Introducing the Poco f2 pro. I don't think it needs any introduction, because this is a highly anticipated smartphone that continues the legacy of the Poco f1, or does it but either way I've been using the Poco f2 pro for about two weeks now, and here are my thoughts about this brand-new flagship killer, and we'll also focus on our six points about this phone. So, let's start off with the performance of the Poco f2 pro, because I think that's what the main selling point of this phone is, and since it has this list of specs, it's obviously going to perform with a flagship level of performance. And here are the benchmarks: I'm not really going to focus much about it because, as you know, the snapdragon 865 is a very powerful chip and if you are buying this phone today, you are going to get the best performance that you can currently get for your money and if you're worried about gaming experience, I did post a video playing games with the Poco f2 pro, so you can check it out in the top right corner there as well- and my second point about this phone here is, of course the screen. So I would say that this screen has good brightness and dimness. Alongside with good colors.
I wouldn't consider it as the best color reproduction screen right here, but it's definitely good, and it's using AMOLED display by the way, and it kind of reminds me of the Xiaomi mi 90 pro or the k20 pro from last year. It doesn't have any notch, so the selfie camera has been moved to this pop-up thing at the top there, it's kind of the same pop-up module for the selfie camera, and it also has that light bar thing around the sides. When it's popping out so yeah and this phone is definitely not water resistant because of the selfie pop-up camera, while many people complain about this phone not having more than 60 hertz, so maybe 90 or 120 or maybe 144 hertz, I personally don't care. I want more battery life and game support on higher refresh rates is still hit-and-miss, and overall I would say that 60hz is still plentiful. Now about the battery life of the Poco f2 pro, which is my third point.
This phone comes with a 4 700 William hour battery, and it can last for about more than 18.5 hours in our battery life test, which I'd say, is a very good performing battery right here, and I'm not too sure why this phone can last much longer than the black shark tree. Maybe it's because the single cell battery is much more efficient than dual cell battery. I don't know, but the charging time is definitely not as fast as the black shark tree, so it takes about slightly more than an hour to reach from 15 to 100. With that 33 watt hour charger, that's included with the phone itself, which I think it's fair, okay, so enough about the specs. Now, let's talk about the design, so the Poco f2 pro comes with a few different colors cyber gray, phantom white electric purple and neon blue.
So I've seen the electric purple and the neon blue side by side and the electric purple has this kind of matte finish whereby this neon blue has a clear finish. I would much rather prefer this neon blue color to be in matte finish, because I think that would look a lot better than how it is right now, and many people also saw this Poco f2 pro and said that this color is very beautiful, and they want to hold it. And the first thing that they said to me was: this: phone is unexpectedly heavier than it looks, which is not really that heavy to begin with, but I do understand where they are coming from so this phone. If you try to balance it on your finger on the center like this, you will feel that this phone is top heavy. What I mean by that is that there is some sort of rotational force when you're holding it with one hand, and you feel like the phone is always trying to topple like this, so yeah, I'm not sure why this design is like this.
But overall I do feel like that. Rotational force is a bit annoying when you're trying to hold it either way. The Poco f2 pro has a pretty standard, smartphone design with a large circular cutout. Here it has an IR blaster up top a headphone jack, which I truly appreciate and dual NATO sim card slots which they are using this kind of top and bottom facing. Do NATO sim card design here, which means that they are maximizing the amount of space that it's taking.
And my fifth point here are the cameras, so the Poco f2 pro comes with a total of four cameras at the back, but only three of them are usable, so the main camera. Here I would say that it's good-looking under broad daylight. It could use a little more contrast and color vividness. Currently, it's quite dull- and I also disabled HDR, since it makes the shadows way too bright, and it's just not something that I prefer and the HDR mode also failed to normalize. The exposure when I'm taking a picture of this signboard at night then comes the AI mode, which I think it's a bit weird under broad daylight.
I didn't see it do anything at all, but under low light conditions, not even nighttime by the way the AI mode just brings out too much noise, so I disable the air mode as well, but the ultra-wide angle, camera here is pretty standard. It is a fixed focus, ultra-wide angle, camera and overall, it does seem to have the same characteristics as the main camera as well. It will take some editing to make the picture look nice, but I'm not going to do it in this video. But what surprised me the most is, of course, the macro camera. This is a telephoto macro camera.
So I took a lot of close-ups with this phone right here, because it has autofocused as well, and the results are just fantastic. I do love some of that texture pictures right here, but it's kind of difficult to focus using the auto mode on this camera. It can be noisy, sometimes, and it's kind of difficult to stabilize that macro mode. So I would say that if you want to take good macro, shots do get yourself a tripod for this phone, and luckily this phone has a manual mode for the micro camera as well, and since we updated to mini 12, this phone comes with a revamped camera UI, which is very similar to Samsung's camera interface. In terms of how interactive it can be, and you can also customize the camera modes in the UI itself, just like Samsung's built-in camera app.
And with that note we will talk about our last point, which is the software. So this phone comes with android 10 with mini 12. Yes, we updated it to mini 12. And to get that camera interface, you have to update to the latest mini 12 as well and immediately. We are greeted with the new super wallpaper, which is representing a part of earth and Mars accurately, which is something that I really like.
Overall mini 12 is just more like a facelift compared to the mini 11. The settings menu is still kind of hectic. There are flashier animations here and there, but generally it looks and feels pretty much the same as the previous mini 11. , so yeah. So should you buy the Poco f2 pro? I would say that if you are on a limited budget, and you want to get the snapdragon 865 no matter what, then obviously the Poco f2 pro is the most affordable one to have that chipset for you and yeah.
That's about it, because if you're aiming for specs at the lowest price, this is the phone to go. So if you have any questions, do leave them down in the comment section below we'll try to answer them, and we'll see you in the next video.
