Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G Review - My Phone Of 2020

Hi guys, welcome back to the channel. This is the S20 FE review and I'm going to cut straight to the chase, and if you are considering purchasing the S20 FE, especially for christmas, then just go and buy it. You will not be wasting one bit of money. I have had the pleasure of using this for a whole week and it is a really, really good smartphone. A huge thanks to Vodafone as well for sending me this out as a review unit. Check out the links in the description below guys, you might be able to get a good deal for christmas.

And that's it, my review is done. Thank you very much for watching! I'll see you soon. So some of you may have clicked this video because of the title. The best battery life in a smartphone I've ever used. Now some people are thinking, screen on-time.

But I'm thinking about the whole experience. I've used budget devices in the past like huge rugged monster phones with like 10,000 or 12,000 mAh batteries. And yeah, they've got me, say, 10 hours screen on-time or even more. The FE got me over 8 hours screen on-time sometimes. Yes, that's less than what I've had before, but the overall experience.

It's got the latest 865 Snapdragon chipset. Six gigs of RAM, a super Amoled 1080p display with 120hz refresh rate. It's the whole package, and it got me through a whole day without any trouble at all. Even with about 20% battery left.4,500 milliamp battery. It is really, really good.

It's the best smartphone I've used this year. It's the best Samsung phone I've ever used. It's better than the Note 20 that we reviewed a couple of months back as well. You know, and that's a sort of a flagship device for Samsung. A couple of years ago, this FE would have been a flagship device.

You know, I mean looking at it now, there's not much in terms of specs that isn't 'flagship' about it. Apart from maybe, you know, the plastic back on the back. On the back? But what makes this not a flagship device in terms of specifications? Yes, it's lacking the 8 gigs of RAM which a lot of phones do have. I mean there's the Oneplus 8T which comes pretty similar to this. And if you're weighing up your options, that's probably the options you're gonna be thinking about.

The 20 FE, or the Oneplus 8T? Very similar in specs, and probably not much difference between them. If you're a Samsung fan and got the whole Samsung ecosystem then this is definitely for you. Obviously if you are purchasing it, just make sure you get the 5G version because that comes with the Snapdragon 865. It's a 100 Dollars or a 100 Pounds, dearer than the the normal 4G version but you do get that Snapdragon. I think that is the the big difference.

It's got a great camera setup on the 20 FE as well. It takes some beautiful ultra wide angled shots. All pictures are all vibrant, and you know, brilliant for social media posts. But it's just the front-facing camera where I think it underperforms slightly compared to my Pixel 5. Pixel 5 picture quality is just sort of, more contrasty, it's more natural.

Whereas the 20 FE, it's obviously quite, blown up quite a lot. A lot of vibrance, saturation and stuff like that. So it's not real to the eye but pictures and videos do look very nice. Yeah there's something that the front-facing camera does. The processing, when you compare the two pictures, I'm not exactly sure what it does.

Yeah, I just prefer the look of the Pixel 5's front-facing camera. But when you compare video statistics, the 20 FE can shoot up to 4K on the front-facing camera. So it's got huge specs for not a flagship device. It can shoot up to 8K. I don't really see the point in 8K at the moment.

Not many people can view 8K, but 8K is there if you want to record on it. There's 4K, 60.1080p, 60 Slow motion. Stabilization is great on there as well. The whole package is really good. The Zhiyun Smooth X currently testing with the Pixel 5.

We have it in pan follow mode so when you twist around, it will smoothly follow your movements. In pan mode, we can double click and put it into landscape mode. And again, smoothly follow. I really like this red color. Design wise, body is absolutely beautiful.

The aluminium frame, and the plastic back doesn't feel doesn't feel plastic. Although it sounds plastic when you when you flick it like that. But it is really nice to hold. Comfortable. I just think that, I think Samsung have just nailed it.

Absolutely nailed it. If you don't get the S20, get the S20 FE. Don't get the Note 20, or the Note 20 Ultra. Get the S20 FE. Make sure it's the Snapdragon edition as well, especially in the UK.

Yeah. Save your money. Performance wise, you can play Call of Duty on this on the maximum settings. Very high frame rate, high graphics. Absolutely maxed out, and I'm playing, no problem at all.

You have dual speakers. You have one firing down at the bottom, and you have one on the top as well. And equally kicking out the same amount of power in terms of audio, and frequencies as well. That's another great thing I like about the phone as well. It has an in-screen fingerprint sensor, and it has Face unlock.

Face unlock is absolutely rapid. When you do get into darker rooms and conditions, sometimes it doesn't unlock. But you do have the fingerprint sensor there to help you out. I'm not a big fan of fingerprint sensors on the screen, or under the screen, whatever you want to call it. I do prefer the reliable fingerprint sensor at the back.

If there's one thing I could change, then that's what I would change about the S20 FE. But when you're using both the face unlock and the fingerprint sensor, you're unlocking it pretty much immediately whichever fails anyway. If your fingerprint fails, it'll probably unlock fast with your face. If it doesn't do your face, bang, you do with your thumb. With the Pixel 5 though, you've only got the fingerprint sensor but, it's on the back and it's the most reliable fingerprint sensor I've ever used.

It does unlock straight away. See that? SIM card, and SIM card on the other side as well. This offers dual sim and you can also squeeze an SD card in there as well, obviously without dual SIM. You have to take the other SIM card out. But you can have dual SIMs and I've had Vodafone and EE, in there at the same time.

And, both performing equally as well. Obviously you can you can choose if you use mobile data on that SIM, or you can choose one SIM for phone calls and one SIM for text. You can really mix it up. Yeah, so thank you very much for watching guys. Please Subscribe to my channel if you've enjoyed this content, and see further smartphone reviews in the future.

Buy it, there'll be links in the description below, to take a further look. It is a fantastic smartphone. Unfortunately I haven't had the pleasure to obviously test the Poco X3, which is supposed to be a really good affordable smartphone with great specs. So I can only review and tell you, honestly, about the phones I have used. And this is superb.

And if I was to change anything on here I'd put a fingerprint sensor on the back, and improve the front facing camera for pictures. That's it. Thank you very much for watching. Please give this video a thumbs up. Subscribe, and I'll see you soon.

Bye bye.
