Apple definitely surprised many of us when they unveiled the new, more affordable Apple Watch. Se, alongside their flagship, I guess I'll call it. The series 6 Apple Watch with an incredible price tag of the SE, starting at 279 dollars for the entry level model which I'm wearing currently right. Now on my wrist and yes, there is a LTE cellular option available which fun fact the LTE version of the Apple Watch. Se, it's still a lot more affordable compared to the entry level price of the series. Six base model Apple Watch.
So should you really buy a series six, or are you better off going with the SE Apple Watch? Well, let's go ahead and find out after my real world experience with both of these devices as I'm going to go ahead and show you my thoughts, my experience from a consumer who happens to be a YouTuber, I guess point of view, and I'll. Let you know if it's really worth going with the series 6 or if I was really better off with just a regular SE. Let's begin so side by side really, both body designs are 100 identical, which is great. This means all the previous accessories that you may already have. Maybe you are coming from like a series.
Four accessories are a lot more easy to come by, especially since the SE shares the same exact body. If I literally take a case from my midnight blue series 6, I can fit it on the SC, just fine, no interference issues whatsoever and, to be honest, when they're turned off side by side again, they're 100, identical the only big major differences are the internal specs, which actually shows more similarities than I was originally anticipating. As a fine example, both actually have 32 gigabytes of internal storage, which, in my opinion, is morning enough that anybody will need they both connect with Bluetooth 5. So you can connect a pair of Bluetooth headphones or your AirPods without experiencing any latency whatsoever. They both have the same w3 ship great for pairing.
LTE is optional. The microphone and speaker are the same as well same two size choices to choose from 40 and a 44, and they both share the same exact water resistant rating up to 50 meters. Accelerometer is exactly the same. Just the only big major differences are the internal ships. For instance, the series 6 is said to be 20 faster, but for my real world experience, the s5 chip that's found on the SE still is fast enough.
Really, there probably is only a couple milliseconds differences in terms of its overall performance when it comes to loading general apps and such Wi-Fi is slightly better on the series six, as it not only supports the 2.4 gigahertz network, but can also support 5 gigahertz. But this doesn't really matter much because it all depends on the router that your home is using the advantages of having a 5 gigahertz. Broadband access is download. Time and speeds will be slightly better on the series six, whereas the SE, it can only connect to a 2.4 gigahertz network, but for my real world experience, I didn't really notice that much of a download difference in speed, so their displays are again 100 identical both are using the same exact hardware. Just, however, the SE is locked, and it's always on display technology.
For instance, the always on display is only available for the series six which, in my opinion, isn't so much of a dealbreaker it's cool to have, but it's not really necessary. The first five first generation apple watches were just fine. Without this feature, these two displays look really sharp, even in direct sunlight. Now, when we flip the two apple watches on their back new for the series, 6 is the blood oxygen sensor, which means there are additional sensors in the back here. Of course, it still has its ECG, which is why it has this Iron Man looking ring around the backside.
Where was the SE? It doesn't have this, but it does have the heart and sensor. In fact, if we go ahead and compare it against other generation apple watches, I literally own every single generation. If we go ahead and take a stainless steel series, 1 Apple Watch and put it alongside in my opinion, still looks a lot better. But if you take like a series, 4 or series, 5 you'll see what I mean by that ring. That is missing because it doesn't have ECG hardware inside it and if we take a general sport series, two or three Apple Watch and put it right underneath you'll see that's literally right in the middle in terms of premium quality which isn't bad for an affordable, modern day Apple Watch.
So the series 6 comes available in three different chassis materials to choose from you, get the choice between aluminum stainless steel and then titanium, and it comes included in a bunch of color choices to choose from the one you see here again. It's midnight blue. This is one of the new lineup colors that they added for the aluminum, and there also is a cool, unique product red version now available. The Apple Watch, SE is only available in aluminum, so aluminum is the only choice that you really have, but you could get it in gold, silver or space gray, which is what I have mine set as you can also use the apple creative suite or whatever they like to call it, where you guys really personalize it a little more you're able to swap the bands with even the more expensive ones like what I did was the solo nylon loop, which pro-tip, if you do, the apple printout. The thing that I learned, and hopefully you'll be able to learn from my mistake, is if it lands right there in the middle, just go one down.
Trust me if I'm done that it wouldn't end up being super loose like mine did, but if you're curious what my experience been like with the loop band, I love the material. I'm definitely going to go ahead and swap this, as Apple is now doing a swap program where you don't have to return the entire unit, you can just give them the band, and they will exchange it for one that actually fits, which is what I plan on doing, possibly right after this video. But this thing is cool and comfortable, just slightly more expensive than the traditional silicone one that they always use, but back to the subject at large, so yeah. Really the big differences between these two is its just the internal software and specs. So, even though the Apple Watch SE does not have a built-in ECG, it still is able to monitor your heart rate level.
It can still do the sleep tracking, just like the series. Six and other apple watches on the latest version of watch was seven. It still received. All the new watch faces that the series 6 has. You still have the important safety features like fall detection, just going with the series 6, you do get an ECG and a blood oxygen sensor which does automatically go on and will monitor your oxygen levels throughout the day, including when you're wearing it when you're going to sleep.
But the series 6 does have the new u1 chip inside, which is said. It's going to be used to locate your device faster, hinting the new air tag ship that's coming out soon. This watch already has this, so it's very likely to receive more new upcoming features and then, of course, both have the built-in compass, the decibel level monitoring capabilities both have that auto workout support. As soon as you start a workout both of these app watches have sensors that will automatically detect when you're doing a workout and will activate automatically without you, forgetting to accidentally log that exercise just a unique difference that the series 6 does have that the SE doesn't is the always on altimeter, which is very useful if you're constantly finding yourself going on hikes. So, if you're a hiker, I think you'll really appreciate this, but that's basically everything you're getting when it comes to the price tag differences between these two.
So at the end of the day, it really just comes down to personal preference. I know we all have different backgrounds. Some of us are on a really tight budget and some of us don't really care the new series. Six, in my opinion, is perfect for anybody who has a medical history or just likes to monitor their overall health on a day-to-day basis. The ability to take an ECG and export that as a PDF, that's really impressive and can be a very useful feature to share with your doctor or something and then the fact that it automatically will monitor your blood oxygen level.
That's really neat, too, to prevent any serious issues from occurring. Your Apple Watch will be able to notify you. If it detects an unusual pattern, then the SE can also help monitor your heart rate. So, if a notice that your heart rate is at a low level when you're at rest or your heart rate, is really high while you're at rest, it will also be able to notify you. Just more information will be collected, of course, on the series and then after using both of these devices.
For a couple of days now, I want to say that the battery life percentage is almost identical between these two, but I want to say I could squeeze a little more on the SE than I can on the series. Six. At the end of the day, I'm left with a little more extra juice on the SE than I am with the series six, but this could be because they're always on display and also the fact that the blood oxygen level monitoring usually goes on randomly just like the heart rate. Either way both of them will guarantee an all-day battery, but at the end of the day, I still think the Apple Watch, no matter which one you get. These two are still the best fitness trackers available in the market, especially the SE, for having a very affordable price tag, and, yes, both of these shards, the same exact way on that little Apple Watch, puck that we've been using even on the first generation series, 7000 or whatever.
That name originally was the same way as throughout the entire years of the first generation Apple Watch, so yeah at the end of the day, it's all just a personal preference but, in my opinion, I'll be able to get away just fine with the Apple Watch SE. I still think after using this thing, this thing is absolutely amazing: there's really no noticeable performance differences. The only thing I have noticed is that notification does come to my wrist slightly faster at times on the series six, but only like half a second or so faster, not so much that it makes it extremely noticeable guys if you'd like to see more make sure to hit that subscribe button, as I got more Apple Watch content coming out really soon.
