What is going on everyone. Welcome back to another video in to you. I have a salty chamois me Pat, for this is the initial review, and we're going to have a series of videos coming up after this one, where I can test out things. You guys would like me to test out, and one of them will be a video where I'll be tweaking this tablet and turning it into a full English tablet without having to unlock the bootloader and flashing and new ROM, so everything stalk right of the box, easy tweak to do with almost no hassle and once again, if there's anything specific, you guys would like me to test out. Let me know in the comment section below now: the Shame me Pat four is the successor of the chamois me Pat, three, which came out about a year and a half ago. This thing is nothing short of phenomenal.
The display looked absolutely gorgeous and show you guys in just a bit here. The backfiring speakers centered a great the overall build quality was pretty awesome. It was a pretty solid tablet and overall nothing about it was short of refinement except the software out of the box, depending on where you get it. This thing had a four by three aspects: ratio similar to the iPad Mini, which is probably why this thing was actually discontinued really quickly because Apple had a lawsuit against chamois. Well, that said, this is four by three this time it is a sixteen by ten nine, sixteen by nine but 16 by 10.
It is a very nice form factor, it's very tiny. The build quality is pretty damn solid and overall, there's not many complaints here, other than the speakers being on the bottom, this time, which we'll get into in just a bit. What that said, this thing can get pretty filled up with fingerprints on both the front and the back side. If you don't have a case once again, it is made out of a uni aluminum body. So it's a pretty nice build quality.
It feels pretty great and if you're wondering no, it does not heat up even when playing pub G, which we'll be testing out in just a bit. It comes in two different colors and two different variants, so you got black and sorta pink break similar to the rose gold, and then you got the 32 or 3 gigabyte editions and a 64 gigabyte, 4 gigabyte editions for an additional $50 or so, so right. Here we have the 32 gigabyte three gigabytes of ram edition. Will they Snapdragon 660 and six times the million power battery and pretty much all the stuff you to expect from Android, including an SD card slot, which is awesome since the meet, a three did not have one? So that's already a big improvement on the top. Here we got an antenna band, so you see that it is plastic instead of the aluminum body right here that the camera right here, no flash, which looks pretty ok, it's nothing crazy and on the bottom we get the type C port as well as two by armed firing speakers and a microphone which is probably in combination with the other microphone on top here.
Well, speaking of the top, we have a headphone jack once again thank God on the right side. We get the power and volume buttons and on the left side of garrisons the SD card slot and lastly, on the front we got 16 by 10 1920 by 1200 aspect ratio 8-inch display so essentially is a 1080p display and overall everything here looks phenomenal. We got our front-facing camera running the middle over there and that's about it. So with that said, let's go and take a look at the software and show you guys inside and how awesome this thing is. So, first, you notice that the display here has actually curved all around the edges, and that is hardware wise, not software wise.
So the actual display is curved, which is awesome and overall this display can get plenty bright right now we're half brightness and this thing can go all the way up and all the way down, which is pretty nice. So anyways I have tweaked this tablet to make it into a fully English tablet, while removing 95% of the apps and features that are in Chinese that can get in the way and get this I was only able to do that, because Xiaomi actually included all these features and their Chinese ROM to be able to do so, and that is absolutely phenomenal. I was absolutely blown away by how many features and tweaks they allow you to do to really make this into an English tablet. If you would like without having to flash anything and unlock the bootloader and go through that hassle, while also being able to update your tablets through the official OTA updates. So at this point, you're, probably asking how smooth is this tablet? Well, I'm going to tell you right now: it's pretty damn smooth.
So far, I've had zero crashes, zero stutters everything was smooth as butter and the overall experience was pretty fantastic, so jumping into chrome. Here we can see that the whole thing is very responsive, especially when browsing any webpage. You can see you can zoom in know starters. Everything is pretty smooth and, yes, you can scroll very quickly and of course, you can increase the speed when scrolling even faster, but nothing to complain about here when it comes to browsing text is very crisp and the colors just pop at you. It's a great display, as you can probably see already now.
What you have just saw is a flick from the bottom. Now, you've probably seen that on an Apple device, and that is a feature of this tablet. It actually gives you a choice when you set up the tablet. If you want this feature the one on the gestures or, if you want to use the girl buttons from Android and if you go ahead and jump to the settings here for the first tab, you can see an overview of our hardware, so it tells you the CPU, the RAM and the battery capacity and, as you guys can see, we are currently running the latest me UI. Ten point, zero point, one point: zero firmware and so far out of the box, I've only had one update, it's the one that says, fix bugs and improve system stability.
So yes, OTA, updates, still work and that's nice, because if you flash your own ROM you're, most likely going to lose that ability so swiping from the left you can see you can go back now movie going down to display. We can see a couple of really awesome features, one of them being reading mode, which does have some adjustability. So you can adjust the intensity and schedule a time when this turns on. For example, when you want to read a book right before bed, this will definitely help, and we're below it. We've got another feature that a lot of samples should have, and that would be being able to actually adjust the white balance of the display and make it look the way you want so right here we have a couple of presets.
We have default warm and cool and of course you can adjust this to whatever you want using this color wheel right here, well, yeah once again a great feature that a lot of tablets should have moving on. Furthermore, we got a double tap to wake option, go ahead and jump to the wallpaper section. It's actually pretty nice. Thanks to the UI software, so you can choose something from your gallery, or you can actually download and set regular ole life wallpaper from the me I website. So everything is baked into this thing.
So go ahead and cook here we have some pre-installed wallpapers that look great high resolution, colorful ones, and if you go ahead down here, you can see that there wallpapers, you can download straight from the website. Little things like this out of the box. Add to the overall experience moving on to the security settings. We have an option to unlock with our face which I have not tested yet, but we'll be testing it in the final video and know this tablet does not have a fingerprint scanner. In my opinion, it'll be nice.
But personally it's not that big, an issue at least for me around below it. We got the full screen display setting, and this is where you can adjust what kind of style of interaction you would like. Would you like an apple or would you like an Android? So once again, this is the buttonless option, so you don't have anything obstructing your screen. No bar on the bottom and no buttons whatsoever, everything is done with gestures from the edges of the display. But of course, if you don't like that, you can always go back to the abundance tile and there you go.
You have a big fat bar on the bottom that works just as well right below where we have a Chinese AI we're trying to go ahead and skip that and a gaming mode which will disable a bunch of apps in the background, while you're playing games right here we got the UI lab you'll find settings that have not made their way to the official list, so you can test that out and be a beta, tester initial settings. We got a couple of things right here. You can take a look at it, including headphones and audio effects. This is we can enhance your Sham mi earbuds. If you have any, you can plug them in.
You can select one of the preset EQ profiles, and it'll. Give that a try at some point, and I'll give you guys my review on it, but you also do have, of course, an equalizer with a bunch of presets, and you can stay just the way you want and, lastly, there's a whole section in this menu that gives you control over the settings and permissions of every single app in this tablet, which is a big focus on security and what not, and it's pretty nice, because it gives you direct access to what you need other than that we are currently running. Android version 8.1 point zero with this version of me, UI 10, now that we were done with the boring stuff, let's go in and talk about the media side of things: let's go ahead and jump into YouTube and try to play a 4k video. Some of you may know this already, but YouTube has had this issue for a long time when it sees a device that has only int an EP display. It will simply not allow you to do anything above 1080p video, so no 1440p or 4k you'll be stuck with 1080p 60fps now I do think.
I have a fix for that, and I'll talk about it in the tweaking video. But with that said, this is a 4k video on YouTube and, as you can see, 1080p 60 is the highest quality we can do. It doesn't look bad at all. The quality and colors still look great, but of course having a 4k option would be nice and with that said, let's go ahead and take a look at these split screen mode. So you select the app you want.
Click that I think you proceed to open up another app and be able to do multitasking just like so you could be browsing, dank memes on the right side and watching a video on the left side and both apps will be running independently and now, let's go and listen to the side, firing speakers we have two of them, and they sound pretty great and can get pretty loud. Here we go so there you go, as you guys have heard. The speakers sound, pretty great they're pretty loud, and the quality is definitely there on the meet pad three. They were on the back and was actually pretty hard to actually block the speakers, but at the same time there were backfiring speakers. So, even though the quality was great, it just didn't sound right when I was facing the back this time, it's on the side, and it's much easier to block, as guys have seen putting on the side, not only blocks the audio, but at the same time it would distort the speaker's, especially if you have it on max volume, because there's just so much pressure from the speaker's.
You start bouncing off themselves and cause some distortions. You just got to be careful and not block the speaker's. If you do want to use the speakers for a movie or something, but overall you won't be disappointed with this pair of speakers now. With this tablet, they can expect full desktop speeds, at least in my case. My maximum internal speed in this house is around 178 down and 16 up, and this is exactly what I'm getting on this tablet and that's pretty great.
Only 5 gigahertz AC Wi-Fi network, and these are the Wi-Fi speeds. You can expect a couple rooms away from the main router, also on the 5, gigahertz Network, and here's our score for the an tutu benchmark, 143 thousand points, 66 thousand for the CPU and thirty thousand for the GPU all right. So here we are in pub G and no I'm, not logged in will log in another video we're curly in guest mode. Both that said here are the settings that we are currently running, we're pretty much running the highest settings that we can on this tablet. It maxes out at HD and high with anti-aliasing enabled, and if you are wondering yes, I, have played a full game of pub G on those tablets.
What the settings maxed out, and I had absolutely no issues. No starters, no hiccups whatsoever in terms of performance and half an hour later, temperature-wise I didn't even feel like the game was running. The overall performance was pretty smooth, and it was also pretty responsive, so I had no issues whatsoever in terms of playing. If anything, I'd probably want to remap my game controls to get a much better optimized experience now as much as I would like to finish this game. We're going to go ahead and exit the game because we have to go ahead and move on, but do not worry.
You're going to have a full dedicated video about pub G running on this tablet. If you guys want to see one of those videos again, yeah here's another game, downloaded it's its pretty cool, but we're not here to run really weak games. Let's go ahead and run asphalt, 9 the newest game in the series. So by default the visual quality was set to default. So let's go ahead and try high quality and see how it goes so, as you can see a much better improvement in terms of visual quality, but it seems like the game doesn't want to render at full resolution.
For whatever reason, maybe the aspect ratio is tipping it off, but who knows either way the game is very smooth, and it looks pretty nice, and that said guys, that is actually pretty much it for this video once again, Shame delivered another fantastic product, and this thing is fantastic once again, not a lot to complain about the banner life has been pretty great. Actually, if I have to guess, you probably expect around six to eight hours of battery life, depending on how you use it and are at two to two-and-a-half hours of charging time using the included adapter. Do I recommend this thing? I would say absolutely yes, and I'll give it my commando stamp of approval. This is by far my favorite tablets and I would totally recommend getting it, especially now it has the SD card slot again, if you guys are interested in this thing, I will leave a link for it in the description below, and hopefully I'll have some coupons for you guys and if you guys don't already know, there's DW 11 sale going on currently in China and are gear best it's kind of like Cyber, Monday or Black Friday, but in China.
