OPPO Reno 3 Pro vs Huawei P40: Which is the better camera phone?

We're not quite done yet with the Oppo Renault 3 pro, because in today's video we are going to pit it against the Huawei p40. So I've been using these two devices for about a week already and find them to have rather competitive features, which is why we are going to find out today if the Renault 3 pro is a worthy contender to the Huawei p40. Now, let's start off by talking about your designs, I personally like the aesthetic of the p40, as it is very compact for one swing operation. However, the Renault 3 pro feels easier to handle, despite having a larger footprint and the slightly curved back, gives it a more comfortable grip over the p40. On the other hand, the Renault 3 pro has a headphone jack, which the p40 lacks. It also has a triple slot.73 that accepts two sim cards and a micro SD card that isn't possible on the p40 specs wise. The p40 is the obvious winner when it comes to processing power with the Karin 995g chipset.

It also has 5g and Wi-Fi six connectivity support, but it comes with a slightly smaller battery and half the radar 3 pros internal storage. The Renault 3 pro 6.4 in super AMOLED display, delivers a way superior, viewing experience than the p46.1 inch OLED display, with better contrast and brightness. They both have a peel-shaped cutout for their front cameras as distracting as they might be. The Renault 3 pros cutout is smaller as it doesn't host an IR sensor for facial recognition. Both phones employ optical in-screen, fingerprint scanners, and they work extremely well in my tests coming to the software department.

This is where the rain 3 pro has an advantage over the p40, as it officially comes with Google mobile services preloaded. Although you can spend some effort to side load GMS into the p40, it is still a half big experience, as there are certain apps that couldn't run as the device isn't certified by google. Although the radon 3 pro isn't using a flagship chipset like the p40 real world performance is on par and there's no lags or slowdown like what you would expect from a MediaTek powered device. It is, however, only limited by the chipset's graphics performance, which is a shame, but you probably wouldn't buy either one of these phones for extreme gaming, while one can easily assume the Huawei p40s camera system to outperform the Renault 3 pro. It isn't exactly the case as the Oppo Renault 3 pros main camera is surprisingly able to deliver better dynamic range and detail than the p40 in daytime photos.

This is because the Renault 3 pro has a higher resolution.64 megapixel sensor that shoots at the pixel bin 60 megapixel resolution and is supported by a monochrome lens. Furthermore, you can even shoot up to 108 megapixel photos for more detail shots both their telephoto lens do a pretty good job of getting close to subjects for the respective optical zoom range. However, the p40 does a better job on its 5 times, hybrid zoom, with better details in low light situations. The Renault 3 pro isn't too far behind the p40. When I have both the night modes activated, these photos are taken with extremely weak lighting and, as you can see, the Renault 3 pro plays quite on par with the p40.

Although noise levels are slightly higher, colors are better on the Renault 3 pro. However, the p40 manages better detail with the help of hardware stabilization. The Renault 3 pros 44 megapixel selfie camera is the best I've tested and even with beautified effects turned on. It produces better image quality than the p40s front, 32 megapixel selfie camera in terms of color accuracy and highlights, while it also takes good selfies in the dark all thanks to night mode. When it comes to video recording at 1080p, the Huawei p40s main camera has the advantage of optical image stabilization hardware that results in better handheld shots.

However, the Renault 3 pro combats that with its impressive ultra steady video feature. Although there is a slight degradation in video quality, they are both quite good at stabilizing shots. If you have shaky hands when both are mounted on a gimbals and shoot 4k, the Renault 3 pro seems to be better in maintaining a consistent video frame rate than the p40. Both phones have the same amount of apps installed, and I use them pretty much the same way every day, although the Renault 3 pro has a slightly larger battery than the p40, I experienced a much better battery life with a staggering 7 hours of screen on time, while the p40 managed to score a 5-hour screen on time. It isn't too bad, considering the smaller battery that it has.

But, let's not forget to mention the Renault 3 pro supports a faster 30 watt charging speed versus the p40s 22.5 watt, current, which the former will get you back on track. A lot faster. The Oppo Renault 3 pro retails at 23.99 ringgit, which is 400 ringgits cheaper than the Huawei p40, I'm confident to say that the Renault reyno3 pro has the better overall value in this comparison. Video many for two reasons, because first, you do not need to bother about installing GMS onto this thing and, secondly, you're really not missing out much in terms of features from the p40. Although I do wish that Oppo could have slapped on the better processor on this thing.

But it is what it is. It still performs great on a daily basis, so that's pretty much for today's comparison. Video do, let me know your thoughts in the comments section down below and check out the camera samples in the links in the description, and you will be surprised on how well the reyno3 pros camera performance stack up against the Huawei p40 as for now.
