Samsung Galaxy A52 Review - Solid Midranger

Hey what is happening? This is lions, you're, watching decline, and in this video I wanted to talk about the Samsung Galaxy a52. So this is the review of the cheaper galaxy a52 4g edition prices of this phone start at about 350 euros in the EU. So with this phone Samsung aims to give you as much as possible for your money, you're, getting a quad camera system, a large super AMOLED display a relatively large battery and even ip67 certification for water and thus resistance. Let's take a further look. The galaxy a52 is made mostly out of plastic, but the overall build quality is good. The phone doesn't look very premium, but it doesn't look cheap either.

I love this light. Blue color finish that looks fresh and expressive. There are other color options available, including violet, white and black. I also like this matte finish of the backplate, which camouflages fingerprints and smudge as well. If I was a designer at Samsung, I would also use a matte coating on the frame, but the phone looks nice nonetheless, and some people might even prefer the glossy finish.

Just for your reference here is how the a52 looks like next to the me11 light. Xiaomi's phone feels a bit more premium thanks to its glass back, it's thinner and lighter, but its backplate is a smudge vest. Poco x3 pro is bigger and heavier due to a larger screen and bigger battery. Lastly, a52 vs realm 8 pro realm's offering also comes in this nice color finish and is also made mostly out of plastic, but just as the a52, the build quality is good. If you are interested in dedicated reviews of these phones, you will find all the links down below one of the standout features.

The phone is ip67 certified for water and dust resistance, and it was well tested, especially while filming this video, the 6.5 inch super AMOLED display is covered with gorilla glass 5. It is nice and sharp, and it has a decent contrast and the blacks. It's also 90 hertz, which is a sweet spot between smoothness and battery consumption. On the other hand, there are some cheaper phones that already have 120hz refresh rate, for instance, Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 pro the screen can reach brightness up to 800 nits, meaning that you won't have any issues seeing it even on sunny days. Overall, I wouldn't say it's the best screen in the surprise segment, but is still one of the best.

The under the screen, fingerprint reader is not the fastest out there, but it gets the job done, unlocking the phone. There is also a pretty fast face, unlock feature on the top. We have a cutout for a beefy 32 megapixels selfie shooter on the back Samsung implemented a quad camera system with a 64 megapixels main camera with optical image. Stabilization 12, megapixels, ultra-wide 5, megapixels macro and 5 megapixels depth lens I'll talk about image quality in just a bit. Samsung didn't forget, headphone jack fans this time, and you also get an option to expand storage on the cheap thanks to a hybrid dual sim and a micro SD card slot.

On the other hand, I would prefer seeing a dedicated SD card slot, so I can use my two sims. At the same time, I found the dual speaker system to be very good. Overall, it can get quite loud, and the sound quality is good. Here's a quick audio test, the 4g version of the galaxy a52 is powered by snapdragon, 720 g, CPU, storage and ram options depend on the market. For instance, I have fully specked out 8 gigabytes of ram and 256 gigabytes storage model.

The gaming performance is very similar to other mid-range devices. For instance, games like asphalt, extreme or Call of Duty run without any issues. More graphically. Intensive titles like PUBG, also run fine on HD, graphics and high refresh rate, but expect to see a few skipped frames. Overall.

This phone was not designed for hardcore gamers, but you can definitely enjoy occasional gaming. When it comes to software, we have android 11 with Samsung's one UI 3.1 skin built on top of it. If you are familiar with Samsung's user interface, you'll feel right at home. There are quite a few settings and tweaks to play with, and you're able to customize the phone in a variety of ways. I did see a bit of stutter in the UI, but the overall performance has been good.

The device feels fast and smooth most of the time, even if you run quite a few apps in the background daylight image. Quality is very good, as images have a good amount of detail and sharpness, and the color reproduction is accurate in general. These are one of the best looking shots in the mid-range category, but there are a few caveats. For instance, corner sharpness in the wide-angle shots could be better, but that is the case with pretty much all the phone's cameras. I would also say that color consistency in photos across the ultra-wide and main cameras needs some work.

A 64, megapixels mode gives you a lot of resolution to play with, especially if you plan on cropping the image, but I will stick to a standard auto mode for general use two times. Zoom images look just average, as this is a digital zoom. After all, the macro camera does not have autofocus, meaning that some shots will look nice, while others will be out of focus if you have shaky hands, use a tripod for the best results. Portrait mode usually takes nice, looking photos with good edge detection and object separation. Skin tone reproduction is also pretty accurate, which is not always the case in the mid-range segment low light camera performance is pretty good, even though some shots could have more detail and sharpness.

Still, these are pretty nice looking night photos. If you can find a bit of street lighting, you can take nice looking low light selfies in both auto and portrait modes. When it comes to video, you have a lot of versatility. You can record 4k 30 fps video using the main and the wide angle camera and even switch to two times digital zoom. While you are recording the video that means that you don't need to select the particular lens before you hit the record button.

The quality of footage is good, yet not perfect. Handheld video shot with a wide angle lens is very shaky. The main camera produces much smoother video, yet it's not the most stable I've seen even in the mid-range segment optical image. Stabilization does a good job, reducing the shakiness, but some phones, for example, Xiaomi mi 11 lite, produces much smoother video with just electronic image. Stabilization see my Xiaomi mi 11 lite review for more details.

Obviously the stabilization improves when you switch to 1080p mode, but that is at the expense of detail and sharpness of 4k for the best results. Just use a tripod and a fluid head with this setup.4K 30fps video looks nice and detailed. If you want to record stable and smooth handheld videos with a selfie camera, 1080p 30fps is the best resolution and frame rate setting for more handheld and tripod video samples check out decline extras YouTube channel you'll find all the links and show notes in the video description down below. Just before I finish talking about video quality here is a quick audio test. This is 4k 30fps video test using the front-facing camera of Samsung Galaxy a52, 4k, 30, fps, video lighting conditions are good, and I'm using the tripod.

The battery life on this phone has been solid thanks to a 4500 William hours. Unit screen on time is a very subjective method of testing, but you should expect to get somewhere between 8 and 10 hours of screen. On time, when I ran a YouTube video playback test at about 50 of screen brightness, which was more than enough for indoor use, I could get over 12 hours of sot. You also get a charger in the retail box, which is nice, but it is rated at 15 watts, even though the phone can be charged with a faster 25 watts charger for comparison, the supplied brick can fully charge the phone in two hours, whereas the 25 watts charger fills up the tank in one and a half hours. If half an hour is important to you, you need to buy this faster charger separately.

Lastly, a few test notes: the phone has NFC a phone call, quality and signal reception to be good. The earpiece produces good sound for clear voice calls and GPS is accurate. Now, a quick word from the channel sponsor wonder share flora go is an easy to use yet feature packed. Video editor for phones, and you can download it from the Google Play Store. Flora go gives you all the essential tools like trimming splitting making transitions, and so on.

The app also has quite a few preloaded effects filters: stickers templates, you can add the music you want and so on, check out the link in the video description and start editing. Videos on mobile, with ease with flora go, so we've come to the conclusions, part, and let me summarize pros and cons of the Samsung Galaxy a52 for you, so you can decide if this phone is right for you, or you should buy another device. First, the pros both pro and con, the phone looks nice. It is well-built, but it uses mostly plastic in the construction. Well, that might be good or bad depending on your personal preference.

But if you want a glass back, there are other options to consider. For example, Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 pro or Xiaomi mi 11 lite, that I just reviewed one major feature of the Samsung Galaxy a52, ip67, certification for water and dust resistance. Most mid-range phones lack this feature, meaning that if you constantly drop your phone into water, or you simply love washing it to remove all the dirt from it, the galaxy a52 is a good option for you another pro. The super AMOLED display is nice and sharp, and it can be easily viewed outdoors. Also, a quad camera system is versatile, and it is capable of producing nice images and nice videos.

Moreover, the phone offers good overall performance, despite not having the best chipset out there. Now, let's talk about the shortcomings, a 90hz refresh rate of the display is great, and I think it is a sweet spot between motion smoothness and battery consumption. However, we have quite a few phones with 120hz refresh rate screens in this price segment. For instance, we have a Xiaomi Redmi Note, 10 pro Poco f3 or Poco x3 pro a minor flaw of this device. The phone uses a hybrid dual sim and a micro SD card slot.

Instead of two sim cards, any dedicated SD card slot, the cameras of this device are great, but video stabilization is not the best in class. Finally, the phone supports 25 watts fast charging, but it ships with just 15 watts charger. Despite these shortcomings, I still think that the galaxy a52 is a solid offering from Samsung. It is not perfect, but so are other mid-range level devices if you have about 350 euros to spare and if you're looking for a good overall device made by a well-respected manufacturer, the galaxy a52 should definitely be on your list, but the mid-range market is very crowded right now, if you haven't seen it yet check out my videos of other great mid-range level devices like Xiaomi, Redmi, note, 10, pro polo, x3 pro or even Realme 9 pro also. Let me know in the comment section down below which device would you buy in the mid-range phone segment?
