Samsung Galaxy S20 Vs Samsung Galaxy S10! (Comparison) (Review)

Welcome back to the channel, everyone today is another special day. We get to talk about really two successors to one another, not two successors, but one successor and the older predecessor and every time I'd make one of these videos I, always love, seeing the progression and the changes that we've seen that we're seeing from one generation to the other, and there were some massive changes between the galaxies and there were some massive changes between these two phones and honestly, even going from the predecessor. There were some massive changes between that predecessor and the predecessor of this film as well, and I'm so confusing, but we're going to be comparing the galaxy s, 10 against the galaxy s, 20 and kind of not a quick comparison, but as a brief comparison as I can, I have both phones. You know, but this has been only like I have both phones, but this is kind of like a bird's eye view. Comparison of everything I will be doing separate, speed tests and separate camera tests and all those things. So this will just kind of hit on everything.

I'll do update or reviews of the s20, and everything like that. So I'll try my best to be as accurate here, but again, if anything, changes or anything obviously I'll make updated videos, and all of that, so this is kind of like your one-stop shop, of all the information you can for the s10 and s20. So the s10 came out last year, as you guys know, and that was a pretty big change coming from a s9. There were a lot of cool little changes and going to that hole-punch display was a pretty big deal with the s20 I think was a very good iteration. It brought a lot of cool little things, but I still think yes, tunnel was a bigger upgrade going from the s9, but the s20 has so many cool little things and honestly, the s 22, the s10 is still a very, very large upgrade.

There's a lot of things are getting from the S 10 to the s.20 then, honestly, would probably justify you know going from a s10 to as I need to be honest now. The first thing I want to hit on is the price point. So last year the Galaxy S ten came out that phone costed, $8.99 I believe when it was retailed. The Samsung Galaxy has 20 right now is selling for $1000, so it definitely went up about a hundred bucks, just kind of stuff I, don't know why they did that they should have just kept it the same price tag but whatever, and I'll have to buy it anyway. However, it doesn't cost the $8.99 that it used to. What we saw last year was something crazy.

The s10 saw some massive depreciation, which was very weird. I, wasn't expecting you to depreciate that much, but it did and there's nothing we can do about it. So someone like me who bought it like it's kind of dumb because like when I resell it, which I wasn't going to put the people who wanted to resell it, they would lose a lot of money in the resale point, so they wouldn't be able to recuperate a lot of that money. But it's good for someone who wants to buy them because they can buy a for a cheaper price. So if you're, a buyer, the Samsung Galaxy has ten right now is selling for about $400 on Amazon, which is a very cheap price and for a phone that's as capable as the s10.

That's really nothing I mean that's cheaper than a brand new s10 II so, and it's cheaper than a brand new iPhone 10 R and the S 10 has so much capability with it where's the S 20 on Amazon right now. It's slang for a thousand dollars and I honestly think that you might as well safe money and save six hundred bucks and get an S 10 over an S 20. But again, I'll talk a little more about that later. But if you want to pick up either of these phones for the prices that I just said, I'll leave links down on Amazon in the description you can get the form there and help support the channel. At the same time, looking on the front of both screens so Katy, the Samsung Galaxy S 10 has the 6.1 inch dynamic. AMOLED display it is a 1440p display and that phone will have a perfect panel.

I mean it was really nothing wrong with it. I couldn't say anything bad about it at all. There was just a little of bezel at the top and bottom and that hole-punch display, but other than that it was pretty much screen, and it looks really. Nice I really did like the way that phone felt in the hand it felt extremely premium and the display I mean it was very good. The only thing was that you know it did have a little of screen sensitivity so like even before I would touch it.

It would sense that I would touch it or, if I held it in my hand, it would just go crazy and tapping things, and the s20, unfortunately, is the same exact way, and it's funny, because when I went through the settings on both phones recently I actually saw that there's a setting for increasing the touch, sensitivity, and I'm like. Why would you want to increase that? That's already so high? Why don't you want to decrease it and I thought I? Read it wrong, but nope it's increased touch, sensitivity which I don't know why they would do that, but it is what it is and there's nothing we can do about it, whereas the Samsung Galaxy S 20, has a 6.2 inch, dynamic, AMOLED display the hone is 1440p display as well and honestly they both look almost the same I think in a way that's 10 looked a little better, which I don't know why? Maybe it's just a wallpaper I have but as 20 displays, the extremely, extremely good like honestly, they're, very, very good panels and I think going from a s10 10 that has 20 in terms of display itself you're, probably not going to see a massive change. However, the biggest difference that you will see will definitely be that 120 Hertz refresh rate on that display the fact that the Samsung Galaxy s 20 can do 120. Hertz is amazing, and if you remember last year, with a one plus seven Pro that came out, that was able to do 90 Hertz, and that was a huge deal at the time. And now we can do 120, which is crazy and the fact that we can do that is awesome, and I love saying that unfortunately, the Samsung Galaxy as 10 does not have any capability like that.

But it's still not that big of a deal I think it's still pretty much capable for the most part. So the Samsung Galaxy has 20 in terms of the display. Definitely wins their USB type-c on the bottom of both phones, but the Samsung Galaxy has 10 does have the headphone jack, which might be a big deal to you so kind of play by ear. If that's a big deal and obviously keep it and get it as 10. If you like that phone jack, but I think for a majority of people, I think they're, ok, with kind of moving forward and kind of letting that go.

But it is what it is I'm not here to kind of counsel you on that on the back goal, aspects on both triple camera, setups on both, but obviously they're a little different setup and I kind of like the s10 setup. More, that's 20s. To be honest, but I. Don't think the s20 looks ugly, like I think it's alright, but I think yes, 10, look overall, better I, don't know why they went that way. They just kind of wanted to fit in with Apple, but whatever it's not a big deal now, both phones have reverse wireless charging, which is really cool, and both phones have micros card slot support.

So you can go put in a micros card slot in there and be said for a majority of people and I think a ton of people are going to like that. That's honestly one of my favorite things ever so in terms of that that pretty much covers it all. So both phones have IP certification, I forgot to mention IP, 68 dust and water resistance on both phones. You can go up to one and a half meters of water for 30 minutes. So, in terms of that, you know, there's really not too much craziness going on with both these phones they're, both very similar, but the key features I think for the s20 would definitely be that newer screen technology that 120 Hertz refresh rate, and probably the lack of headphone jack, but that triple camera setup and the hole punch display moving to the middle.

So those are pretty much the massive changes to be honest in terms of the outside. In terms of the software, this one's pretty easy both on one uy2 and I, think both handle it pretty well, there's been a lot of cool little changes with the 1uy 2, and it's been a very great ride. I'm surprised that one of my two eyes been as good as it was because I was hitting on in the beginning, with I still think. Samsung has a long way to go, but realistically the Samsung Galaxy S 20 it's going to be lasting at least one year more than the Samsung Galaxy s 10, which isn't and all be all I, really don't think it's that big of a deal. But it's kind of a sad thing, because really, if you think about it, the s10, it's less soft, more supportive, those last software, it's getting is going to be last year, which is going to be really sad, and I might right, but I feel like this phone just came out and it kind of did, but it's going to be ending it software next year.

The same thing does something about it so terms of software. That really pretty much covers it. Like I, said the Samsung Galaxy S 20 realistically is going to outlast the Samsung Galaxy s 10 by at least one year unless of Samsung extends this software lifecycle which they might, I don't know, but in terms of software that really pretty much covers it. Up now hitting on the performance, I did a little of a speed test, so you can kind of see what I'm talking about when I'm kind of going through this comparison, but the Samsung Galaxy S 10, was released with a podcast app drag apt, five chipsets, an outscore CPU and Arena 640 GPU, and there were two different models: the 128 and 512 CAG models with eight gigabytes of RAM, the Samsung Galaxy S 20 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon, a 65 chipset, an outscore CPU and Arena 650 GPU, and only one model, the 128 gig mono, with 12 Kenya bytes of ram. Now I, don't know why Samsung took out that five to hold model, that's kind of dumb, like that's thinking like a step backwards, which makes no sense to me, but it is what it is.

We can't do anything about it now. I can tell you about the performances. Is that, as you can see, and as I've done through at the speed test, hopefully I'm playing it now, I saw that the s20 was not only faster than yes 10 by a majority, but you know it wasn't like I was beating it every single time by a lot it was just a little, but it was much smoother in terms of scrolling speeds and animations, and everything, and honestly I was surprised. I was immediately thinking. Okay, the S 10, the s, 20 isn't a much better phone overall, but then I kind of remembered my speed test when I did for the s 10 last year and I saw that the S 10 was smooth.

It was fast, it was everything, and it was a very good performing phone. But after the software updates and all the time that I've had with it for some reason it just chugged down, and it just slowed down overall and that's kind of sad, because even though the s 20 is the faster one. Now it probably will end up being the slower one over time, and it will just get slowed down and slow down where iOS isn't really like that, and it's kind of like a weird thing, because you get a phone in it so fast. But then it slows down over time, and it's kind of dumb, because the SN was so good and it was so fast. But when I compared it to my S 20, it was so slow.

So definitely these phones slow down over time for sure. For some reason, I don't know what it is: I'm, not gonna start of conspiracy, another one, but I think there's something really going on here. That I will have to investigate, but as it is right now, the s 20 is the faster phone between both of them. But you know the S 10 is really kind of like right behind it, but the s tens animations are also really weird. Take it how you will, but that pretty much covers it up in the performance section, but I will say I'm going to be doing a separate speech test very soon.

It's going to cover everything or and management all that stuff, so keep it locked down on the channel. So you don't miss that, but that really pretty much covers at the performance now hitting on the cameras again. I'll do a separate camera test as well. So this is just going to be a very brief one. The Samsung Galaxy S 10 had three cameras on the back to 12 megapixels and a 16 megapixel ultralight sensor.

Also, the 12 make this hotel for lens, but only three camera lenses, the Samsung Galaxy S 20 has a 12, megapixel, wide-angle lens and sixty-four megapixel telephoto lens and then a 12 megapixel, ultralight sensor and on the front 10 megapixel sensors on both, but we are able to shoot 4k 60 on the Samsung Galaxy s 20, or we can only do 4k at 30 on the S 10 and both phones have the capability of doing much cool things. I mean you can do everything you want to do with the phone and but probably the s20 is the better phone. Overall. You know in terms of the camera, the quality seems to be about to seem to be honest, I don't think one is. You know over cutting the other, but again once I do my camera comparison you'll see.

However, one of the cooler things is: is that on the s20 you can't shoot 8k videos on it and, for some reason, I keep saying 4k, but it's 8k videos on it, which is an amazing feature that you don't have on the s10, and you honestly don't have on really any other phone as of right now, which is an amazing cool. Little thing, maybe we'll get 8k on our iPhones this year, but we have that capability on our Samsung Galaxy s 20 or what we don't have it on RS 10. Is it really keep or a lot of people? Probably going to use it? No, probably not I, don't think anybody's going to use it, but it's a cool novelty feature and definitely your future proofing yourself by a crazy amount that might become the standard. Who knows you know, 4k is probably not even the standard right now. I shoot all my videos in 1080p.

Still and I think for sure the Samsung Galaxy S 20 will probably have the better camera. But again, I'll do my separate camera comparison between them, so you guys can get a better idea now ending off with the battery life. The Samsung Galaxy S 10 had a thirty-four hundred million power battery the Samsung Galaxy s.20 has a four thousand nine-hour battery and like I've seen it before. You know, like both phones, have a tremendous battery life on both of them. However, recently the S 10s, better life, has been pretty weird I, don't know what it is maybe have like some weird software bug that I'll have to get into, but if you kept both phones on stock, and you didn't mess with anything, the Samsung Galaxy S Tony will have the better battery life.

However, what I will say is that if you turn on a 120 Hertz refresh rate on that display the Samsung Galaxy s 20 s, battery life will definitely go down over. So that's a tremendous thing to keep in mind: it's not like once you get it like it's going to be, you know lasting forever. That's not necessarily the case, and if you turn in that 120 Hertz refresh rate, that's definitely going to decrease the battery life faster and kill your phone before the s10 dies on its stock. Whatever another thing to keep in mind is that you also have reverse wireless charging on both phones as well, which is really nice and honestly, to kind of sum up the video and to answer the question: should you pick up the Samsung Galaxy S 20 coming from a s10, or should you keep a s10 or whatever the case is, and honestly I really think you should probably get a Galaxy S 10 do that phone still has a lot of killer features for it and for the price that you're paying for it for 400 bucks or even less than that? It's not such a killer phone with a killer price tag and there's really no reason not to pick it up. However, what I will tell you, though, if you have all the money in the world get a Galaxy S 20, it's going to last you much longer.

It's definitely the better phone for sure, and you know just going to last you for a very long time, and you have all those cool little features at the s20 has the s10 doesn't have, but if the s20 was a 10 out of 10 it well, if it was a perfect phone which it's not, let's say if it was the Samsung Galaxy s, 10 will probably be like a 9 out of 10 or at least like an 8.5 out of 10 like there's no way it's, you know any lower than that. It can pretty much do everything the s20. Can it's just like a couple features here and there that probably a lot of people are going to use? Maybe they won't, but you have the capability on the s20, where you don't have it on the s10, so I still think the SN is a killer film with a lot of capability behind it. So if you want to pick up either these phones, like I, stated that links will be down in the description you can get the form Amazon and help support the channel at the same time.
