iPhone X vs iPhone 7 Plus - CAMERA REVIEW!

Welcome to what's probably the world's most detailed camera comparison between the iPhone 10 in the iPhone 7 plus, so most of you getting an iPhone 10 will probably be upgrading from an iPhone 7 or earlier. So it would be fascinating to see how much of an improvement is given 1/10 over the iPhone 7 plus when it comes to the camera. So this video contains not five, not ten or not even twenty, but actually 25 different camera test scenarios, ranging from panorama shots to 4k video, recording stabilization nighttime shots with and without flash portrait mode test, slow-motion HDR and also tests covering the zoom module, which was vastly improved on the iPhone 10 by the way. So pretty much everything you need to know when it comes to a camera between the iPhone 10 and the iPhone 7 plus is covered in this video. Now all the shots that we're going to see in this video are taken on full auto mode, so I haven't adjusted a focus or the exposure manually and none of the shots have any color correction or any adjustments applied in post now. I've also exported all the videos and all the shots you're going to see in this video straight from the device at your original quality, so I'm going to use iCloud have used the old.

You know, USB method, so the original quality on all these shots that are going to see and also be sure to watch this video in the highest quality possible-- and especially in 60 frames per second, so click on that gear, icon and switch to 60 frames per second, because they have the only way you can tell the difference between the iPhone intends 4k 60 frames per second video versus the iPhone 7 plus is 4k 30, so grab some cr?pes and popcorn or milk or whatever you want to grab and enjoy the ultimate camera review between the iPhone 10 and the applause, Oh applause, okay, so starting off with the actual camera aspects. First, on the iPhone 10, we have a 12 megapixel camera F, 1.8 temperature on the main lens and F 2.4 on the zoom or the telephoto lens on the iPhone 7 plus we have 12 megapixels, F 1.8 on the main lens and F 2.8 on the telephoto lens. So essentially, what you should be able to see in this video is a better low-light performance on your intense zoom, lens camera or telephoto lens now. The front camera is essentially the same, so 7 megapixels on both we have exactly the same sensor and after point you aperture on bog f110 in the iPhone 7 plus a front-facing camera should be exactly the same. It should and then, when it comes to video again, the iPhone team can do 4k video at 60 frames per second versus 4k 30 on the iPhone 7 and 1080p 240 versus 720p 240.

So video should be significantly better on the iPhone 10 than on the iPhone.7 plus and low-light should also be better on the iPhone 10, because Apple has increased, has improved the sensor for an up to 83 percent, better low-light performance according to Apple. So, let's see, if that's actually the case, if those specs actually matter or not, okay, so starting off with some regular photo, is taken with a back facing camera. So in this one we have an image of a boat, and we have a lot of color and a lot of bright areas and dark areas in this image, and in this one gave 110 displayed the dynamic range so much better than the iPhones 1 plus. If you take a look at a sky, for example, the iPhone 7 plus has a lot of overexposed areas which we don't have on the iPhone 10 now in terms of the colors, both have pretty similar colored iPhone 10 is perhaps slightly more saturated in a 7 plus the 7 plus feels a bit faded. And finally, if you take a look at the detail, the iPhone 10 produces better edges, but the iPhone 7 plus actually over sharpened some areas.

Now, moving on to the second image in this one, the iPhone 7 plus doesn't look as good. If you take a look at the light and the shadows, they Font an actually has much better contrast. Now, if you think a look at a color, the color temperature seems to be a bit too warm on the iPhone 7 plus, but both have similar saturation. And finally, if you take a look at the sharpness and a detail, the iPhone 7 plus, is really noisy to the left of the image. The iPhone 10 shows better detail in the background and finally, moving on to the famous gazebo.

This is a perfect shot for an HDR for measuring SEO performance on both of these devices. Now, when it comes to the light, both did pretty well, so both are well it a font. Endemic range is much, much better than the iPhone 7 plus. Now, if you take a look at the color, the iPhone 7 plus is not as vibrant as the iPhone 10. So if you take a look at the vibrant shade of the blue on the roof now in terms of the detail, the underfur sharper and has less noise and gave content, the Leafs seem a bit darker with stronger color on the iPhone on the iPhone 10, now moving on to some macro shots, so these were taken with a back facing camera, not a zoom lens by the way, I have a different section for that.

So if you take a look at this first image liked, the iPhone 10 has a much better than a McCrae, so the leaves on the top are actually overexposed.20, ?, 7 plus now in terms of the color Devon 7 plus, has darker colors and less saturation, but it seems more true to life on the iPhone 7 plus D in the iPhone 10. Let me know the comments. What do you think about this and when it comes to the detail on to sharpen is gave on some plus shows greater detail in the dirt on the circle, but it's actually over sharpened in some areas, so we have actually greater depth of field on the iPhone 10? Moving on to the second a macro shot and this one, the light is pretty much the same on both so both are equally bright, perhaps a little brighter on the iPhone 7 plus. So it's not. The image is an overexposed or too dark, or neither of these phones, if you think, look at a color, the greens are actually brighter and more saturated on your own sin and both have a pretty warm temperature in terms of the sharpness.

Both are really sharp and show pretty good details. I think the iPhone 10 is a bit sharper than the iPhone 7 plus, but in the end, every reason now moving on to that zoom module, let's zoom lens. So let's take a look at this photo taken with the back facing camera, the zoom module. So in terms of the light it's actually brighter on the iPhone, 7 plus interesting enough, so we have brighter highlights and darker shadows on the iPhone 7 plus, fascinating, considering that we have a larger aperture on the iPhone 10. Now, if you take a look at the color is both are equally saturated.

I would say that the iPhone 10 is a bit slightly darker if you take a look at the sky and finally, if you take a look at the detail and to sharpen is David's, own plus actually shows a lot of noise in the sky, which is very strange for such a strong light source moving on to some low-light shots taken with the back facing camera. So in this first one in terms of the light, both images are pretty much as bright and a sharp as each other I should take. A look at a color of a phone 10 actually shows a much warmer tone, which is quite evidence on tiles in the bottom left until to sharpen us. The noise is really, really easy to spot on the iPhone 7 plus under the orange roof on the left of the frame. Now in the second image, the iPhone 7 is actually much darker and lacks all the brightness that we do get with the iPhone 10 color again, the iPhone 10 is warmer.

It's actually noticeable in the light source at the top, and when it comes to the sharpness, the noise is heavy. On the bottom and the right side, the right-hand side of the iPhone 7 plus image, but it's actually really, really clear on the iPhone 10. So again we can see the improvements that Apple did with a new sensor in the iPhone 7 now moving on to the third shot, and this one guy from 10 is brighter throughout the whole frame, if on some plus, isn't or exposed. Though, now, if you take a look at the color, the iPhone 10 shows brighter colors throughout the whole frame due to its increased exposure. But in terms of the sharpness neither photo.

Software is from badly noise, so the noise is actually pretty, pretty low on both. So I would say that this is a perfect shot on both, but the iPhone 10 is indeed brighter than the iPhone 7 now moving on to some shots, taking a low-light, but this time with a flash. So in this first one the flash is significantly brighter on the iPhone 7. Keep in mind that the iPhone 10 comes with the new slow think, it's low sync flash that we don't have money accounts on plus, essentially it syncs up with a shorter speed. So if you take a look at the iPhone 7, this one actually feels the frame with more light, but it does lack true-to-life colors that we do get with the iPhone 10.

So yes, the greens, on the leaves are, they do have a much more unnatural tone on the iPhone 7 plus than the iPhone 10. Now, in terms of the sharpness and the detail, the iPhone 7 actually shows more noise and lacks detail, especially if you take a look at the gray brickwork. So again we can see the improvements that Apple did with a sensor here as well now moving on to the second image I'm thinking with the flash and this one in terms of the light both are similarly lit. The iPhone 10 retains the shadows with the iPhone 7 plus, clearly digitally bright during the image. So we can see a lot of processing, much more processing going on the iPhone 7 plus in terms of the colors both have a pre tone down colors and yellowish on the iPhone on the iPhone 7, but in the end they're much more natural and balanced on the iPhone 10 again in terms of the noise and the detail, the noise is far worse on the iPhone 7.

So you can clearly see this on the past and in a background so sharply Cisco, you're lacking in quite a lot of areas on the iPhone 7. Now moving on to some video taken with a back facing camera, so keep in mind that the iPhone 10 shoots 4k, 60 video, where the iPhone, where, as Dave Phone 7 plus shoots 4k 30 videos. So in this one at the iPhone 10. If you take a look at the color, is a phone 10 is slightly more vibrant and more saturated than Yvonne 7 plus. It also shows a much better dynamic range throughout the sky and the shadows on the trees.

And now, if you take a look at this pen, you can see again the big difference between 60 frames per second and 30 frames per second on the iPhone on the iPhone 7 plus versus the iPhone 10. That comes with 6 frames per second. So this is the biggest difference and again, more vibrant colors and more saturated colors and greater dynamic range on the iPhone 10, the new iPhone 7 plus now moving on to some stabilization in 4k. So if you take a look at this clip again, 4k 60, actually on the iPhone 10 and 4k 30 on the iPhone 7 plus. So in this case the iPhone 10 stabilization is OK for 4k.

It's not it's not amazing, but, as you can see, there's a lot of jerkiness and a lot of random movement. A phone, the iPhone 7 plus, is actually a bit more shaky than the iPhone 10, but they both prefer, perform pretty similar moving onto some stabilization. But this time in 1080p supposedly support in digital image, stabilization in 1080p, which is not supported on either these phones in 4k, and in this case we can. Actually, we can actually see slightly more wobble on the iPhone 7 NEP stabilization is clearly better than 4k, but again this one compromises on resolution. Now, moving on to the autofocusing speeds that when it comes to the exposure adjustments, the iPhone 7 plus actually takes noticeably longer to adjust the exposure when compared to the iPhone 10.

If you take a look at the sky now, if you take a look at just the export, the autofocusing speed both find focus in a pretty similar manner, so we don't have laser autofocus on the iPhone 10 or anything fancy. It's pretty much the same on a focusing system on a phone, phone plus just one time is pretty much the same on both, but the exposure adjustment time is much quicker on the iPhone on earphones and now moving on to slow-motion, so the iPhone 10 can use slow motion. This is 1080p clip up to 240 frames per second. The iPhone 7 plus does 720p in alpha 240 frames per second, so 1080p vs.720p and when it comes to the sharpeners, both look really, really bad. I mean come on jeez.

This does look like 1080p. This looks like 720p only from tenon, maybe almost close to 720p on the iPhone Sun plus, so both videos look really, really bad. They don't look good color, wise they're, pretty similar lighting and smoothness and wise again they're pretty similar day phone if I'm done looks tiny bit better because it's the AP. But again this is probably 720p upscaled or maybe even 480p upscale, so yeah. It looks awful on both, but not as bad on the iPhone 10.

Now moving on to some low-light video taken with a back facing camera, so this one, the color is, are brighter on the iPhone 10 and there's overall much more noise throughout the whole frame on the iPhone 7. So again we can see the improvement and video quality in low light as well. So a lot of background noise on the iPhone 7. So the details are quite soft, which we don't see on the iPhone on the iPhone 10. But what about some video taking with the zoom lens or the telephoto lens? So, as you probably remember, Keith Long tin actually has optical image stabilization on the zoom lens and also a larger aperture f/2 point for France's after 0.8. So this one destabilization is clearly noticeable on the iPhone 10 versus day from 7 plus, which is really shaky, but are in that the image quality is actually pretty similar.

So the detail is pretty similar. We don't see anything major when it comes to glory performance on any of these phones. Now moving on to a zoom photo taking with the back facing camera again your low-light. So in this one in terms of the light, the iPhone 10 image is marginally a brighter around the light. If you take a look at that I'm just the color, we have darker and warmer shades on the iPhone 7, whereas the iPhone 10 is again slightly more saturated and also brighter than the iPhone 7 plus, and when it comes to the detail and the sharpness, the iPhone ten retains better details in the path and the grass textures.

The lamp itself is actually noisier on the iPhone 7. So again we can see the low-light improvements in this case with the zoom module now moving on to some zoom video taken with the back facing camera in low-light so and this one, the iPhone 10 actually has well some pretty bad in all ways, but it's even worse on the iPhone 7 plus a focus keeps readjusting and slipping any camera. Movement produces a lot of blurs due to the very low shutter speed, so we'll 38, these images are horrible, but a phone 10 is again more stabilized because we have optical image. Stabilization and the noise isn't as worse, because we also have a larger aperture, F 2 point 4 versus F 2.8, or in that about the same now, moving on to some regular shots taken with a front-facing camera so and this one, the lighting is pretty much the same. So we'll show pretty good brightness with no overexposure or dark shadows in terms of the color is we have Pinker tones on the iPhone 10 were compared to the more orange tones on the iPhone 7 plus, if on some plush actually produces more choose life colors in this case now, when it comes to a detail, both pick up the edges and details pretty well, both being equally sharp and crisp okay, this is a front-facing camera test between DI from 10 and the iPhone 7 plus.

So let me know which one do you think looks better. Essentially, we have almost the same camera module or sensor so same seven megapixels, two point F 2.4 aperture, but let me know if you think one of them looks better than the other and by the way this is the sound coming from the iPhone 10, and this is the sound quality coming from the iPhone 7 plus so which one sounds and which one looks better. Let me know in the comments now moving on to some low-light shots taken with the front-facing camera, so keep in mind that we have exactly the same sensor, exactly the same module on both and exactly the same specs. So in this one when it comes to the light, both did pretty well, so both are pretty well lit, but they both seem to have a lot of digital processing. Now, if you take a look at the color, it's actually slightly more saturated on the iPhone 10, but both produce some pretty good colors and when it comes to sharpness again, both images are really, really noisy, but the iPhone 7 actually shows a bit too greater detail in the hair and the clothes interesting now I'm, taking a look at some low-light shots taking on the front-facing camera, but this time with the front-facing flash and this one in terms of the lights it's actually brighter on the iPhone 7, but also a darker shadow.

The iPhone 10 seems to have much better than a Mac range in terms of the colors they're, pretty similar on both and finally terms of the detail and sharpness both produce a lot of noise. Let me know the comments which one do you think looks better okay. So this is a front-facing camera test of the iPhone 10 versus the iPhone 7 plus. So essentially they have almost the same camera module, so seven megapixels app 2.4 aperture, but yeah. Let me know if you think one of them is better than you outer and low light when it comes to front-facing.

Camera might think they're about the same, maybe they're from Sun plus a bit better, but maybe that's because of the display, because it's brighter the brightness is it's quite higher on the iPhone 7 plus right now. But let me know the comments which one do you think looks better. So, look at the noise, some kind of white balance so yeah now moving on to some portrait mode shots taken with a back facing camera so and this one the image is slightly brighter on the iPhone 10, but we get darker Gray's and Red's on the iPhone 7, but ignoring the clear error on the iPhone 10. The edges are managed pretty well by both phones. The iPhone 7 is going for a shallower depth of field, but a bit more blur the new iPhone 10.

Then, in the second image we have a darker and also higher contrast on the iPhone 7 image is actually brighter with an overall orangish pin on the iPhone 10, a phone 10 also produces a nice image overall with more natural tones, but in the end both images are handled pretty well. Both of these phones limited comments again, which one do you think looks better now. Moving on to some panorama, shots terms of delight both show a very good dynamic range. The iPhone 10 actually preserves much more blue in the sky. If you take a look at that in terms of the color Devlin, 10 shows much better saturation, especially if you take a look at the leaves on the Left iPhone 7 plus is somehow faded, but not completely dull.

Now, when it takes, when you take a look at the sharpness and the details, stitching is pretty good on both, but maybe it's a tiny bit better on the iPhone 7 plus, but again it's impressive that all the geese are intact on the left and finally, taking a look at the time-lapse recording. Now this one was a five minutes recording and both of these phones turned five minutes into 20 seconds of recording because you know they're both on iOS 7.1. Now, if you take a look at the actual detail on the sharpness, the edges are sharper and colors are much more vibrant on the iPhone 10. The iPhone 7 is a bit is a bit dull, and it also lacks a bit of a detail, but in the end, motion doesn't seem as smooth on the iPhone 7. It's still pretty similar I would say that it looks better on the iPhone 10, but in the end resolution wise still, this is 1080p.

Unfortunately, not many one 2k, not even to mention for case, so I am definitely waiting for a day in which we'll see a 4k time-lapse on the iPhone. Now when it comes to the actual nitrate on the iPhone 10, a 4k 60 frames per second video has a 112 megabits per second nitrate and iPhone 7 @ 4k 30 as 4748 and Singh goes with the iPhone 10 in 4k 30. So essentially, the nitrate is the same you're, basically doubling the nitrate when you're also doubling the right with the iPhone 10, if you record in 4k 60, okay. So in the end the main differences between these two are when it comes to video, since the phantom can be 4k, video in 60 frames per second and also slow motion, 10 DP 240. So that's that would be the main difference between it.

? the second one would be low light. The iPhone 10 has significantly better low-light performance with a branding sensor and, finally, the third improvement will be would be the vm / of dynamic range, so you get better colors and more vibrant colors. Now we also get a stabilized telephoto lens on a 110 which we don't get on the iPhone 7 plus or not even the iPhone 8 plus. So this is very, very useful for when you're taking video with the zoom lens, but are in that they're really, really similar in daytime and even low light. So the ultimate question: should you upgrade to the iPhone 10 just for the camera, I mean unless you're actually missing out on all the features that I've talked about before, not really because the iPhone 10 already comes with a pretty good camera, so pretty good camera, an even better camera.

I think this is enough for most people but hey. If you can, if you can upgrade to this, then why not pure describe if you want to see more ultimate camera comparisons like this one I've done one compare the s8, the iPhone tip versus the Samsung Galaxy S8, and one comparing the iPhone 10 versus the iPhone 8 plus by toe in case you're, curious to see those the link for it is an inscription and also have a serious focused on the performance, so ultimate speed test. If you want to see different, the difference in performance between gave from 10 and the iPhone 8, plus the Samsung Galaxy S8, or the iPhone 7 plus going for those, is an inscription as well. Also don't forget to enable duplications in my channel by tapping on a bell icon so that you notified whenever a brand new video comes out, and let me know comments what camera phone, what phone camera, what phone you actually use right now, what's your main camera, so they say! And what are you going to upgrade to from that camera very curious to see if any of you are actually using a DSLR camera and so on or point-and-shoot camera on a daily basis, but yeah? This is been pretty much. You feel really like I've enjoyed it too.

Let me know this was a pretty difficult video really difficult video to make. So every feedback is really appreciated and yeah. Think of watching I'm, Daniel I'll see you guys in my next one awkward ending once again. It's an effect.
