Apple's new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR REVEALED!

- Now look how much bigger the iPhone XS Max is when compared to the standard iPhone XS. It is September, 2018. If you're tech fan then you know that September means that it's time for Apple to take the stage and reveal their new iPhones. There's excitement in the air. Things are at a fever pitch. The rumor mill is going crazy.

So let's break through all the rumors and talk about everything that we're gonna be seeing during Apple's Gather Round keynote. What's going on tech squad, Andru Edwards here, editor in chief of GearLive. com. If this is your first time here this channel's all about tech, gadgets and gaming. As I mentioned today we are talking about all of the upcoming announcements for Apple's Gather Round event taking place tomorrow at 10:00 AM Pacific time and that's where Apple will be announcing its new smartphones, its new Apple watch, reintroducing us to the AirPower mat, and also giving us some slightly updated AirPods. The iPhone's gonna be the big story. The iPhone is Apple's biggest product and as I mentioned it's going to be multiple iPhones; iPhones plural. And this year there will be three new iPhones. First up we're going to see the brand new iPhone XS.

The iPhone XS will look just like this; 5.8 inches, dual camera system on the back, upgraded Apple A12 processor, we'll either see more RAM, or faster RAM, or both, faster graphics, hopefully and potentially faster wireless charging. The current iPhone X charges at 7.5 watts. I'd love to see that get bumped up to 10 or even 15. We're also hearing about dual sim functionality. It's not something that most people will use but it is a nice feature to have to be able to put a second sim card in your phone especially if you travel a lot.

If you're into colors you know Apple likes to switch up colors on an annual basis. The iPhone XS will ship not only in the space gray and the silver colors that the iPhone X shipped in, but will also come in a new stainless steel gold color as well. Now if you wanted the iPhone XS but you wanted a bigger screen and you were bummed last year that there wasn't a bigger version, this is the year for you, because we will also see the iPhone XS Max. That's right XS Max, not XS Plus. In previous years the Plus meant it's a bigger phone that also had extra features that the smaller version didn't have.

So typically on the Plus phones you might see a dual camera system, or you might see optical image stabilization. This year it appears the two flagship phones will be virtually identical, with the exception of screen size and battery size. And hey, this is gonna be the biggest iPhone of all time, 6.5 inch display, so I can definitely see why they want to set that apart from the Plus branding and instead they wanna go with something to make it sound a little more colossal like Max, regardless of how un-cool that sounds. As far as pricing goes, the iPhone XS should start at $899. That is a $100 price difference, and price drop, from what the iPhone X launched at.

Meanwhile the iPhone XS Max should start at $999, which means the bigger display is inheriting the larger price tag that the smaller phone launched at last year. But that is not all. As I mentioned there will be three new phones this year. So we've got the iPhone XS. We've got the iPhone XS Max.

And there is a third one. The name is kind of up in the air, but this is it right here. This is the new iPhone XC, or iPhone XR, depending on which rumor you're listening to, depending on which website you're listening to, depending on which analyst you're listening to. Now to me iPhone XC would make the most sense, however the more trustworthy analysts are saying it's the iPhone XR. What's interesting about this is this is the entry level iPhone, however it has a bigger screen than the iPhone X, so it's gonna cost less.

This one should start at $699 but it has a 6.1 inch display instead of the 5.8 inch display found on the iPhone XS. Now as you can see there's only one camera on this one, it does not have a dual camera system, and the display on the iPhone XR or XC will be an LCD display, not an OLED display. However that's a full screen LCD display which means the home button here in 2018 is officially dead and gone. The only way to get the home button on an iPhone is to buy an iPhone from a previous year. All the new iPhones are going with the iPhone X form factor, which means touch ID is gone, face ID is in, no more home button.

Other items to note on the iPhone XC or XR, whatever that entry level model ends up being called, it will also ship with Apple's A12 processor, the new processor Apple's putting across the board in all the iPhones. Since it's entry level it'll have an aluminum frame instead of a stainless steel one, and this one is going to ship in multiple colors. So aside from the typical silver, space gray, and gold, we should also be seeing at the very least a red model and a blue model. Now analysts are also saying we should expect even more colors including orange, yellow, and taupe. If they do drop that orange color you know I'm getting that one on day one.

New iPhone day is always an exciting day even if you're not an iPhone fan you have to admit that the new iPhones pretty much dictate where the mobile industry will go that year. If you don't believe me just check out all the phones that have been released after the iPhone X with the exception, and you've got to give them credit, the Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy S9. Samsung stuck to their own guns and didn't shift towards the Apple way of doing things. Most of the other major manufacturers did. - We are calling it iPhone.

(audience applauding) Today we're introducing the iPhone 3G. - And that's why I'm really excited to tell you about an entirely new version; the iPhone 3GS. (audience applauding) - We're introducing iPhone 4. - I'm really pleased to tell you today all about the brand new iPhone 4S. Today we're going to introduce iPhone 5.

And the first one is called iPhone 5C. The second is called iPhone 5S. - The iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus. The iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus. This is iPhone 7.

iPhone 8. One more thing. (audience applauding) This is iPhone X. - So those are the iPhones but that is not all that Apple will be announcing. They are also announcing the new Apple Watch Series 4.

This leaked a couple of weeks ago, giving us a picture of what the Apple watch is gonna look like and what we can tell right away is that the Apple Watch Series 4 has a bigger display with a higher resolution screen. It'll also work with the same watch bands Apple's been selling since the Apple Watch launched. And the leak also confirmed it'll have the same gold stainless steel color option that's coming to the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max. Now rumors are also saying the back of the new Apple Watches across the board will all have ceramic backing instead of the glass backing that we found on the entry level models. We should be expecting better battery life although I don't think the battery life in the Series 3 is all that bad; I get about two days out of it, a day and a half or two days.

Better battery life is always a welcome thing. No word on pricing. I assume Apple watch pricing will stay the same as it was last year, they'll just bump down the Series 3 and price the Series 4 at what the Series 3 launched at last year. That's just a guess, no guarantees on that. A couple of other items Apple should be announcing tomorrow, the first of which should be the AirPower mat.

AirPower was announced over a year ago at WWDC. It's basically a wireless charging mat that allows you to place your devices anywhere on the mat and have them start charging. The supported devices would be your iPhone, your Apple Watch, and your AirPods, if you buy the new AirPods case which supports wireless charging. Apple said AirPower would ship in 2018. Everyone's been wondering, where is AirPower? They said 2018.

Well 2018 hasn't ended yet. Apple has until January 1st to get this out the door. The new iPhone announcement is the perfect place to also announce that AirPower ship date. And lastly there is AirPods. Apple should be announcing a new AirPods case which is compatible with AirPower, and should also be releasing a slightly updated version of AirPods as well, that would likely be listening for your Hey Siri commands.

But again this is gonna be a very small update. The actual successor to the current AirPods, we will see that until next September. If you're waiting on iPads, the new iPad Pros, the new Macbooks. If you're hoping to see those tomorrow I think you're gonna be very disappointed. Apple never launches iPhones and iPads at the same event.

I think we'll see those next month in October. Any questions about any of this stuff, any of your predictions that you have, drop 'em down in the comments below.
