Samsung Galaxy A51 The Budget S10 or S20? How do they compare?

Nurture Christ, Jacob speaking here, so today we're going to be reviewing the phone I got back a few months ago, and I wanted to do a comparison for you guys and I honestly think as far as budget phones go right now in the Samsung Galaxy department and just overall quality phones, I'm pretty impressed with what I got, and I'm going to show you how it's basically comparable, sometimes better, sometimes not as good to the Samsung Galaxy s10 and the phone I have is the Samsung Galaxy a51. So over here I've set up a kind of a wider range going from all the way from the Samsung Galaxy f81 all the way up to the Samsung Galaxy s20. Of course, I could add more variations because I know there's the galaxy s 20 plus, but I just kind of wanted to do what maybe people in the same price range. I was looking at when I got this a few months back, um kind of good comparative and like to kind of help, make a decision. So let's walk through some of these statistics. Okay, so the storage capacity across all four phones is the same 128 gigabytes.

It's perfect. I have in fact I can look at right. Now. I have an insane amount of apps. Furthermore, I use a lot of apps um.

Furthermore, I can go to my library even tell you how many I have installed on my phone right now. Okay, I have 204 apps, so um, that's a lot of apps. I think, and some big ones like Amazon shopping um, which is 425 megabytes Pok?mon, go all sorts of big apps. I use um so, and I mean I think I'm let me see what my storage is at yeah. Furthermore, I've only used 40, so um.

Furthermore, I remember 32, gigabytes and 64 gigabytes on a phone was kind of like oh I'm, getting close to filling it up, but there are 128 gigabytes plus I mean you've got room for a micro SD. So I really don't find anyone unless they do a lot of recording personalized uh, maybe vlogging and stuff with their phone um. I couldn't imagine them really filling this up. So there are 128 gigabytes across the board on these four phones is a wonderful amount of space. Now the camera which is there's this is where this kind of gets interesting, um the and I- and I can't remember it- will tell us down below.

But if you look right here on the a51, it has a 48 megapixel, camera 112 and two fives. The Samsung Galaxy has two twelves and the 16, which is also matches its s plus um version. Well, just the plus version, and then the sensor galaxy has two 12s and a 64 megapixel, and I'll get back into that a little uh batteries. Now this is kind of interesting um. The 851 has a better battery um than the Samsung Galaxy s10.

However, the s plus, and I can kind of confirm the s plus personally um. I, as I said I own the a51. I have a personal, close friend who owns the s plus, and I have another personal friend who owns the galaxy s.20. Um, the galaxy s20 um no lie, I think he says he charges it. Maybe once or twice a week me personally, I charge my phone every day, just because of out of habit, but it is my phone will last about a good day without needing charge like I can go to bed and the next morning.

We'll still have life, it's just you know I'll need it throughout the day. So I'm also going to charge it when I'm sleeping the s10 um is basically the same, not as good as the s20, but my friend says he can go about two days without really needing to charge it um and they both recently actually got their phones, so that's kind of like the beginning lifespan. Everyone knows that over time, the batteries kind of decay um the display um. So this is also interesting. If you like, bigger screens, the display is actually the biggest the galaxy a51 6.5 comparative to the s10 6.1 and the 6.4 for the plus and the 6.2 for the galaxy s20. Now, obviously, there's s20 plus, and I'm not, I don't know of top of my hand what the uh display for that is, but kind of not important right.

Now this comparison, um and then ram. This is where the 851 kind of loses out. However, I haven't really: I play a lot of games on my phone. I haven't really seen so much of a disadvantage to the six gigabyte compared to the eight gigabytes um. Obviously, I've gotten to play around with the other two a little and yeah they're extremely fast, but um.

You know it's kind of. Is it worth the price to you, and we'll get into that later, as well, so front cameras, 32 megapixels for the 851 10 for the s 10 and then a two front, cameras for the s10 plus and then one 10 megapixel front camera for that galaxy s20. So this is kind of like a winner again for the a51, and then I don't know why it's going over the battery specs again, but we don't want to mess with that, and then I don't really personally know offhand um. I know a little about computers as far as processors go and stuff um, but as far as cell phone processors um, I probably don't know much at all. So I did pull up the processor from Samsung Galaxy, so this is the Enos, I think yeah, Reno or z.

I don't know how to pronounce it. Who cares that 9611, which is the a51s? So all it's got two quad-core and GPU is Mali, g72, mp3 and I also don't really know much about the as far as cell phone GPUs go, but anyone out there who knows a good bit. You know leave in the comment section. If one of these processors is significantly better than the others, then you have the both the s 10s plus and the regular have the same one, which is the 9 98 20. It's got two deals and then one quad I could see where the advantage of having the two deals over just having two quads might come in.

But at the same time I couldn't tell you if that's an actual advantage, I sometimes know in computers, especially PC wise, that can make a difference but, like I said, I'm not I'm not very familiar with cell phone CPUs and then the s20 uses the 990, and it has two deals and one quad. So I'm assuming because the s20 is basically the new flagship phone that I'm kind of over the two quads comparative to two deals and then one quad, so I'll leave this on the screen for a little. So you guys can take a look at this. It's got some other information as well, but we're going to go back over here. So, okay, now yeah, okay, so here's the rear camera, and we have 48 megapixels.

So that's where the 48 comes in a 12 and then two fives um. Then we have the s10, which is two twelves since 16, and then that stays the same going over to the s10 plus, then the s20, as you can see, has 64 and 212s. Now I would give it to I'm still going to give the winner as far as rear camera goes to the s20. The 64 I imagine, makes up for the fact that, yes, the 851 has four cameras, but the 64 and 212s I feel like is probably and considering it is like again the flagship. I think.

That's probably better fingerprint sensor position on screen for across the board. Um fingerprint sensor type optical, ultrasonic and ultrasonic for the s10 plus and the galaxy s20 it doesn't have it listed here for the Galaxy S10. So if someone wants to drop that comic section, or I might- I might drop it into the uh into the comment section myself or the description. If it's that important, it's got a list of other sensors here as well. Um quick charging.

Yes across the board, um operating system, android, v10, android, v9 um, both those for our v9pi for the Galaxy S10 s10 plus. Then you have android v10q, which is also matches the a51. Then you have a model number. We don't even go over that launch date and just so you're aware that the a51 did come after the s10, and I'll, I'll, I'll kind of explain what I think the a51 really is after uh done with the review or the comparison here, um sim size. We got two hybrids, and then I mean it's basically all it's the same across the board.

I don't know why this one's lacking hybrid, but I assume it's the same- still fingerprint sensor across the board. Yes, networking now the most current version of this, and you'll see this in. I have um Amazon, open Sam um Verizon and a few others, and you'll see that basically um. Unless you buy an older version of the a51 and some of these others, a lot of them have a 5g version now, so you um not that you can't get the 4g version, but you know if it's the same price. You know why? Wouldn't you get the 5g version, and these are the same across the board, the availability of the 4g 3g and 2g across the boards, the same audio jacks, the same for the first three, the 851 s10 plus, and then you have the galaxy s20, which has USB type c for the audio jack? So I mean as much as that's probably a better feature, because I really like the type-c ports myself, I'm guessing you know not.

Everyone has a type-c port as far as an audio jack goes, so I'm guessing that's a little. It could actually be a little of a flaw just depending on what your what you have as far as headphones and uh other uh things you might want to plug into your audio jack loudspeaker. Yes, I mean that's kind of obvious um. Let me see architecture they're, all 64-bit um ram. Again, I don't know what it goes over.

Some of these things: here's the width and the height no not height weight. My bad, I was just assuming with width. It would go into height, um build material. Now this is one of the big differences too, as well: um, the s10 SN plus and Samsung Galaxy 20 or s20. They are all three of them are made of the gorilla glass which a lot of people like, and I hear a lot of positive things about, and the 851, though, however, is made of plastic.

So that's kind of a flaw thickness is relatively the same: 0.1 difference between s10, s10 plus comparative to s20 and 851, and then your color choices doesn't seem like there's as many choices for the s20. I mean I really don't think when it comes down to someone wanting to purchase like any. I think it's like 800 I'll get into the page later you know phone if color is going to make the big difference for them compared to going down to the lower lesser pricing, phones, um aspect, ratio for the display, 20x9, 19x9 and 20x9. So it's relatively the same across the board. It's pretty close, pixel density.

This is where the 851 loses out comparative to the others, as you can see, it's kind of progressively going up from the s10 to the s10 plus and then the s20. Okay, let's see, if there's any, really important, okay screen resolution, you've got 1080, 1440, 1440 and 1440. Um, and it's a little better on the 3200 over here. So obviously, the s10 is the big winner on this one, and I have to say the screen resolution is still pretty impressive. With the 18 I mean the 1080 and the 2400 pixels, it's pretty good.

Still I mean I'm not complaining, or I wouldn't be doing a video on it. I suppose. Well, no, that's not true. I guess. I guess I would do a video on a bad product as well, which I plan to do actually here soon.

Furthermore, I have some I've gotten some new knickknacks on Amazon that are cheap, and I'm not very impressed with them, so I'll be doing that later on um user, available storage, I'm assuming this means like when you open it out of the box, how much is being taken up by systems and stuff? We have n a here for s20, but still you're left with 100, odd gigabytes, and I'm assuming the s20 is relatively close to the same expandable 512 across the board, except for the s20, which allows a full terabyte um. I don't know I mean again, probably with videos or something you're, doing something special with your phone. If you need and desire a one, terabyte micro micros to put into your phone and then image resolution, um, oh well, first, let's go over camera features eight times digital zoom, auto flash face, detection and touch to focus 10 times digital zoom, auto flash face, detection touch to focus, which is the same as the s10 plus. These two are basically the same, and then it says digital zoom. It doesn't give a times' modifier, but I'm assuming, if it's at least equal to the a51 or, if not better than the s10 and s10 plus, then we have autofocus, and this is one of the bad things about the phone.

The a51 ii I mean yeah, the a51, not 512. Uh. This is one of the bad things is the fact that it doesn't have the autofocus feature um. I really think this would make this phone phenomenally better and like one of the best choices out there right now for those who are wanting to save a little of money, but still having a really nice phone as if it had the autofocus autofocus feature I mean you can see the pixels up here, um, which I'm not even sure if this one's right that seems rather extravagant compared to even the s20 it might be, because I don't know I'll have to I'll have to look into this one. I'm not sure if I mean it's literally double um, not that it's not possible.

It's just double um. So we'll get back to that then see if there's anything else going on. Okay recording this is so. This is also an important statistic: um for those who are wanting to maybe take their phones and start off with streaming or recording videos like I'm doing now, so the 851 is 1920 1080 by 30 for 30 frames per second, and then you have a huge jump in um 30 frames per second for the s10, s10 plus, and then you've got and it looks like they can't do the lesser um, I'm guessing the reason. I'm saying that is um.

It shows the game. The Samsung Galaxy s20 has the lower option equal to matching the uh a51. So it's a possibility that these two can't go that low. So it might make things difficult for what video quality you're uploading. Sometimes it might be huge file, sizes and stuff, so this is kind of a nice feature to have the option to either.

You know. Take it to the max with this, or you know, come down a little to uh more normal resolution. People are used to kind of the standard resolution. I would think um talk time. It says 32 hours, 21 hours, these I'm kind of surprised I mean, maybe because, like I said, my friend says it take, he doesn't need to charge his phone all the time with the s10, and he's got the s10 plus, maybe the standing um, not in phone in use hours or longer, and that might be why, or maybe I just use my phone a lot more.

So maybe that's why I have to constantly charge it um and not constantly, but you know once a day I charge once a day and that's all I need to do. I try not to let it overcharge either. So, unfortunately, we don't have the galaxy s20s running hours on this, then that's, basically it and we're going to show you um dollar prices, not pounds. I assume this is pounds, so I'm going to go ahead and close this out. So first I figured I'd.

Take you over to Amazon, so maybe someone who's not wanting to hook up with a provider or get contracts or anything that like that look, maybe someone looking to you know just buy it straight out too so 324 for the galaxy a51 is what you'll be looking at and, of course you know you can wheel and deal with new and used for different prices, though I mean I guess, if it's going to condition, use go for used if you really want to, but I'm a stickler for electronics. I particularly don't like going used. I know a lot of people swear by it, and you know they get good deals and stuff, but um, I'm afraid of a new device coming broken. So you know I might take a chance on it used. So the s10 um is a huge jump.

At least I think it's a huge jump 324 to 449. I mean that's more than a hundred dollars now. Obviously this is on sale right now. So but I mean if it's on sale now, I would expect it to be on sale other times too, and then you have the s10 plus now this one's interesting um. It could just be well yeah it's on sale too.

So normally it is eight hundred and four dollars um, and they're. Basically, half halting it almost you're saving 326. So they basically knocked down the at this point. You know why, wouldn't you buy the s10 plus it's literally cheaper than the Galaxy S10? So I guess, if you really after this video you're, really convinced you want the s10 plus you go for it, then we have the s20 which comes in at a thousand dollars, basically go away, honey, a thousand dollars, but right now it is on sale for 799.99, so you're saving 200. So, as you can see, there's a huge leap from 324 to the 400s, well technically 800 for the s10 plus and then the s20.

Basically a thousand dollars. That's I mean that's a lot of money for a phone, so then to check out two carriers. I figured I'd go to Verizon and um 18g. To give you guys some ideas as far as now, these prices are probably going to be locked in for locally a lot of cell phone companies will ask for your location, and they're going to give you local prices. So I can't, you know, guarantee these prices comparative, especially if you watch this video like a month or two down the line.

So just be aware, these prices may vary, but just to give you an idea what to expect. If you have or going to go with one of these companies, so we have the let's find it: okay, so the galaxy the first one I find um Samsung Galaxy, wait no wrong one. I have to find them now. I had them earlier: okay, Samsung, galaxy, s10 plus, so we've got retail price. It's pretty close.

I actually think it was a little more expensive, the Amazon one but monthly 3541 and then the regular um 749. I mean they really upped the price on these. Verizon did at least the full retail price and then 31.24 a month for that, and then the s20 we have is a 200 difference, comparative Amazon for the full retail price and um 39.99, which the monthly isn't that bad. I mean. If you really want the newest and best phone, you know I mean, except for the plus version of it or whatever other versions.

They have. You know 40 bucks a month isn't terrible. So it's not the worst thing in the world, and then I think oh yeah Samsung Galaxy 851. So I've gone over this phone. You know comparing it to the others where in some cases it wins some cases.

In most cases it ties or loses, and it doesn't lose by much and that's the important factor: um 24 months, zero, IP Apr, but right now you get it for free. So if you're signing up, or you're with them currently- and you want to upgrade or something- I don't know how their upgrades work exactly. But I mean four hundred dollars which is comparative to what we saw on Amazon a little more expensive. But at the same time oh lost my place at the same time. You know if you're starting up with Verizon you're, getting it for free.

So that's a pretty good deal and then, let's head over to 18t, which is what I actually personally go through. I wanted to put at least two companies out there um I didn't do teen mobile, which I think recently bought sprint and not a big fan of sprint um, and I'm really not a big fan of T-Mobile either. So I just didn't want to put them in my video so um we have the s10, which is 40, which is comparative. I believe it's actually exact match yeah. Well, no! Okay! I penny more for 40 uh for the same amount, which is 1 199 um.

Then we have the 851, which is a little more expensive. Now I actually got this phone when I went through 18 t on a deal. I got it for one dollar a month for like two years um and the full retail price is a little higher than it. I think it should be it's showing 500 when we know it's 300 range to 400 range, so maybe, if you're with 18 t, purchase your own phone and just make sure you's unlocked to be able to be used for 18t, and then we have the s10 so 749 and then 25 a month. Furthermore, I think this is a really.

Furthermore, I think for the s was that the plus close these out, okay for the plus okay s10 plus, we see, was 849 and then the Samsung regular s10 was 749. So, okay, here's the s10. I remember now I am okay I'll explain in a second okay. So it's relatively close to the same twenty-five dollars and then, let's see, let's see okay, so actually it'd be better to go with the 18t. If you're going for monthly cost um- and I don't know why they have it I'll show you they have it listed, but you cannot in the search, find the s10 where's my plus button.

Why can't I find the plus button there? It is you can't find it in the shop. At least I couldn't earlier. If it pops up and see it. Just it just shows the Samsung Galaxy s10, so maybe they don't have it anymore. I don't know um, maybe it's on back stock, and they just took it down or something, but I couldn't find it.

So it's unfortunately, something I couldn't add to the comparative as far between Verizon and ATT, for the pricing goes as far as the pricing goes, so kind of enclosing on my opinion is as someone who personally owns the a51. I think it's a perfect phone. I think it's great quality. Furthermore, I think it's everything you want in a kind of newer phone and you don't want to basically break your bank spending a thousand or 800 700 on a phone now I earlier I talked about what I think this phone is. Furthermore, I really think this phone is basically the s10, and they took a year or two to take a look at what they did with the s10, and they thought.

How can we improve keep the same and make maybe make redo the s10 with cheaper parts? I don't mean by cheap bad either. Just you know how to cut costs um, but not exactly cut corners and come out with a perfect product, and I really think this is indeed a perfect product um and if you personally have the phone you know put in the comment section, what you think, if you have the s10 or the s10 plus or the s20, you know put the comment section as well what you think about those, but as far as budget goes for someone who really wants a nice phone for, like I said, a decent price, I really don't think you can go wrong with the a51 right now and that's it for my video hope. Everyone's staying safe and god bless. Okay, as you can see, this is the visual and audio test for the a51 Samsung Galaxy front camera and, as you can see, there's no autofocus, but the picture, in my opinion, is still pretty crisp and clean, and I'll go ahead and do a reverse on the backside to show you the camera quality on that. Okay, this is the back cameras um.

This is the visual quality and also even though it's the same mic on the phone, the orientation may make a difference whether you're filming back or front, but this is the mic test as well for that, so, as you can see, there's basically zero difference. This is the mic test for the phone without um. As you can see the case on it, I wanted to give it a chance to possibly improve, and I figured taking the case off would be the best way to do that. So this is the audio test without the case on you,.
