, and I won't be switching to anything else anytime soon. If you would like to know more about the DOG phone or where to buy it, as always, I'll leave links in the description below I hope you enjoyed the video guys. If you did, please give it a thumbs up and don't forget to subscribe so that you don't miss. My next video also leave me a comment below and tell me what you think of the DOG phone I'm Roger with life of tech.

Thanks a lot for watching, and I'll, see you in the next one.
