iPhone X vs iPhone 7 Plus

So, what is up guys Nick here, helping you to master your technology and welcome to the iPhone 10 versus the iPhone 7 plus now this is more of a full comparison. I will speed test these things later. We're going to begin by talking about the key specs that matter. I'm not gonna, go too in depth here, iPhone 10 5.8 inch, OLED display it does give you a 12 megapixel, dual camera on the rear. You do have a 2700 is battery here William hours, and you don't have touch ID. You have faced ID unlock.

Now you don't have a headphone jack as well, so seven megapixel camera on the front of the iPhone, 10, and you'd have OLED panel, which is the sharpest display you're ever gonna, see on an iPhone. Now the iPhone 7 plus does give you a 5.5 inch. LCD Retina display very sharp display here on the iPhone 7, plus, not the sharpest in the world. You do have a 12 megapixel rear. Dual camera set up.

Telephoto lens means you could do portrait mode on the rear, no portrait mode on the front, but you do get a 7 megapixel camera on the front. Now both of these are ip67 rated, meaning that they're both water resistance either one you get you can get wet now the front of these devices. Do you have speakers up here for audio and speakers at the bottom? Both do omit the headphone jacks, so you do have to rely on their audio source or Bluetooth, but this one gives you Bluetooth, 5.0 I, believe this one's 4.2 so slightly different Bluetooth technology. This one is a little more future-proof. So let's get into the design the body in the build so right out the gate.

You're going to notice that the iPhone 10 feels, like you, know, a plus iPhone sandwiched into a smaller body. So that's really what I'm getting here so far. However, it's not designed to work like a plus iPhone. This doesn't have Zoom mode. You can't zoom.

The icons like you could do on the plus, and it doesn't have portrait mode like you could do here on the plus. The iPhone plus is still a plus phone. It still feels like an iPhone. It was designed to work like a little mini tablet, a little bigger iPhone this one, even though it has a taller. You know bigger display in a smaller body.

It still feels like it was designed to work like the smaller iPhones designed to work in portrait. So overall the design seems a little. Let me take it out of the case really quickly. Just put because you know these tables do scratch these phones up over here it does look like it's about the same thickness, maybe slightly thicker on the iPhone 10. You can see you do have a camera up on both, but that camera up is bigger on the iPhone 10 overall, their weight very similar I think that the weight on the iPhone 10 is a little lighter.

Bezels are just much larger on the iPhone 7 plus as well. So overall, when it comes down to design this really comes down to do you want this all screen, or do you like the classic iPhone design? That's really what it comes down to. You know a lot of people are still going to dig the classic iPhone design, and here it really comes down to personal preference. I personally think that the iPhone 10 needs to get rid of that notch. Before I can say it's the best iPhone design I've ever seen, it's still a fantastic design.

It's still nice to see something new, but we still I think we need to get to the all screen, like literally all screen before we can say. Oh my god, it's really time to update so 7 plus users. You still have a pretty fantastic device. Is what I'm saying alright guys? So should you update when it comes to the displays here, so I'm not talking now about the design of display? That's old news. We know what this is already all screen, design talking about, display quality itself.

Now the AMOLED panels, gonna, give you deeper ink your blacks than the LCD on the iPhone 7, plus now every media source out there, all the mainstream media. You know, mumbo jumbo is gonna. Tell you yeah best display ever OLED the best display ever on an iPhone. You know they don't even take an account, your personal opinion, which I like to take into account. You know how old that is: fantastic, deep, blacks, punchy colors, you know inky.

This is a sharper display than the 7 plus. However, some people don't really look at the fact that LCD is a technology. That's been around for a very long time and to some people's eyes. LCD actually feels better to their eyes, so they might like to enjoy reading and an LCD more than an OLED display. You know this is a whole thing of you know the shiny object in the room.

It's distracting! That's the OLED panel. It's the shiny object in the room. That's going to draw everyone's attention, but is it better is really a personal opinion now, in terms of sharpness, this panel is sharper than seven plus. That's a pure fact. There's no doubt about it.

The text on here is sharper, then on the seven plus, but is it so much sharper? The average person's going to see it? Probably not the colors, definitely more punchy on the iPhone 10, but is it gonna matter to everybody? Is it $500? More because it's about what you're going to pay for an iPhone, 10 I, don't know that really comes down to your personal perspective. What I just want to stay here, you do get an updated design here in the iPhone 10. You do get a better display here in my personal opinion, but if you like, LCD's you're- probably not going to care too much about this OLED panel, which, by the way, wasn't tweaked to be super saturated like the one on like a Galaxy series device. So it doesn't look that much different from the prior iPhone displays. Besides the fact that it does have ink here, blacks here, so if you're coming from a 7 plus you're going to notice it right away, it's an updated display, but your eyes are gonna, take some time adjusting to it.

So that's how I feel about the displays between iPhone 10 in the iPhone 7 plus I do want to mention, though, that I do miss the fact that you cannot zoom the display on the iPhone 10 versus on the iPhone 7 plus. Now some people don't care about that. But from time to time, I'm sure you did like to zoom your display and come back down to the small icons. It was just a nice customization feature to have for the Plus model. Okay, guys, let's get into software here between both devices, both are gonna.

Give you I owe s11 software, but it runs differently. The control center now comes down from the top of the iPhone 10 versus the iPhone 7 plus. So it's kind of a different experience here also you do use your home button to close out apps and go into apps here on the iPhone 7 plus you're going to have to use this half press gesture control, and then you got to wait for it to come in, and you have to have this step right here to go ahead and close out the applications. Now, for those of you who are, you, know, embraced love to embrace change. I do love to embrace change.

I like the new features on the iPhone 10 you're going to enjoy it. You know it's going to be a learning curve, but you got to learn if you want to advance with the new technologies. However, some people are going to love their classic home button, and they're not gonna, be ready to change to this. So again, even in the software they're, both going to run extremely fast, extremely smooth. There going to give you the same core experience sans the face: ID you're going to get here and touch ID, but you don't get touch ID here on iPhone ten.

It really is going to come down to do you want a classic iPhone experience, or do you want the modern new experience in the future of maybe the entire iPhone experience, and you're going to want the iPhone 10 personally I? Think as it is in its current form, the 7 plus offers a better software experience than the iPhone 10, because applications are not updated for this new aspect ratio. So if I do hit a PI geek, for example, you're going to see it stretches the entire screen here. There's black bars at the bottom and there's a lot of space here when you're texting, sometimes on the iPhone 10 at the bottom. You will see a space at the bottom, so there's some work that needs to be done on the software of the iPhone 10, whereas the 7 plus is a refined beast. It's ready to go right now, so software right now I think it's more refined on the iPhone 7 plus, but it's nice to see that we're going to see new changes and new differences going forward for the iPhone 10, okay guys.

So let's talk just a little about performance. I'm, not gonna, go on and on about this. These phones are both extremely fast 810 quad-core, with the three gigs of ram, an 11 with three gigs of ram. Both have very well optimized software and very good GPUs. So day-to-day these phones are not gonna, feel any different.

I will do a proper speed test between both of these. You know in video, editing and stuff like that, you might see a difference, but like I say, if you picked either one of these up right now, you're going to get similar performance they're, both lightning fast, and you know, they're, not gonna change your life. So what I mean by that is, if you're using an iPhone 7 plus you come to an iPhone 10, the performance is not life. Changing it's not gonna. Make you more efficient more fast.

Just because you have an 11. The seven plus is still a rocket when it comes to performance, so I'm not calling it a draw. The iPhone 10 has better performance, but the iPhone 7 plus, is only a hair behind the iPhone 10 in real-world practice, okay guys. So what about those cameras? You have dual camera setups here for both of these, if you're using a seven plus- and you want to come to an iPhone, 8 plus. Well, your design is going vertical.

I, don't know how you feel about that, but the 7 plus definitely still had a great camera. The iPhone 10 just to another level, improves it just a little more. You get more saturated colors. You still get the portrait mode, but I mean look at that photo on the 7 plus. It's still fantastic here and nobody's going to be disappointed with their camera.

Experience on the 7 plus, actually when the 7 plus was around everyone was saying, as the best camera could get on a phone. So you see here on the iPhone 10, just a little punched up in the saturation portrait modes, going to have more portrait mode modes, Honda 10, but at the same time regular picture taking it's going to be fantastic on both if you are upgrading to a 10 I think this is a worthy upgrade from the 7 plus when it comes to camera. Just because, you get many more features, but you have to remember what kind of photo taker are you? Are you actually using the camera a lot if using the camera, a lot using it for your business, using it for whatever, and you just use it all the time you're going to like to upgrade to the 10, but if you're, just using your camera from time to time, or you just don't care about having the best camera phone? That's not your most used feature. This is not gonna, be the section you want to care too much about in this upgrade would be the camera because both of them are fantastic and they technically both have the same megapixel range. Now.

The front-facing camera is a little better on at the iPhone 10, because it gives you a portrait mode on the front, which is a new thing for iPhone, okay guys. So let's speak about battery life here so I, like I, said in my Galaxy S a comparison. Have you seen that the battery life on the iPhone 10 hasn't been showing to be as strong as the plus model? iPhones? That's probably due to the fact that has an OLED panel now, and it's running a larger display, the iPhone 7 plus a lot of people said this had bad battery life that I've, you know, talked to and seen in the forums. This phone for me has been pretty excellent on battery life. To be honest with you and I think at this current point, I think the iPhone 7 plus has better battery life.

In my experience so far, I will be testing the iPhone 10 further and giving you updates, but as it stands right now, I've been seeing better battery life on a 7 plus so coming from a 7 plus 2 when iPhone 8, you might be staying in a similar range may be slightly less battery life on an iPhone 10 versus at the iPhone 7 plus. So keep that in mind right there, when you are decided to upgrade between these two now we touched on audio just a little earlier. I do believe that the iPhone 10 has a little louder and better speakers than the one on the seven plus. So let me go over to one of my videos, and I'm going to open up my iPhone 10 unboxing, so you can see pretty loudspeakers there for the iPhone 10 now coming over here to the iPhone 7 plus. This is no slouch.

This also has some pretty loudspeakers. So let me go ahead and open up a video here on these devices or on the iPhone 7 plus. Let me go to the Nick Ackerman channel right here: I'm not signed in Nick Ackerman Channel, let's see if I click advocate, Nick advocate, let's go to Nick Ackerman Channel right here and see what happens here on this one so going into videos. You can see pretty loud, video as well on the 7 plus. So it's not going to be a huge update and audio department.

It's going to be a sidestep sort of, but a little better sound on the iPhone 10, so I think it's a slight update when it comes to the audio okay guys we have arrived at the conclusion of this video I'm gonna. Give you my take on the value proposition. Should you update? Is it worth it here to go to an iPhone 10 from a 7 plus and well? The short answer is yes, and the reason why is that you're going to the best and the newer iPhone design, the Apple is gonna, be going forward with and has an apple user? Why would you not want to be you know in that? You know arena of you know the future of iPhones, so I think if you're on a 7 plus this is a nice update for you because, you just get a bigger screen, a more compact body, and you get older with ENI or blacks than the 7 plus. Now, if you want to come from a value standpoint, and you want to save money, the 7 plus is going to be a fantastic bargain to get over this because you're going to get a very nice iOS experience with applications that are developed properly for the display. You do get very loudspeakers.

You get a dual camera setup all for under 700 bucks, so you're saving a huge amount of money to go to a 7 plus. However, this design is quite a few years old when it comes to just its overall look and feel get in the jet. Black does give it a little more Flair. So if you did get a jet black, or you know a product red, if you could find one of those that gives it a newer look and feel than the older iPhone, 6 and 6 plus. But yes, my conclusion.

Overall, you know it's its worth it: it's a worthy upgrade the iPhone 10 from the iPhone 7 plus now getting an iPhone, 8, 8, plus to an iPhone 10. That's another discussion for another day, we'll talk about that, but 7-series users. You know if you want to be on the future of iPhone. This is a nice update, but don't buy this phone if you're looking for performance updates, you're looking for a massively improved camera buy this phone. If you want to be on the future of iPhone and that's my conclusion here with the iPhone 7 plus versus the iPhone 10, and don't get me wrong, the 7 plus I could still recommend you buy this if you're, not even in the market for the iPhone 10 you're going to be a very happy user.

With this phone, it's fantastic from this video, helpful, enjoyable entertaining and forming. Do me a favor click that like button for me and if you're new here consider subscribing Nick here up and you to master your technology, be sure to be well. I will catch you all in the next one and pace you.
