REDMI 9A: CELULAR BARATO da XIAOMI conquista pela BATERIA | Análise / Review

Subtitled by Paulo Montenegro - paulomontenegro@hotmail. com. br The Redmi 9A is the most basic Xiaomi phone for 2020 that arrives to compete with Galaxy A11, K41s and Moto E7+. Is the Chinese entry -level model a better option than rivals by Samsung, LG and Motorola? You will check out with TudoCelular everything that the Redmi 9A has to offer and if it is worth buying. The Redmi 9A focuses in being a cheap cell phone, and for that, it forgoes to be equipped with several cameras, biometric sensor or even come with a gift box in the box. If you are interested in the basics of Xiaomi, know that you will take home an extremely basic device that proposes simple tasks - its body, made of plastic, has a texture on the back that improves the grip.

That's a wise choice, as Xiaomi's new basics are bigger than before. This prevents, for example, the device from slipping out of your hand. Because you don't have a fingerprint reader, you'll have to settle for facial biometrics. It is even agile, but less secure. It serves to unlock the device but cannot be used with Internet Banking applications, for example.

The rear camera and the Redmi logo left the central part and are now close to the left edge. On the front we continue with a drop notch and the same wedding width as before. You can't expect big changes in design in this segment, but what is disappointing is seeing that the USB-C port has been replaced by a micro USB. Bluetooth has evolved to version 5.0 while Wi-Fi 5 GHz remains absent. Also do not wait for a gyroscope or compass, the Redmi 9A goes in the line that to be cheap you have to make some sacrifices.

The screen grew to 6.5", maintaining the HD+ resolution and the IPS LCD panel from before. Xiaomi promises a maximum brightness of 400 nits and this is basically what the Redmi 9A delivers, that is, using your phone outside the home can be complicated in the days of strong sunlight. at least, the contrast level is higher than Redmi 9 resulting in less washed images. It is very common to see incoming cell with poorly calibrated screens displaying the colors very cold and bluish white. the Redmi 9A flees of that and the color temperature is close to the ideal.

You may even find his white a little yellow, but it causes less visual fatigue. If you don't like it, you can change it in the screen settings. micro-usb. the sound power is only average and is below rivals other brands and even loses to Redmi 9. the sound quality also does not excite, with total absence of serious and quite linear medium.

It's basically a phone with sound focused on the treble, which serves m for videos but it's bad for enjoying music. And as expected from a Xiaomi device, no headphones in the box. Now for the part that is perhaps the most controversial in this analysis: performance. The Redmi 8A came equipped with Snapdragon 439, which has now been replaced by Helio G25 in 9A. In benchmarks we have the same scores as before, so if you were expecting bigger numbers in AnTuTu, for example, forget it - the biggest problem with Redmi 9A is in RAM management.

Because it has only 2GB of memory, it is complicated for it to keep several applications running at the same time. The old man also suffered from it, and now, on MIUI 12, it seems that everything has gotten worse. The system is heavier and requires more memory to run smoothly. Hélio G25 doesn't help much either. As it is a recent chip, it still needs optimization.

We feel this with games mainly, where some titles cannot run on Redmi 9A, as was the case with Asphalt 9. The GPU is the same PowerVR GE8320 as Helio P22, but here it suffers more in games and presents frequent choking. At PUBG you will have an average of below 30 FPS even in the lowest setting, that is, if you are a Gamer, or are looking for a cheap cell phone to play with, you may be disappointed with what Xiaomi's new basics deliver. There are several entry models with MediaTek hardware that deliver better gaming performance. If performance is not the forte of the Redmi 9A, battery, on the other hand, is its biggest highlight.

We have the same 5,000 mAh as before, which yields the day there is no difficulty. It is interesting to see that autonomy has increased even with the largest screen in this generation. Perhaps this is the benefit of replacing Qualcomm hardware with the latest one from MediaTek. In light use and you will have a charge for more than 1 day in peace, surpassing what rivals of other brands deliver in this segment, but what could be better is its recharge time. Xiaomi saved on the charger provided with the device that brings a maximum power of 10-watts, and this makes the 9A spend three hours in the socket.

In a hurry to leave the house? A quick charge recovers just 11% of the battery and even with an hour in the socket you won't have even half the battery to use. The Redmi 9A comes out of the box with Android 10 and MIUI 12. It is curious to see that the most basic of the line already has the most current version of the Xiaomi interface, while several more expensive models of the company are still waiting for this updated version. Some changes were made to the recent screen and the notification panel, but we noticed that the system is heavier - it does not always quickly recognize a user command and has more constant choking than is expected for a cell phone in this range. That may change in future updates but keep in mind that Xiaomi is not one of those that have good support for Android updates - there are models in the same price range that deliver a more fluid and less frustrating experience.

The Redmi 9A features only one camera at the rear and one camera at the front. The resolution went up to 13 MP, however, the focal aperture dropped compared to its predecessor, so expect more darker photos at night. The basics of Xiaomi do just the basics on camera. Is it possible to have good photos to post on Instagram, for example? Well, yes, but in very favorable light conditions. Even in the daytime indoors, a slight graininess can already be seen in the captured images.

There is artificial intelligence, which increases the exposure and gives a slight saturation in the colors, but the effect is so artificial that it is better to use an editing program or filter if you want to make the image more beautiful. The portrait mode is made via software and has constant errors, which can blur the entire photo. Shooting at night then, with the Redmi 9A, is quite complicated - the photos come out so dark, but so dark, that it is almost impossible to identify where the capture was made. There is no night mode to try to save images. Xiaomi capped the front camera, which is even lower in resolution.

The result is that the Redmi 9A records selfie without clarity. There is noise even in pictures taken close to the light, and portrait mode has visible flaws. The camcorder records only in Full HD at 30 frames per second with both cameras. The quality is reasonable, there is no stabilization to deal with the dreaded and the focus is quite slow at night. To make matters worse, the sound capture is mono and muffled audio.

Xiaomi was already good in the entry segment but the Redmi 9A is so basic that it is a bad phone. Its only strong point is the battery, however, there are several in the same price range that also deliver good autonomy. Motorola Moto E7 +, Samsung Galaxy A11 and LG K41s are much faster, suffer from less gagging and run games with superior fluidity. All of these models bring more complete sets of cameras with Motorola being the best for shooting at night and LG being more versatile with an ultra-wide camera and a dedicated for macros. There is no point in recommending the Redmi 9A when there are many better options from Samsung, LG and Motorola in the same price range - it would only make sense if it cost about R $ 200 less, which is not the case today and we will hardly see it happen anytime soon - and that is taking into account the price of the imported model without national guarantee.

The Redmi 9A officially arrived in Brazil thanks to the partnership of Xiaomi with DL, and has an initial price of R$ 1,400 in the version with 32 GB of storage, which makes its recommendation even more complicated. For that price we find even better cell phones with a lot more storage. And of course, we help you to follow the price evolution of the Redmi 9A and all other models mentioned in this analysis.
