Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro Real World Camera Test (and Final Thoughts)

Hey, it's Joshua verger, what's going on everybody, oh boy, back again to the Huntington gardens, but this is kind of a special day, not only because I'm using the Xiaomi me 10 t pro so keep an eye on the corner. So you know when I'm using this phone for the photos and videos you're seeing in this piece, but also it's like the first day in a long time when it's under 80 degrees, Fahrenheit, thank god finally, time to just cool off literally and have some fun in an expanded portion of the Chinese gardens here at the Huntington. That's right! I am still here to bring you my real world camera test on this right here. The Xiaomi mi 10 t pro it's always a good time when Xiaomi brings out another flagship device, but this is going to be the t variant now, because I already did a more traditional review for this phone over at pocket. Now, I'm going to go ahead and just focus mostly on the real world camera test. As my final video for this phone, if you want to hear all about all of my different thoughts about the details about this device, including the specifications and the daily experience, you can see my pocket now review in links that are appearing above and are available below.

That said, I will front load this video with a couple of my perspectives from that review, mainly the fact that Xiaomi has figured out what parts of their me 10 pro to carry over what parts to enhance, and thus they were able to create a new flagship that is actually a lot cheaper than their original me 10 pro release the specifications are so super high end. You get the snapdragon 865 on here, and then it's all about the screen. As the other marquee feature, this is a 144 hertz IPS display all right so, like I said in the review, the IPS display and lcd, rather might not be the one thing that you want to hear from a flagship device. But honestly it's a wonderful LCD. It has perfect colors.

It might not have the deepest blacks that you expect from. Let's say an OLED or an AMOLED display, but overall that's been a very enjoyable experience. My only qualm with the 144hz refresh rate is that it's not something that you can really use or see as often as we would like, but that's not necessarily Xiaomi's fault. One thing that you do sacrifice from the mi 10 pro is wireless charging. You only get 33 watt wire charging on here and, what's funny, is that in my original review for pocket now I actually got the spec sheets for the t variant and the original me 10 pro mixed up.

So I actually said the charging stats for the mi 10 pro for the TV model. So if you did watch my review- and you heard that I apologize for that mishap, but overall things like the new camera sensor and the 144hz refresh rate screen might not seem like the greatest updates to a phone that was already super high-end. But then again, the majority of the spec sheet remains the same, and when you think about it, the price is what makes the t variant very enticing, because it is almost like 40 percent less than the original me 10. Pro. Of course, you're going to sacrifice a couple of things like I just mentioned, including a telephoto lens, but maybe, if you have been looking for Xiaomi, to go back to the more affordable price ranges, especially relative to the original pro well.

Here you go. So why don't we go ahead and get into the Huntington gardens? I'm just going to go through a bunch of photos and give a few perspectives actually using the 10t pro 2 film, those quick a-roll shots to give you perspectives on the different modes and the different use cases for this particular camera, all right, making sure to get a little of that wide angle. Action going in here, but the other reason why I have to do this is that the front facing camera does not allow for 4k video recording. I know I harp on it on a lot of cameras on a lot of especially premium phones, but honestly it just would be really nice. At least you can get the wide angle on here, because it's one of the secondary lenses and uh, the think it's 13 or 18 megapixel 13 megapixel ultra-wide allows you to do something like this still pretty nice, so probably you're, going to end up using the main sensor that 108 megapixel sensor for most of your applications on here.

The thing is because you're using that main sensor once you stay at that one times, and then you want to go- maybe zoom in or whatnot you're digitally cropping in which actually allows for the video mode to have a different type of zoom slider, which I kind of appreciate it's the kind where you hit that slider, and it will slowly zoom in a lot like a camcorder rather than just jumping to any of the two times or two times, plus uh values for zoo kind of nice. Do um I'm just going to throw this up on the side, but you do have a macro lens on here at 5 megapixels, which is a market improvement compared to a lot of other phones that have like two megapixel macro lens. But it's really nice, because um it'll provide better results and in this phone you can actually do macro video. So, as you can see over on the side, I guess this is what a b sees when it comes up to these flowers, to pollinate okay, cool macro video. Take for what you will all right.

So there's a lot of stuff that you can do to get stylized photos and videos in here, but I do have to shout out one thing: that's not necessarily new on the mi 10t pro it's the movie frame. I actually really like this because it just bakes in to your videos and photos, those black bars at the top and bottom so that you get a more cinematic look. This is such a simple thing, but you know what I have a lot of fun actually shooting with it, because it just makes things seem a little more stylistic dramatic. Whatever word you want to use, I don't know I've always liked it, since it was first introduced, I think, a few generations ago. Here's something you can do use that movie frame on the wide angle lens on the rear and then point it at you.

This is the way it should be been better if we get some 4k on the front wide angle on the front. Those are all things that I feel like especially creators, but I think everyone would really appreciate from time to time I mean the Chinese gardens you've seen a lot in my content on this channel, because I come to the Huntington gardens a lot. The thing is, I just realized with the Xiaomi mi 10t pro new release from Xiaomi any other year. I would actually be in China getting these same types of photos and videos during their launch event. Gotta miss traveling here is today's main attraction, we're here at the expanded version or the expanded area of the Chinese gardens.

This whole area that I'm walking on right now has been closed. Ever since I became a member of the h, so here we go taking a look at a brand-new area and that's why I brought this one with you checking out another mode called front and back pretty nice we're just showing off. What's in front of you, maybe giving a little of commentary and this new area speaking of commentary, this new area, this new, expanded Chinese garden, is pretty nice very, serene, fairly quiet. Obviously beautiful and lush. Also, a lot of bonsai trees like you can see right there and those are always really nice to see.

Oh, you know what this right here take a look at that that's a nice opportunity for a photo. Let me go. Do that real, quick! My experience basically came down to this. It shows me that Xiaomi knows exactly what bits and pieces to put into the camera toolkit. As far as hardware is concerned, you might not be getting the super far zooms or anything like that, but by having a megapixel sensor, they can do digital zooms without too much loss in quality.

On top of all of that, they still provided an ultra-wide lens, which I think is one of those necessities these days in flagship phones and then a 5 megapixel macro sensor that actually provided some pretty good results. So in sacrificing far-reaching zoom Xiaomi have gone ahead and thrown in all the different video and photo modes that they have been developing in their software. In the last couple of generations of flagships and honestly, it's been to pretty good effect. You can have a lot of fun with these cameras and ultimately, if you just want to get good photos and videos, then you can just go to the auto photo and video modes, maybe even hit the 108 megapixel hi-res mode or even the 8k resolution mode. If you want to go a little above and beyond, but if you're just looking to get some really fun clips like the front and back clips or the vlog clips or if you, even if you want to get a little crazy with the clone modes, they're all available here.

Here's to hoping, though, that in future generations of these Xiaomi cameras, they will develop that very software to be able to work on things like the front-facing camera or even provide 4k video results, because, while those modes are ultimately fun, they can also be really useful for creators, and I think that's the next step that needs to happen. And so there you have it. My real world camera test using the Xiaomi mi 10t pro, along with a few of my full review perspectives, sprinkled throughout it's a wonderful value for a lot of the essential tool kit sets that you might want to have in your everyday device. You get a big battery, a wonderful screen, even if it is an LCD panel and a camera package that brings plenty to the table. So you don't feel like you're really missing out on too much.

Let me know what you think of everything you saw from the Xiaomi mi 10 pro get into the comment. Sections down below have those discussions, and let me know if you might be picking up one of these phones, or maybe you'll, be sticking to your original Xiaomi mi 10 pro. Let me know if you did, and yes this is a better value than that, but there are a few features that the mi 10 pro still has above its new t-variant sibling at the very least drop some likes on this video and subscribe to my channel. If you haven't already with all that said, I'm going to go ahead and call it on this one. Thank you so much for watching take care of yourselves and each other and enjoy your tea.

Everybody.
