THICC REVIEW | 1 Month With The Samsung Galaxy Watch 3

Hey guys, what's up nick here once again, it's my full video review on the Samsung Galaxy watch three. So, let's get right into it! This review is gonna, be separated into five categories. We're gonna start with the overall design. Then we're going to go looking at the specifications' performance of the device. How well it runs everything like that. Then we're looking at the special features.

What makes this device unique compared to other smartwatches on the market and if it's worth an upgrade from the original galaxy watch, the battery life, how long it lasts? Does it hold up for entire day and the overall verdict? Should you purchase this device, and, or should you upgrade from the original galaxy watch so with that I'll have all the time stamps in the description below so go check them out? If you do want to skip to the review, so you don't have to listen to me blabber and whatnot for the entire video now the first category we're going to look at is the overall design. First off this watch is gorgeous, honestly. I think it's one of the best looking smartwatches on the market. I love the circular design, never been a fan of the square design, especially coming from the Apple Watch, never liked it yeah. It may look a little more futuristic, and you can definitely tell it's a smartwatch, but I like, when people are surprised to see that this is a smartwatch on my wrist.

I think it's an actual role xor some type of really nice vintage watch. I turn the screen on mess around with it, and they're blown away, and I love that about this design. It does come in black or stainless steel silver for the 45 millimeter version, which I have here. There is a couple other color options for the smaller 42 millimeter versions, but I'm reviewing only the 45. It does have a huge 1.4 inch. Super AMOLED display, so colors are very rich.

Blacks are super dark, so you don't have to worry about any washed out colors or any washed out displays. I really enjoy this. I think it looks perfect outdoors as well. That's one of my biggest complaints with many smartwatches on the market is as soon as you step outside and get a little of glare. You can barely see what's on the screen, but with this watch I have no problem whatsoever and especially not even at full brightness.

Usually I'm hovering around in mid mid-range for the brightness, or I just have it on auto brightness, but for the most part I never have to do full brightness, which is really nice and especially for battery life. The display has a resolution of 360 by 360 pixels at 364 PPI, so definitely pretty good for a small display such as this, because, if you're talking, PPI or pixels per inch se on a display, this size 364 is very, very decent. Another thing I really like about this is an tiny bezel around the display itself, so we don't have to worry about those really eyesore black bezels on the old versions of these watches. Even on the original galaxy watch, I felt like the bezel was way too large for its size, but with this one I feel they hit the nail right on the head. I feel like the bezel is perfect in its size.

You barely can see it, and it really stretches all the images that you see on the display. So you can read text a lot easier and really everything is accentuated because of the smaller bezel. You really get the full real estate of that 1.4 inch display. It does have a nice titanium frame from my black edition. I believe it's a stainless steel frame if you go with the silver, but I do like the look overall, it's very durable, and it's meant to be military grade, which is pretty cool, so if it does take a fall or tumble or if it hit your wrist somewhere, it shouldn't have any issues, at least for a while on top of the titanium frame, which you would think is very heavy.

It's actually pretty lightweight at only 54 grams. Once it's on my wrist, I had no issues whatsoever in terms of discomfort or overall, too heavy, it's a perfect weight, and I think it feels nice and hefty on the wrist without being too heavy, and that's what I'm really looking for in a premium watch coming back to that rotating bezel again, I think this is one of the best features of these watches. No other smartwatch on the market. Has this. It's super tactile.

It's its also a mechanical button or switch. So essentially it's not using any software or fake vibrations to create a bezel effect. Like the last sport edition of the galaxy watch came out, and I did not like that whatsoever. So I'm glad they came back to the actual physical rotating bezel. There's just nothing like it.

You literally have to feel it for yourself in person to know what I'm saying, but just trust me. It is one of the best features of the watch. It's just fun even just to scroll through things randomly when you're bored, because it feels that good and not only that it's extremely fluid, and it keeps fingerprints off of the display, because another big thing I don't like about smartwatches is, if you have to use your finger, to touch everything it's annoying when now you're. Looking at your time later, and you got a ton of smudges on the display, it just looks awful tacky, you name it so having that rotating bezel really helps on the cut down of fingerprints, and you don't have to touch your display nearly as often the side buttons on the galaxy watch.3 are okay, I don't think they look bad per se or that they're ugly, but I do prefer the flat design of the galaxy watch original buttons, even though they looked a little more rugged or a little less elegant per se. I do prefer the originals just because they didn't stick out as much, and they were easier to touch, and they just looked better in my opinion, other than that, though they are very tactile.

They work for what they are, and again they don't look too bad, and they definitely blend into the side of the watch. You also can easily swap out wristbands, just like you could before with just the little switch on the bottom, which is a nice addition to the watch itself. I do like the customizable wristbands on here. I do have an off-brand wristband, which came in the mail from Amazon I'll, have a link in the description below. If you want to check it out yourself.

I really like this. What watchband it's super comfortable. It looks really nice with the black titanium build and even though it's pretty cheap, you can tell it's cheaply made it's not a super luxurious wristwatch, but if you do want to get a wristband that is much better quality. There's definitely other options out there, and I love that Samsung gives you that opportunity to switch it up, because personally, not a huge fan of the leather wristband that came in the box. Yes, it gets the job done.

It feels comfortable, but not a huge fan of the white stitching, and I feel like over time. It's going to crack and wear down really fast, so definitely recommend looking at other options in terms of wristbands, so let's get into the specifications and overall performance. This thing is running the ti zen based wearable OS version 5.5 out of the box very fluid. It works great. The CPU is a dual-core 1.15 gigahertz cortex a53 chip. I don't know what any of that means, and probably a lot of you don't.

But let's just say it's a lot faster than the original galaxy watch model, with a GPU of a Mali 2 720. Now the big thing here. This is the big thing we have one gigabyte of ram this time around with eight gigabytes of internal storage. So last year's model, I believe, was the four gigabyte internal storage and only had 512 megabytes of ram. So this is an extra half gig of ram on a small device like this, a half gig of ram makes a huge difference in terms of performance.

So what I mean by that is just there's no lag whatsoever, and we'll get to that in a second. We also have a built-in loudspeaker like before, so you can take phone calls on the watch. You don't have to worry about having your phone with you if you do have the LTE version of this watch, which I do not. This is the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi only if you do have the LTE version with a sim card in it. You can fully use this watch without a device with you without a phone which is really, really nice, and again the loudspeaker is built in, so you can take phone calls right from the watch and hear notifications loud and clear.

We also have the Wi-Fi 802.11, BG and n, as well as Bluetooth, 5.0 this time around, which we'll get to in a minute and GPS and NFC are both included out-of-the-box in terms of performance again, with that extra gig ram extremely fluid performance. Out of the box, I mean this is above and beyond better than the OG galaxy watch. I have a couple clips here. I'll show you the difference in performance versus the OG galaxy watch and even to the naked eye. You may look at this and be like it's not that big of a difference, but in everyday performance like neck and neck by themselves.

You can definitely tell the difference, and this thing has been fluid since day, one entire month of use downloading apps testing with notifications, using it day in and day out, literally on my wrist 24 7. This thing has run its course and been fluid every day without any hiccups. It's even had a couple updates since the day I got it, and it's still running great, so yeah performance is definitely a step-up from the original galaxy watch. On top of that, they do have some added new animations, which are really nice when switching between widgets I really enjoy, because on the old one it felt like it kind of just glitched to the next widget. It didn't really feel like it was a fluid animation, so good on Samsung for updating those.

Finally, with the ti zen software, it is very easy to navigate just using the rotating bezel can switch between your widgets, which are fully customizable. You can put anyone that you want in here as well as any order, and then, if you hit the bottom button, you can go right into your list of apps, so you can go through everything. That's on your watch and again, with the galaxy store, you can download hundreds um, even thousands, of different apps on your watch as long as you have enough space on your watch for them. One thing to notice: a lot of your viewers don't like to talk about is the Bluetooth connectivity in the past, especially with the original OG galaxy watch. I can't tell you how many times that watch disconnected from my phone via Bluetooth.

I honestly never use it on Wi-Fi just because I like to have my phone with me at all times anyway, and it weighs less battery. If you don't, if you have the Wi-Fi turned off on your watch now. That being said, Bluetooth connectivity has always been hit or miss for me like if I have it in my pocket, sometimes I'll just catch my watch random times or if I left it in my car and walk to the mailbox. It would disconnect instantly not the case with the galaxy watch 3, which I'm very pleased to say, with the 5.0 Bluetooth, excellent connection. I can walk up to 30 meters, away with no issues whatsoever even going between rooms.

If you have walls in the way it seems to not disconnect at any point in time. I live on a one level house, so I don't have stairs or anything but going from my room to the kitchen, which is three bedrooms down no disconnection whatsoever, and I find that to be really, really awesome, so good on you Samsung for finally upgrading your Bluetooth connectivity, my current device, I'm using with this watch is a Galaxy Note, 10 plus, so keep that in mind. It is a Samsung to a Samsung, so your performance may vary if you're using a different device, especially an iPhone, but it will work regardless with other devices, not just Samsung. The loudspeaker, like I stated before, is very loud. It's its actually perfect quality too.

I was very surprised at the quality of the loudspeaker on this thing. So definitely, definitely good feature there, and you don't have to worry about not being able to hear the other person. If you make phone calls with it, they can hear you very crisp and clear, and they don't have an echo or anything like that and the loudspeaker again. You can hear them just fine, even if you're in noisy environment, so good on you for the speaker, quality being pretty dang good. My only real gripe with this design is, I feel, like the vibrate motor could have been a lot stronger.

That being said, it is very quiet. I've had I've, definitely tested out, watches in the past, with a vibrated motor. You could 100 hear it if it ever buzzes on your wrist and that can be kind of annoying if you're like in a high skilled meeting or if you're, in an area that, like a library, and you can't make a lot of noise. Yes, that can be annoying with this watch. It's pretty quiet, I mean you can still hear to vibrate every so slightly, but it's very quiet.

That being said, though, I wish it was a little stronger because there have been many times when I don't have the loudspeaker on, because I like to have you know. Muted notifications, and I've missed a couple notifications with the Viber motor on which tells me that it could have been a little stronger because maybe I was moving or walking or whatever and while you're doing those activities, the vibrant motor isn't really able to be felt so, hopefully in the next iteration fire motor be a little stronger. But again I don't want them to make it louder, because again, that could be kind of annoying. So with the performance out of the way. Let's go look at the special features of the device, and these are the things that make it unique, which give a reason to go out and purchase this watch over anyone on the market or, if you're, coming from the original galaxy watch, and maybe you want to look for an upgrade to be honest with you.

Not a lot has changed from the original one other than the performance. That really is the big key feature. The other big key feature is the Samsung health, apps or integrated blood pressure monitor. So this new blood pressure monitor, I think, is a really cool addition and definitely needed when it comes to any type of monitoring systems on a smartwatch. If it comes to your personal health, I honestly cannot say how accurate is because I don't have a blood pressure monitor at my house, but I can say that it is very consistent in its measurements.

Every time I've tested it, it seems to be roughly around the 99 range, which means I'm at a healthy individual for my blood pressure. Thankfully, now again, I would take this with a grain of salt. I don't think I would ever replace your actual blood pressure monitor with this watch, but it is really cool. They're, leaning more towards these actual health-related monitors that we need in our everyday life, because a lot of people disregard blood pressure, and they don't look into it, and they can, without even knowing have really high blood pressure, which can be a huge health risk. You know, on top of that we do have the built-in heart rate monitor like we've had for the past few years.

I will say that the heart reminder is a lot more accurate than last year's model, so that is amazing. I'm really glad that they worked on that, because, if you guys haven't seen my full review of the original galaxy watch, I did state very heavily that the heart rate monitor is taken with a grain of salt, because every other time I tested it, I would get like one time.72 beats per minute and the second time I tested it was b68. Next on my test, it would be roughly 98. It was a huge difference in fluctuation of my measurements, and I found that to be very odd and kind of striking. So it's good to see that the measurements now are very consistent, no issues whatsoever and they always roughly range around what I'm doing so.

Obviously, if I'm outside mowing the lawn or doing a vigorous activity, my heart rate goes up. If I'm just sitting in my room, working on a video or something my heart, rate's, usually pretty lower. So with that being said, heart rate monitor and step counter work. Great. Another nice feature which was included in the original galaxy watch is: it is ip68 water resistance up to 50 meters.

So if you wanted to, you can turn the water lock mode on, and you can go for a swim without any issues as long as you're staying above 50 meters. Now, that's pretty deep. So I just want to go scuba diving with this thing, but if you're swimming laps in a pool shouldn't have any issues and when you're done you have you exit out of the water lock, and it'll spray water out of the speaker, so no water damage would happen. Internally, works really great haven't had any issues with water, and I like that it is water resistant. So don't worry if you're out in the rain or whatever your watch will be just fine.

Samsung pay is back and better than ever, I haven't had any issues whatsoever when trying to make payments with my card with the watch, the only downside is once again MST or magnetic secure transmission is not included on the watch. Really. A big bummer I wish Samsung would bring back that to their watch line because that's a huge feature on all Samsung devices that have a step-up over any other device in the market. Even Apple Pay does not have the MST. It only has NFC which this watch does.

It has NFC. So if you are at a pay terminal that requires NFC or can use NFC it'll work no problem, but if you're at a terminal like an older one that doesn't have that it will not work, and you'll have to take out your Samsung device in order to pay via Samsung pay so again in the future, really hope that they add some type of MST to it. But for right now, NFC only another. Nice feature is that they updated a lot of the apps that are pre-installed on the device, including the messenger app. So overall, it looks just a lot cleaner on the watch, so you can read text conversations on text threads without any issues.

They also updated it to where messages or pictures. Sorry will appear right in the messenger app without any issues where, in the past, it used to show like a little text thing you had to click on it, and it would bring up the picture, but it was all on its own, and you couldn't read the text above or below the image you had to go into it, and it was a lot of extra steps, so good on you, Samsung for updating your messenger app makes it a lot easier to go through and mess around with and to reply to people easily with the watch without having to take out your phone. Sorry for the poor audio on this, I wanted to cut into the review real quick, just let you know. I found one extra problem going on right now with the galaxy watch in terms of showing the picture messages in the messenger app. What I mean by that is normally when you send a picture uh through the messenger app you send a picture like this goes to someone's phone, and this is for my girlfriend's phone and if it comes to my phone and through my watch, it should show up with the image in the messenger app, and I can look at it on here now in the past.

Normally, when you got an image, you would say to open it up on your phone and now literally every single time. I get a message now it goes right, or it gives me the same message saying go to my phone, which doesn't make any sense, so I'll go into the conversation right here, and I'll show you what I'm talking about like. I send a picture to myself, and it says this message contains media view, the content on your phone, no matter what I do. It will not post or show the picture on here, and I'm using the actual Samsung messenger app, not like WhatsApp or anything, and I'm sending it straight from the app through text messaging to show up on my watch, and it doesn't show up. So I don't know if that's an issue with ti zen, if it's a glitch right now in the software, but keep that in mind that for some reason one of the major features right now to be able to show images on your watch is not working through text messaging.

So keep that in mind again, the Samsung health apps are all here and on display it's one of the biggest features they're trying to get across with this galaxy watch three. They all work great, have no issues whatsoever. I like that they have a lot of information for you to keep track of your diet. Your daily exercises steps all that good stuff. Again, the blood pressure monitor and the heart rate monitor.

You can monitor pretty much everything about your day, which is really great to see. One other great new feature is the sleep tracking options, so they did have this new version where you can track your sleep with the watch on now. It does work pretty great, but I haven't personally been able to use it because of the battery life, and we'll get to this later. But for me personally, the battery life does not last long enough for me to be able to use my watch throughout the day and then keep it on throughout the night. While it tracks my sleep, I do have to charge it every single day, but we'll get more into the battery life at the end of the review.

The new Spotify support is really an awesome addition, because the original galaxy watch did not work with Spotify, which is a huge bummer, because that's what I use for all my music, but now they added the addition of Spotify as an own app on the watch. However, it is completely broken right now, which is a huge bummer for me to say, I love the idea that the Spotify was going to come to the watch, so I could finally skip tracks change. My volume, you name it all from the watch now, especially if you aren't using your phone, if you're just using with LTE, you could use Spotify on the watch, which is awesome. However, again the app is completely broken. I can't really show you because I had to uninstall it.

It was so bad. Basically, it just would glitch out my entire phone. If I started to play a song on my watch, it was supposed to transfer to my phone and then play through my earbuds, but it would just freeze completely, and my phone would get bricked, and I had to restart my phone. I went and looked at the reviews for the app and everyone's saying the exact same thing, so Samsung or Spotify, whoever it is. Please fix your app because I want this to work.

It's an awesome idea and I want to use Spotify on my watch. So yes, please just fix that please. The last thing is the pre-installed watch faces that come with the galaxy watch.3 are all excellent, honestly, they're, so much better than the original galaxy watch. I can't get over this enough. My favorite one is the analog dashboard because it pretty much shows everything you ever need right on the get-go, the weather, your battery life and your health, as well as the time both digitally and analog.

I think it looks really luxurious, and I think it looks very nice so overall, this is the best one in my opinion, but again there's a ton of them out of the box ready to go, and I think these are the best options out of the box that we've gotten with a galaxy watch so good on you Samsung for finally iterating brand-new watch faces. If you don't like any of these. For some reason, you can also go through the galaxy watch, store and purchase, or just download free ones right out of the get go, there's thousands to choose from so definitely cool and moving on we'll look at the battery life for the galaxy watch three now the battery life honestly is pretty good. It's not amazing, and could be better, but it's pretty good. What I mean by that this does have an ion 340 William hour battery, which is pretty dang good.

Pretty a lot bigger than the last year's version, but the biggest problem with me is, I always have the always on display. With my watches, I like it just because I feel if you're looking at a watch face, it should have the time on it at all times. Most of the watch faces that come pre-installed with the galaxy watch as well as any ones you can download on the store, do have a feature where once the screen dims, or you put your palm over the watch, and it goes away, it does have a sort of always on display version. So what I mean by that it won't use its full brightness anymore. A lot of the features will disappear on the watch.

It just shows the time or maybe just the analog version of the time, which is pretty cool, and it does save a lot of battery life. But that being said, if you do have the always on display, like I do you're roughly going to get 17 to 20 hours of use before you hit below 10 and have to put it on the charger now hearing those numbers 20 hours, that doesn't sound very bad. However, with the smartwatch, you definitely don't want to have to be forced to charge it every single night. For me personally, it doesn't matter it's not a big deal. I charge it every night regardless, but when I've been trying to test it out, I've been trying to push it to its limits and use it every day, like a normal person, and I got a max of 20 hours before I had to charge it now, I would have loved to have seen at least 30 hours, with one charge with the screen, always on or always on display, essentially on, because of the new feature of the sleep monitor.

Because again, I want to be able to test it out to its full ability, and it's a major feature that you can now monitor your sleep with the watch, which is a cool feature. But if you can't use it because the battery dies in the middle of night, if there's no point in it right and if you're like me, you're, probably not going to be taking your watch off and charging it multiple times throughout the day, because that's just annoying. However, some people probably do this, and it's not a big deal, but I don't want to be forced to have to do that. Yes, there is a way around. This, obviously don't have the always on display on.

If you do turn it off, it is rated at having two days of battery, which is danged good. That's pretty that's pretty good! Now, if you aren't like me, and you don't mind having the screen always on yeah, the battery life is great. It's its perfect, but if you do want to have the always on display like I do you're kind of out of luck, and you are forced to only have a day's worth of battery at least sadly per charge, and you will have to charge it every single night. The last thing, I will say is the charger it came with. I was very surprised at how lackluster it is compared to the OG galaxy watch.

Now the galaxy watch, the original one had this nice little stand that you can. Actually it propped up the watch when it charged, so you could have it as a nice little clock next to your nightstand, you could wake up in the morning, look over and see what time it was all that good stuff where this one just is a little magnet that sits on the desk, and you lay it on top of it, and it starts charging. The watch does have wireless charging just like the old one, so you can charge it via any wireless charger or via the power share option of any galaxy device, which is pretty awesome, definitely comes in a pinch, if you forget your charger for some reason, and you have wireless charger with you, or you have your galaxy device with you, and you want to charge it real quick. That is definitely an option which is nice and built in, but it would have been nice to have that charger with the stand built in as well out of the box. Just like the original one, huge bummer there and now for the overall verdict, should you purchase this watch, or should you upgrade from the original galaxy watch? So if you are coming from the OG galaxy watch, the upgrade in my personal opinion, isn't truly worth the 400 price tag.

Now, right now for the new launch of the galaxy watch, 3 Samsung is having their trade-in program, which is pretty good. I did use it myself. I traded in my original Samsung Galaxy watch for the galaxy watch 3, and I saved about 100 bucks with it pretty good deal, so it does drop it down to 300. So in that regard I will say it is worth it, but if you don't have the option of a trade-in, I don't think it's truly worth the upgrade of paying that price because of how little has actually changed from the other model. The main reason for that is: yes, it is faster, fluid animations, the bezel's a lot smaller.

Overall, it's a better experience. There isn't a lot of extra added to it to really justify upgrading for the price. However, if you are brand new to the galaxy line, you don't have a galaxy watch right now, and you're looking at becoming a new owner of a galaxy watch. This is the one to go with. Yes, 400 is a pretty steep price to pay even more if you want to go with the LTE version, but I will say this is the absolute best smartwatch on the market hands down fluid nice, easy to learn, interface, amazingly beautiful design with the great feeling rotating bezel, as well as the very good battery life, beautiful display and waterproof design.

I think this is by far one of the best smartwatches on the market. In my opinion, it even beats out the Apple Watch, because I just can't get over how ugly the design is on them. I'm sorry! If you're an Apple Watch lover I just yeah- I don't like it at all. I love the design of these guys because they look like an actual watch, so that is my full video review of the galaxy watch 3 by Samsung. If you, if, for some reason, I missed anything- and you have a specific question about the watch, please leave a comment in the comment section below, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

If you'd like to see my unboxing and quick overview of the watch, I have a link in the description below. Please leave a like to show your support. As always, it does truly help with the new videos as well as subscribe. So you don't miss the next one, and we'll hopefully see you guys in the next one peace out.
