To guys its Sam today, I am mad hyped because I have the second-generation Apple Pencil and the brand-new 2018 iPad Pro in my hands. I've been looking forward to these products for months, and they're. Finally, here so let's go ahead and take these out of the box. So, of course, if you want to see more videos on the new iPad Pro hit, subscribe down below and drop a like if you're excited about this product, let's go ahead and take this out of the plastic wrap right here, largely until you get inside. It is a very similar unboxing experience to pretty much any other Apple or iOS product on the market, but once you get inside there are some big changes, alright, so taking the iPad Pro out of the box here, it is in all its glory. I think it looks absolutely fantastic, but there is something else that I want to show you guys inside the box this year.
That is very, very different. For the first time ever on an iOS device number one, an 18 watt charging brick. This was rumored to be included with the new iPhones Apple. Didn't do that, so we only got a 5 watt adapter, but with the new iPad pros, you get a brand new 18 one adopter that should charge these up crazy, crazy, fast and another big part of this is the port not only on the new iPad, but on this power brick, it is USB. So inside the box, no lightning, cable, no USB seat, a lighting, cable.
You get a straight up: USB, c2, USB, cable, but of course we're turning to the main attraction. It's the new iPad Pro, and you can see it is phenomenal when I first picked it up, I was blown away by its thinness. Its lightness I had a 20-17 iPad Pro I thought that was sort of the gold standard like it can't get much better than that. But this is unreal like that's. The only words I can use to describe it.
This is absolutely unreal. Holding this in your hands feels like you're holding a piece of air I feel like if Apple went back to the iPad Air branding. That may be more effective here, because I don't think they've done a great job marketing. How different this feels because it does feel very different, because the design language here is very different. It's not just another iPad, it is a complete redesign.
It's the biggest change to the iPad since the iPad came out in 2010 and there's actually a lot new with this iPad. So I want to run everything through its paces. I want to take a look at this screen. I want to take a look at photos and videos, listen to the new speakers and try out the Apple Pencil too and finally see if you can charge an iPhone with the new iPad spoiler. You can, and it is amazing, so here's the new iPad Pro in all of its glory.
Looking at the screen, I'm, absolutely blown away. I have wanted to see this design an iPad since the iPhone 10 was announced, and you'll notice here face ID that module is located over here on the left side of this current orientation or obviously on the top of the device when you're holding it like this. But because of that, there's no notch, it's embedded directly into the bezel and I think. That's definitely the right move like imagine an iPhone that looked like this I think I'd be happier with equal bezels, all the way around then ultra-thin bezels on three sides of the device and then a notch at the very top or somewhere. I think this looks fantastic.
The LCD liquid Retina display on here does look amazing. Obviously, all my apps are still downloading. It is important to note that the screen is pretty much entirely new, like that is the big takeaway here, but most of your apps are going to be similar. Most of them are going to work the same. The way you use your iPad I, don't think is fundamentally going to change.
If you buy a new one, if you had an open one or if it's your first time buying an iPad but using it is definitely gonna, be a majorly improved experience just because everything now stretches from this corner to that corner. Let's take a look at the new Apple Pencil, so here it is wise out. Super, super easily definitely feels crazy, like the original Apple Pencil was already thin in light, and this feels a little thinner and wider, probably to match the new aesthetic of the new iPad Pro. Let me zoom in here on the new branding at the top, does look a little different here, but it's thin and light. It feels good, and it is now magnetic on this side, so you can stick it right on the iPad rather than having to charge it in a super awkward way.
So, let's head back to the iPad and try to set this up so to set that up. I believe I just said it like this automatically latches on, and it lets me know right there that this is a brand-new Apple, pencil and I would definitely like to connect to that right. Now, okay and there's a little pop-up right here as well for what you can do, use apps in a whole new way, create an instant note, switch tools with a gesture, Explorer double tap, so double tap when you have a pencil I assume I can try this right now, oh okay, that's really cool, so it is, it is responsibly showing me we tap on done, so I know that there are instant notes, I, believe you just tap once, and it works pretty well. It definitely feels very similar to the other Apple Pencil. Latency is maybe a little better, but very, very similar just because the original Apple Pencil had an incredible latency if you've ever used an Apple Pencil before it's a very similar experience.
The latency is fantastic again, but it feels lighter. It is a little thinner. It's magnetic now, so storing it on your iPad is so much better. You don't have to do the super awkward pairing process that you've had to do in the past, just latches on the top and will tell you're connected and will show you the battery level, and you can move on with your day now. The new iPad also has faced ID instead of touch ID.
There's no sensor on the back clearly- and there is no home button here, so I want to try it out and see how quick it is because it does have the 12 X Bionic processor inside, which is even faster than the new iPhones. So behind my camera it could be a little weird, but if I do this and swipe up it's instant, let me do that one more time. This might even be faster than on my new iPhone wow I. Think we're to the point where that's quicker than touch ID. That is that's insane honestly, that's the biggest part of the iPad that is blowing my mind so far.
That is crazy. I also definitely need to test the new camera system, so I want to pop outside real, quick and shoot some photos and take some video see how it all looks whoa. This is so shaky. What there's no way! This is the actual camera. There's a squirrel.
I can actually film it come here buddy. Could we call me? Oh, he doesn't like he's like this. They position is awful. Give this away from me. That's a while.
Okay, so color on videos, I'm noticing right now looks pretty good, like the dynamic range is pretty incredible. There's a card which is true. This is like the best video ever, but the stabilization I mean I'm, just standing still right now, panning around you guys can see this. This is me walking. It really looks like there's a different kind of mechanism on here.
I, don't think, there's any mechanism yeah. The stabilization is just pretty awful, like the quality is great blown away about the quality, looks man, that's us for kid.30 frames per second and smart HDR functionality. I can totally see that in the works putz stabilization. This is weird like. Why would Apple just not put that on here? Photos are a totally different story here.
They look at just as good as the photos that I was getting on my iPhone tennis that I am getting on my 10s and 10 are the smart, HDR functionality working properly expose a number of things in a frame at the same time? Is amazing, I loved it when it first came out on the iPhone, and now it's on the iPad and the photos tell the story here: they are the best photos that I've ever gotten not only on an iPad, but that I've seen come out of a tablet in my entire life now right here, I have the 2017 iPad Pro and apparently the speakers on the new iPad Pro or better. So I want to do a really quick comparison here. Let me start by playing this I'm gonna. Do it first it right around a 50% volume, a very reasonable, listen your volume, and then we'll crank it up to max and compare both again all right. So honestly, both of the iPads sounded really great.
They do a pretty good job at separating highs. Mid's and lows at 50%, but when I cranked it up to a hundred I, have no question in my mind that the new iPad Pro sounded better. The bass is definitely improved. Generation, / generation and I. Think that's due to a new speaker design, but usually when you crank an iOS device up to a hundred percent, they get a little distorted.
They get really tinny, really MIDI and there's really no bass at all, and while they have 2017 iPad Pro, the old model was pretty good at it. New iPad Pro is a lot better. This was cranked up to a hundred. Everything sounded perfectly balanced, which is insane. That's because you've got these four gigantic speakers going around the edges of the iPad and that definitely pays off new speakers here are a major win.
Now, there's one more thing that I have to try out with a new iPad Pro on stage. Apple showed that you could charge something like an iPhone from the iPad, so I bought a USB, see the lightning cable can't believe I spent like 20 or 30 dollars on this, but plug one end. The USB see into the new iPad, and I'm going to plug the other end right now into my iPhone at 10s. This is actually gonna, be pretty cool if you can use your iPad as a power bank plug it in look at the charging. My iPhone from my iPad just think you'd only chuck Apple until 2018 it to make this happen, but it is pretty cool I've actually liked as much as I'm kind of hating on the feature and joking about it, it's actually really cool, and I'm excited.
As you can see, this is pretty it's pretty cool, alright guys. So this is the new iPad at pro is pretty much everything that I wanted it to be. The only part of this so far that has disappointed me or let me down is the stabilization on camera and the only thing I can say to that you are, probably if you're buying this device not going to be using it a lot to shoot videos, but the photos. Look incredible. The quality of the video looks great alpha pencil, ? I'm, a big fan of so far, I love the new screen.
I love face ID. The battery life already seems to be pretty good but of course, stay tuned at for my full review. You will not want to miss out on that. So heed subscribe down below for more videos on the new iPad at drop, a like. If you enjoyed this video or learn something new, that's all I've got for you.
