Samsung S20 FE 5G (Snapdragon 865) vs iPhone 12 Camera Comparison: I am Impressed

Hi everyone, so today I'm going to compare my iPhone 12 camera with s20 Fe 5g, which is recently launched in India with snapdragon version. I know they're not similarly priced, but a lot of people asked me about their comparison and I think it makes sense because in many countries iPhone 12 mini is kind of similarly priced to s20, Fe 5g and if you look at it, Samsung and iPhone are two biggest brands in India. These are one of the best phones you can buy just because of the snapdragon processor. So I think the comparison will not be that unfair, and you know me: I'm not going to waste your time, let's start with the comparison. So this is the front camera sample. I'm recording in 4k 30 frames per second I'm outside in my balcony, so you can see the HDR and there will be some sound.

My ac is running so, as you can see, the sound is coming from both of the phones. They both are capable of 4k 60 frames per second, but my rendering will be on 4k 30 frames per second, so that you can see, and I'm walking it. So you can see the stabilization as well. I think they both are doing a great job. So this is the video quality in the normal light condition I'm inside it's night.

So as you can see, I'm going into a darker area, so you can see like how these two perform. I think in video, Samsung and knight is not doing very good. Uh Samsung has a lot of noise where iPhone is a bit dark but yeah. This is the quality. As you can see.

I have just this one light up there, and I think iPhone is handling the light. A little better Samsung. The screen is actually very bright, but I think there's a lot of noise. If I talk about video from the rear camera in daylight, there's a very slight difference in colors, but nothing dramatic. Yes, the iPhone has a little more details in the tree and the footpath, but they work great.

But in normal light I think Samsung has less saturated, which is a good thing, but there's less detail and there's a lot of focus hunting which basically continues in the low light as well. I'm not saying iPhone is exceptional, but it's a little better than Samsung. The noise is control and focus hunting is less than compared to Samsung s20, but Samsung has a bit more detail because of less noise reduction. Let's talk about images now before we go further, I want to say one thing: it's typical Samsung versus apple is mostly warm and something is mostly cool, and the greens are not natural in Samsung, like usual, which is exactly the case with the s21 plus and iPhone 12 camera comparison. So keep that in mind, but the HDR will be a hit or miss in both of the phones like in this picture.

iPhone is doing better like it's controlling the sun better, and it's not overexposed, but in the next picture. Samsung is doing a better job, as you can see, behind the bench. iPhone is crushing the blacks, where Samsung has better exposed shot in ultra-wide. At first glance, you look, they look kind of similar, but iPhone has more details and less distortion and corner. So I would say an ultra-wide iPhone is a little better.

If I talk about this shot inside the mall, it's really hard to pick a winner, honestly, they're very close, so I'll give it a tie here in ultra-wide. I would still give an edge to iPhone, because the HDR is very well-balanced there, and also the shift in the color from main sensor is almost negligible. Samsung has boosted the colors a little in the next shot. Samsung is handling the HDR better on upper side, but on the floor in the middle iPhone is doing a little better job. Like I said in main sensor, it's difficult to pick a winner.

Sometimes Samsung does a better job Samsung iPhone in ultrawide. Again, the left on the iPhone is better exposed and the details on the elevator are better. So in ultrawide it's mostly iPhone, which is just a little better than Samsung. In this next shot. I was just trying to test the extreme HDR condition where Samsung has done a great job in maintaining both roof and the scene behind the elevator.

Even the elevator stairs are better highlight on Samsung s20 few hen it comes to HDR from the front camera. I think iPhone will always prioritize the subject and Samsung takes care of the background. It's not an easy shot, but that's why I took it in this next shot. If you're looking at the light behind its very well exposed on Samsung, I think by now you have a good idea that HDR can be good on any of them. For the front camera HDR is a mixed bag.

iPhone is good with subject, but not good with background sometime, it looks good. Sometimes it does not. Also, the greens are a little better on Samsung here when it comes to front portrait uh, I think no one is doing good, but iPhone is doing awful and the edge detection is like way off on iPhone. So now we are inside the house, and the light is coming from outside and iPhone is doing an amazing job as compared to Samsung. Color exposure and details are everything on point, but in this next shot uh the exposure is much better on s90 Fe, the sky on the iPhone looks weird, and wall is overexposed.

If I talk about 3x, zoom Samsung has dedicated optical lens, and you can see it's doing a better job than iPhone digital zoom. As you can see in the next shot, I am using the Samsung 3x optical zoom and the digital zoom on iPhone, and you can see the details on Samsung is much better, as you can see on the Xbox, the dot and the text on the books. So I think for zoom, uh Samsung wins here. It's been a really close, go in the daytime with rear camera for front. I would say it's mostly better on iPhone when it comes to skin tones and details.

I know for many people they usually turn the skin details to red, but in this case Samsung is doing that, and it's also softening my skin. But the beauty mode is completely off same with the case of portrait. When the mask is off, iPhone is performing much better. The rear, portraits are good on both of them. Samsung is playing with my skin color, though edge detection is also kind of similar, even though Samsung has telephoto lens, but does not use it for portraits in low light without night board iPhone is doing better, but when you turn on the night mode, I think exposure wise that both are doing a great job, but the white balance is off on Samsung, but sometimes that cooler tones work in the favor of Samsung like in this photo.

The white color looks a little better. Overall night mode is better on iPhone in terms of color details and contrast, front camera without not mode is better on iPhone. But when you turn on the night mode, I think both are doing a great job. Uh Samsung has managed my skin color a little better and here is Kiki, not ready to say bye, but the trails are definitely better on iPhone. So that's it guys.

This was my comparison between s20, Fe and iPhone. I think they bot did a great job. Yes, s20 Fe sometimes have more saturated colors and the front camera is a little weaker than iPhone 12, but I think if I had any of those phone, I won't be regretting it. So do let me know your thoughts uh. If you like this video, please hit the thumbs up button and if you want to subscribe and watch my content, please do subscribe.
