2017 iPad Pro vs 2019 iPad Air

So, what is up guys Nick here, helping you to master your technology, 2017 iPad Pro vs. , 2019, iPad, air or iPad Air 3 third generation over here, and many people had asking me Nick go ahead and do this comparison well here it is the first thing I noticed when I have seen this new guy over here is Wow Apple. You did it again. You made a product that looks rather boring similar to the last edition, but you did something that made me happy, and I think a lot of people happy that has decreased the price, but when you decrease the price, you also lose some things and that's what we're going to find out in this video today. But you also gain things because, after all, it is a later generation. Product like is from 2019 is from 2017 design.

Let's go there first, because we don't get one more time to waste so design on these guys right here, I mean, if you look at it on the front, you're going to be like I, don't know which one it is actually could have started. This video by saying, look guys, compare which one is, which is this one, the iPad Pro or is this one, the iPad Pro and at first glance, you wouldn't even unknown so design is pretty much the same, but that's good. If you used to have an iPad Pro, maybe you sold it off, but you weren't able to get rid of your old accessories, and now you bought an iPad Air. Yes, the Smart Covers will fit on both the air 3, and the 10.5, and many cases should likely fit on this guy as well. Ok, so what the Pro Series Apple made the bezels thinner on the sides top and bottom versus the older 9.7-inch tile iPads. You know they have the thicker bezels on the top in the bottom.

So that was the big deal here, but now that the Pearl 11 came out, and it has basically the all screen design with just like the iPhone 10s style, these tablets, starting to look dated as well. So you can see here on the back. We have a lighter color, Space Gray, but one difference. You'll notice, right away is the sham furred edges on this product. You can see how shiny they are on the side, I'm trying not to drop the slippery iPad.

It is pretty slippery button placement over here camera bump on the rear. We do have a power button up here for channel speakers. You do lose that for the design on the iPad Air, three or 2019 version. Now you do have matte edges all along the side: smart connector in the same location at the top there are no speakers, and then we have the volume markers right here power button, and then we have a camera right there, which is a downgrade we'll talk about that later in the camera portion. There is your stereo speakers and your Lightning port, no USB see so the downgrades on the design.

Are you don't have a flash? No more, which is not that cool? You don't have speakers on the top and the bottom just on the bottom here, but other than that they're about the same feeling tablet they boil have smart connectors but no magnets to put your Apple Pencil. So sorry, if you wanted to hold this you're, going to have to get a case. To do so now, in terms of displays, here is a big difference. We have a 120 Hertz display, which is silky smooth. The pro motion display over here.

That's one thing you might be asking: does it really make a difference and I would say yes? And no yes in that, if you're paying attention to it, it does make a difference. If you're, comparing it side by side, you can definitely see where the differences do lie. Now, it's mostly just in kind of like when you're scrolling, if you're really looking at it, you'll see it but opening applications. Also, the animations tend to look smoother a lot of the time, so it doesn't make any difference in video, so let's say you're watching an iPad video, for example, on the Castro main channel. You can see right here in video promotion, no promotion, it doesn't matter at all.

You're going to be watching the video, and you're not gonna care about that whatsoever. It's mostly a scrolling and a pinch to zoom in kind of thing where that really matters also in games. If you have you play a lot of games, and you want them to look super smooth gamers, you want the promotion, so the Apple Pencil 1st generation comes to both tablets were it was already on the 2017 comes to the iPad Air 3, and it's not 2nd gen I, don't really care, there's plenty of cases you can get. That will hold this thing. Just fine I, don't like the way.

It's designed how it goes in the bottom is like sticking out of the iPad here, but a charge is very fast works very well. It doesn't look quite as smooth as writing on the 60 Hertz as the 120 Hertz pro motion, but it's still very useful and could be very practical, especially if you're gonna video edit on your iPad Air 3 or, if you're, going to be doing sketches like I'm doing right here, so I'm, just making a little rough sketch of an iMac I'm going to try to draw a little Apple logo right there and, if you draw on it like I, say if you're, not comparing it side-by-side. I'm going to draw a little of bezel action right here, because the IMAX from 2019 still have the bezels all the way around the side, but overall I think you're going to be very happy with this Apple Pencil using it on an iPad Air 3. Considering that you can get the Apple Pencil, the iPad Air 3 and a keyboard case, we're probably around the same price as the starting price of an iPad Pro when it first launched. I'm going to make this section really short, because there's no sense in wasting your time software, its iOS on both they both have the same exact usage.

I mean you have the new multitasking tray right here. They both support gestures, Docs. They do the same exact thing. This one will be updated longer. That's the only thing you should keep in mind.

The a12 Bionic chip in here will make this one be updated longer. So if you're going to keep it, you know for five years, you might run out of updates first on this guy before this one, considering that this has the 10x, it's going to be a long time before this stops getting software support either. So when it comes to performance, this is an area. A lot of people are probably wondering about. This is not a speed test.

I, don't even have the same applications lined up here, but I've been running games on both of them and I never had an issue with the iPad Pro 2017 I was never like I need more performance on a new iPad over here. Even the pro 11 didn't impress me with its performance over the 2017 iPad Pro, which was already enough, but if you want a $500 iPad, that's a champ that runs like a pro in performance. The iPad Air 3 has got if it's a king, and when it comes to you, you know performance over here now. One thing: that's kind of tricky and a little weird I notice is that, even though this has an 8 12, the promotion display which I keep pushing in this video because it makes a huge difference, makes this one visually look faster. So if you've used this, you might feel like this feels slow it just it does that to your mind, because of how like less smooth, it looks, but when you're actually in the games, you're not really going to notice.

Much of a difference, so I mean technically from a technological standpoint. I can't sit up here and say: the iPad Pro is faster because the technologically speaking is in I, don't really care my usage and I. Don't think you would have either, so I would say, don't pick it just on the merit of the CPU, because that's probably not what's gonna matter the most to you here if we start running synthetic benchmarks. Of course, this one is just going to stop on the iPad Pro, but again we know that doesn't make a difference at all. In everyday usage for gigabytes of RAM, you lose a gig here of RAM, so if you're heavy in the multitasking, the pro is probably still the better device.

But if you just want that raw CPU for updates five years, you don't want to pay for a pro device. The air three still father I want to quickly discuss the cameras, because if you want to take photos on your iPad, there's no other choice here, but the iPad Pro 10.5. Yes, it has a camera. Baby said: there's something wrong with that. Did you because I did it, but if we hid the camera right here, you take a photo and this bright lighting I, don't care what I'm taking a photo of both of them are going to be hard to distinguish the difference, but you can't see a lot of grain, a lot of noise in the photos on the iPad Air? Three, definitely not one I would set up.

Take a video of them put on YouTube with this one. It's not going to be the best quality. Unless you know it's one of those moments, you know where it doesn't matter. The camera quality. If you care about your camera quality or your photography, the Apple iPad Pro has got this one beat every day of the week, so just go ahead and get the iPad Pro.

If you do want the best camera there's just no comparison, one can't even shoot 4k video. This one can now when it comes to audio quality again, the iPad Pro just destroys the iPad Air. Three four speakers I, don't even need to play a test. It's just totally obvious. You can see two at the top two at the bottom.

There's no need for a test, because it's just so much louder when you have four. In addition to that, those speakers were not weak on the iPad Pro if they were weak, and then you had four. That would be a problem, but they were very loud. Don't get me wrong. The iPad Air 3 has some pretty loudspeakers for just having to, and they sound fantastic, but they only fire at one side, this one's more of a stereo effect, because it's coming out all four it's more of a surround, sound effect.

So if you prop it up watching a movie, it kind of sounds like it's coming from everywhere. We don't know what you want to do when you're sitting in you know a room watching a movie. You want everything you want the sound to be great. I. Think the iPad Pro is a much better experience.

Okay, so a couple of things I want to cap this video off by saying the iPad Air 3 gives us Bluetooth 5.0. So it's a little quicker to connect to devices. Then the pro 10.5 was. We also do have a cheaper starting price for 99. This was 649 when it started, but you have less color options, and they're a little duller.

Looking you have the gold, you have the silver. In the space gray, you had gold silver, Space, Gray and rose gold. Apple why'd you get rid of rose gold, I. Think a lot of people liked that color, the southern animator chip in here is better than the 10 nanometer, but again in real world use. iPads perform so well.

You're, really not going to notice. That much unless Apple does something with the later version of iOS 13 that maybe takes advantage of that Apple a 12 CPU. We shall see going forward, you lose a gig of ram and that pretty much sums it up. I mean to be quite honest with you yeah, it's a slight lighter, but it's not that noticeable. This one's only about 13 grams, heavier, so they're, not that much different at the end of the day.

Now here is just my straight opinion. ?, you guys are like this is his bias objective. Whatever you want, this is my opinion I'm, giving it to you straight right now. The iPad Air 3 is not a good upgrade from the iPad Pro. Is it a better tablet than the iPad Pro? Should you just buy this one, or should you look for this one secondhand? It really depends on what you value.

Do you value technical processing performance? Yes, it's a better tablet. Do you care about Bluetooth connections, to the point where you need it to be the fastest Bluetooth connections in the world having apples, seven animator chips now in terms of the iPad, do you value a smooth display, I? Think if you draw it looks much smoother it's fun or to use a Honda, the iPad Pro 10.5. Do you watch movies a lot? Do you want a perfect sound? You want the iPad Pro 10.5 here. Do you want good performance, but you're not like obsessed with having the latest and greatest thing? Then you'll be fine with the processor, the 8 NO is still a champ. Do you care about your cameras on your tablet? The iPad Pro 10.5 is a win, so there's no clear winner, you've seen the areas I said, which one do you value more way that and then just buy that one anyway? What are your thoughts comment down below if you guys want to see a speed test between these two? Let me know as well thumbs up if you enjoyed it and Nick Kerr up in you to master your technology, be sure to be well. Thank you very much for watching I will catch you all in the next episode be sure to be well him.

Peace.
