IQOO 3 Long Term Review

Iq3 is the cheapest phone with snapdragon 865, and it has some really cool features like monster touch buttons superfast charging, an amazing AMOLED display and a well-rounded camera setup, with a perfect starting price of just under 30 000 rupees right now. Should you buy it? Well, I've quested, on and on with this phone for several months and now in this video I'll share my experience of using this phone so that you can decide whether you should buy this phone or not. So without any further ado, let's get started, the ik3 has a simple, elegant, design, nothing that stands out, but also nothing annoying. While it's not the slimmest or lightest phone around, it is reasonably sized. Making it easy to hold the build quality is solid and feels premium in the hand with the metal and glass construction. There is gorilla glass 6 on the back.

The front glass is from short sensation, but I haven't had any scratches, despite not using any screen protector. There is no official IP rating here, but the rubber gasket in the sim tray suggests some level of splash resistance, which is a good thing. The display used in this phone is one of its strongest points. It's a super AMOLED display, so you get deep blacks and lively colors. It also gets extremely bright with peak brightness of over 1000 nits.

Furthermore, it is also HDR, 10 plus certified, but unfortunately, HDR is only supported on youtube but not Netflix. However, HD video is supported in Netflix and other streaming platforms, as it is also wide one l1 certified one thing missing here is any kind of high refresh rate, so it's limited to 60 hertz, which is slightly disappointing, but it at least has 180 hertz touch sampling rate for more responsive gaming. Audio experience has been kind of a mixed bag. For me, on one hand, you get an audio jack, which is a rarity among high-end phones. These days and the sound quality delivers is also perfect, as it has a built-in HIFI DAC, and it is also higher is audio certified.

On the other hand, I am quite disappointed with the speaker here. You only get one bottom firing speaker in terms of volume. It is decent, but it is completely lacking in terms of base or depth, and it sounds quite muffled here is a speaker comparison between these two phones. Obviously, the RO g phone 2 is way better coming to the earpiece. It's pretty good, no complaints in terms of in-call volume and quality.

So, yes, the audio experience is good, but could have been better. I actually wasn't expecting a lot from this phone's camera, but it has actually surprised me in a good way. First, the camera setup is actually quite versatile, with a decent primary camera, a telephoto camera and an ultra-wide angle, camera, which also doubles up as a super macro camera. Secondly, the image processing done here is also quite good, with sharp details, vibrant colors, good HDR performance and good color parity between all cameras. The super macro shots are also very impressive.

The night mode, however, is not impressive, and there is no HDR in selfie portraits, which is a bit disappointing. However, this phone does have full camera to API support, so you can easily install Guam mod and fix those shortcomings, but one area of slight disappointment that cannot be fixed is video recording. It can record in 4k 60fps with the primary camera, which is good, but you have to dial down all the way to 1080p 30fps. If you want any kind of stabilization, that is quite disappointing, as even budget and mid-range phones have started providing as at 4k 30 fps these days, the front camera is also limited to 1080 30 fps and offers no stabilization. So overall, the camera setup on this phone is actually quite capable, especially for stills, but in terms of video, it could have been better performance is one area where I have no reservations.

This is the most powerful phone in its price range. Without any doubt, I have pushed this phone to its limits with long sessions of intense gaming, and it hasn't disappointed me even once it does get warm during these long gaming sessions, but there is hardly any noticeable thermal throttling, which is quite impressive. The cooling system in this one is definitely doing a good job to improve the gaming experience. IQ has added two useful features. First, is the monster touch buttons inspired by ROG phone's air triggers? They work quite well in terms of responsiveness.

However, I am not quite impressed by the haptic feedback, especially compared to the likes of ROG phone 2 and 3. Secondly, the charging cable has been designed in such a way that you can use it while gaming again. This solution is not as good as dual charging ports of ROG phones, but it's definitely better than having a normal, USB cable while gaming. So if you are looking for the best gaming experience under 35 or even 40 000 rupees iq3 is the phone to get iq3's. Igor UI is basically a slightly modified version of Eve's fun touch OS while I've not been a fan of VIVO's UI in the past because of its iOS inspiration.

This IQ UI is surprisingly pretty good and usable. You get a launcher with an app drawer. The toggles have moved back to the notification sheet exactly where they are meant to be, and the general UI design has moved in a completely different direction compared to iOS in terms of ram management. This phone does well, although I must say that when you turn off the screen, ICO is quite aggressive with putting background apps to sleep. However, there is still some room for improvement.

The always on display doesn't show any notification badges other than missed calls in SMS, which makes the always on display less useful. So far, this phone has been getting updates quite often, and the android 11 updates is also around the corner. Igor has also promised android 12, as well as one more year of security updates for this phone. So that's very good in terms of long term support coming to the battery department. Again, I'm very impressed.

I have been getting over 7 hours of screen on time, even with intense gaming of over 2 hours, and when you are running low on battery the included charger will bring a smile on your face with It's superfast charging speed, the included 55 watt charger gets your battery from 0 to 40 in just 15 minutes and almost 80 percent in just half an hour, so I'm very happy with the battery life as well as the charging speeds on offer here. The biometric authentication system on this phone is superfast, be it the face unlock or the under display fingerprint scanner. No sensors are missing on this phone also in terms of connectivity. It's pretty good with the addition of Wi-Fi 6, but it does miss out on NFC, at least in India, in terms of call quality and network reception. I have had no issues whatsoever.

It supports 4g plus, as well as voice over Wi-Fi. This phone is made in India and comes in a really nice box with a case charger and earphones all included conclusion time. So, as you have seen in this review, this phone is just packed with features and does a perfect job in almost all departments and with such an attractive pricing right now. This phone really deserves to be on your shortlist, not just in terms of a gaming phone, but also as a complete package. Alright, that's it for the video hope you enjoyed it and found it helpful.
