Hey guys welcome back to pro nation and in this video we're taking a look at the Xiaomi Redmi 9t. This is a new budget. Smartphone coming into 2021 really excited to try this out, and let's share that with you. Let's get started, let's begin with some good old unboxing, the package is very similar to other Redmi devices. Very nice clean packaging inside the box. We have a 4gb of ram 64gb storage in carbon gray, getting into the box itself designed by Redmi.
You have a clear case included with it. Along with the manual and inside the box. You have the phone itself, but more on that later, you also have a charger included as well as a type-c cable. The phone exterior is made of plastic with a nice little raid design and a huge Redmi logo. You have a quad camera setup at the back and a type c input.
Setup process is very simple and straightforward, as any other android phone, and you're pretty much good to go and start using the phone. Now, just like the Poco m3, it comes with a 6.53 inch, full HD, plus lcd with a dot drop. The front camera is an 8 megapixel camera sensor and overall, the bezels are quite thin, except right there at the bottom, the chin bezel seems slightly larger than we're used to on smartphones. These days. Like many lcds, you don't have an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
It is located on the power button mount so to unlock it. You just tap on the power button, and it unlocks your phone right away. Now, looking at the overall design, it's built pretty. Well, I would say it's not a terrible feeling phone, even though it's quite cheap in terms of your ports and connectivity at the bottom. You have a type c input for charging bottom facing speaker at the top.
You have a top facing speaker as well as an IR blaster and the 3.5 mm jack has been placed at the top rather than the bottom. On the right side, you have the volume up and down, as well as the power button with the in screen fingerprint sensor on the left. You have the sim card ejector tray. Now, let's talk about the camera on the Redmi nine t. The camera on this is a quad camera setup with four different cameras.
The main shooter is a 48 megapixel camera. The second is an 8 megapixel ultra-wide. You also have a 2 megapixel macro lens, as well as a 2 megapixel depth set. Now, let's talk about the camera performance for the images and the videos, the image performance and the picture taking capabilities on this actually really surprised me, even though considering the price point and the low budget on this, the performance of the images, especially with the HDR, was quite nice and the way it focused in the background blur and both looked quite nice on this, and it's a pretty nice smartphone for Instagram photography. If you want to take pictures for it, however, when it comes to the video side, it isn't really the best.
The max resolution you can get is 1080p at 30fps, but the overall video performance isn't really the best it's lagging on stabilization. The colors and the HDR performance isn't quite nice unless you're shooting in a pro video mode. You get a lot more control there, but overall, the video performance, if you just pull it out of your pocket and start shooting, not really the best when compared to the image. One thing to keep in mind is that, if you're here in Malaysia, the version that you're going to get of the Redmi 90 does not support NFC. Now the final and the biggest feature on this, no pun intended, is the massive 6000 William hour battery.
Now we've reviewed a lot of smartphones on this channel, and this is by far the biggest battery we've ever got our hands on for a smartphone. I was pleasantly surprised, shooting images and videos all day yesterday doing the camera comparison. The gaming test, the benchmarking score test on this. All of that resulted in the battery still being at 33. At the end of the day, you also get a 22 watt fast charger in the box, but this supports up to 18 watts in fast charging, which is pretty standard for android devices.
Now, let's talk about the pros and cons on the Redmi 9t, the first pro that I can think of which is kind of a no-brainer is the price point. If you get the 4gb ram, 64gb storage, it's for 599 ringgits, which is quite cheap, but if you want to upgrade that and get the better ram version, better storage version, you can get the 6gb ram, 128gb storage for 699, which is still quite cheap. The second pro on this is gonna, be that massive six thousand William hour battery now, if you're someone like me who doesn't carry around the charger everywhere, you go, and you're out and about taking pictures all the time watching video content on this all the time, you're, definitely going to appreciate that 6 000 William hour battery. It can last you the entire day, maybe even more than a day if you use it with medium to high usage. So for me, it lasted about a day and a half without having to recharge it with intensive usage, so that was a very big plus the third pro on this is gonna, be the camera performance.
Like I said surprisingly, I was very happy with the camera performance. The HDR in specific, really made me like the camera on this. If you want to take quick snapshots or even semi-professional looking shots, if you edit them, you can take the raw files profiles. These are pretty, pretty good images that you can get out the both, the depth of field, quite nice as well. Now, let's talk about the cons on the Redmi 9t.
This may be the reasons why you wouldn't want to purchase it. I'd say the only con that I can think of is if you get the four gigs of ram 64 GB storage variant, which is exactly the one that we have here. You're going to feel some stutter you're going to feel some animation glitches, not really glitches, but more like a stutter when you're switching through, and that's what I really faced now when it comes to actual gaming tasks and stuff like that, you're going to be fine, it's not terrible. It's not laggy. Overall, the presence of the phone or multitasking on the phone.
You can feel a little of delay if you're in the market. For a phone that has a massive battery life and can take pretty decent pictures, then the Redmi 90 is definitely the phone for you, like I said, the image performance is quite good, and the battery life is a huge plus. So you wouldn't really go wrong with buying this phone for 599 or even going for the six gigs of ram for 6.99. So that's about it guys. That is our review of the Redmi 9t.
