OnePlus 8T Unboxing (Media Kit Version/ Aquamarine Green)

Hi guys this is json. com, and I'm here with a huge box. It's the media kit box for the OnePlus 8t, which was unveiled on October 14th. So it's still rather fresh okay. So this media kit is supposed to be not your average box, it's definitely bigger than your average box, and it's going to be a bit tough unboxing it. But it's also a challenge, and we welcome a challenge so check this out, see the way how it opens like the doors of the tesla model x and it's so red that the camera is probably confused and showing it closer to pink or orange.

It says hello here, and this is the full flagship which OnePlus has unveiled recently and in some ways it's an upgrade in other ways: it's a continuation of the OnePlus 8, and here we have the reviewers guide, which we're going to read to create a proper review. Okay, I'm going to put this aside, and this is where the fun starts. So the phone should be priced at 618 euros for the 8, gig ram version and also 721 euros for the 12 gig ram version and in our media kit press version. We have bundled two cases. This is the cyan.

It's the cool silicon cover and this one here, mimics the circuitry uh sort of in a matrix-like way. This one should be priced at around 33 euros. It's called cyborg cyan has printed circuits on it. Pretty cool, okay and the start of the show is obviously the smartphone as usual. OnePlus prefers long boxes, okay, so let's get everything out of the way and proceed to the actual real unboxing.

Okay. So here we are with the long box of the OnePlus 8t, the full flagship. It's got the snapdragon 165 CPU, and also it's the first phone with two premieres from OnePlus. Now it should have a 65 watt charging, which is something we haven't seen in a while and also always on display. These are its core novelties.

It's all about that red. They really love the red hue, and it's a special kind of red. I would say it's towards the patented hue. From Vodafone, but I think it's actually something else inside the box, we have this metal key used to access the slots, and here should be a dedication from the company's CEO, okay, information data, stickers and so forth. So much red like Santa Claus coming to town- and this is the actual phone I'm blessed enough to have the cyan version of it.

It's called the aquamarine green, and it's a doozy. It's actually pleasant on the eyes. I'm actually loving. This hue here is maybe called aqua marine. But for me, it's closer to cyan, it's a very vivid green, something you'd see if you were vacationing in Bali or other tropical environments where the water is closer to green than blue.

Now the camera module feels a bit like a fatter, galaxy s21 and the phone itself feels pretty light. Definitely a premium build, wouldn't see it breaking anytime soon. It's a combination of aluminum, glass and glass. Once again, I'm going to fire it up, make no mistake. I've already set it up, so we'll not waste time.

I can already tell there's a new haptic engine here. Furthermore, I already felt the vibration, and it's a bit different compared to most phones. Furthermore, I can also see that the back side would easily track grease and sweat from the hands. So a case is definitely useful. Okay, so, let's see what else we have inside this box a bit overkill with the cases.

So, let's input the code here and, as I said before, overkill with the cases we're also getting this one with never settle and the cable which, by the way is proprietary, so you will not get all the benefits of the 65 watt charging. If you don't have this cable, and it goes from USB to USB, and I'm curious to see nope, they don't have lids on the cable. This time, usually they like to put lids on it. Interesting it's in the small details. They forgot the lids and here's the hefty gigantic huge charger.

This is the USB connector, and they're, promoting it as able to juice up your Nintendo Switch. Even your laptop, that's how potent it is. Okay, I think we're about done with the box. I will not bore you further. This is the actual start of the show you can tell it's well-built and what you're seeing here is not your typical oxygen OS.

It's oxygen, OS 11 applied on top of android 11. Now, we've gotten past the build with glass and metal. If you want to talk measurements well, we're dealing here with a handset that feels pretty light, 188 grams and 8.4 millimeters in thickness. I would say it's not slippery at first sight, but the weight is so well distributed. That feels like it flies from your hand, rather fast, okay, so getting uh past.

All of these, I have to say that the display you're seeing right here is a fluid AMOLED with a diagonal of 6.55 inches, which nowadays some people may even consider small, not the case 2400 over 1080 pixels, 120, hertz refresh rate and at the same time it supports HDR, 10 plus and has gorilla glass 5 protection. Now inside we have the CPU, the famous CPU snapdragon 865, they didn't go, they didn't go for the plus version and the phone comes in versions with four excuse me with eight or 12 gigs of ram and 128 or 256 gigabytes of storage. There's no love for the micros this time around, but it's no surprise. We've seen that happen over and over and over again now the storage we're getting is UFS 3.1, but the ram is only lpddr4x, not lpddr5, so they skimped on that a little. It's a dual sim phone with 5g connectivity.

It's got a 4 500 William hour battery with 65 watt charging, and you're supposed to get to 100 in 39 minutes. Okay, so there's also no audio jack. Here, there's only a mic at the top and at the bottom you find the USB port, the slots and the speaker. I would, should say actually speakers, because this handset provides you with a stereo setup. Aside from that, there is an in display fingerprint scanner, so you can safely open it up by registering your print, and I think I actually did that.

Okay, and aside from that, we have a cutout here, which you probably already noticed. This cutout is for the selfie camera which I'm set to inform. It has fixed focus, 16, megapixel shooter, only full HD, video, no love for 4k this time around and uh. If you go to the back side, things get a bit more interesting. You can see that we have a dual led flash here, which is pretty nice to see.

There is a 48 megapixel main camera with the familiar sensor, the Sony mix 586, with optical image, stabilization combined with electronic stabilization, and aside from that, there's a 16 megapixel ultra-wide camera, there's a 5 megapixel macro camera and a 2 megapixel monochrome both camera. So they gave up on the telephoto cam. You can take 4k 60 frames per second videos and there is a vapor chamber inside for gamers, which is supposed to be something like almost 300 percent bigger than before. We're also pretty well covered in the connectivity department, and when I say that I'm referring to the fact that we're getting Wi-Fi six Bluetooth, 5.1, NFC and GPS, dual-band as well as 5g. I know it looks pretty weird to see this ultra minimalistic interface, which is uh so different from what we were used to before oxygen OS was actually closer to a pixel experience rather than this one UI wannabe as people call it, I'm calling it a one UI wannabe, because it's very much focused on well one hand, usage.

Okay, I don't think I forgot anything I should mention. We have the zen 2.0 mode, there's the fanatic mode for gamers. This is android 11, with also the promise of Dolby Atmos. This is how you zoom in digitally. This is the ultrawide setup.

This is your portrait mode knights. Cap has nights cape, has evolved, there's also a pro mode and the OnePlus implemented something new. Here you can take both videos, so you can blur the stuff behind the person. There's also slow motion panorama and time-lapse. Pretty fluid experience, I would have to say I have a curiosity related to the refresh rate.

So if I go here, I'm curious to see if they have an auto option so aside from 120 hertz, so let's actually go there and screen calibration refresh rate. Now just 120 or 60, there is no auto mode which would have saved us a bit of battery okay, I'm pretty curious about these cases, but I'm just going to open this one. Hopefully it's not glued uh, it's glued. Here we go it's supposed to be pretty cool, techie and nerdy, and definitely increase the grip of the phone, which is something we only need. It feels a bit heavier than expected, and here we go.

That's how you slap it on and voil? how cool does it look? I think it's actually one of my favorite cases in recent history. Okay, so this is pretty much it. This has been the first impressions, it's a phone, that's pretty light and well-built um. I find it worrying that we're getting no love this time for the telephoto camera, but apparently more people are worried nowadays about macros, and I say it again: this is the first phone where they actually put an always-on display feature which I should probably start looking up and customize as we head towards the review. Anyway, I'm going to look into it.

It's probably here somewhere, the always on display. We have also reading mode, we have dark mode, extra features and so much more to discover and from what I know, the always-on mode should provide you with something like 11 options to display stuff on your home screen. Okay, so this is pretty much it. Uh has been a pretty long, unboxing, we'll be back with a full review very soon. Bye, bye.
