iPhone Smart battery case (2 year review)

As, our phones, age, their batteries get worse, and so the older, the phone is the more viable a battery case like option becomes that's why I want to do a review on the iPhone 10s smart battery case and how I'm using it with my iPhone, 10, okay, so first off I've had the iPhone 10 for about three years now and its battery life was never great. It was okay, but it was never great, and so after about a year in I, decided I needed to get a smart battery case, because I couldn't get the battery to last through a day and me personally, I hate it when my phone dies when I actually need it at some point throughout the day, so I was like okay. This is not acceptable. That I can't have my phone last me the whole day, so I picked up Apple's smart battery case, and I've used battery cases in the past, I went through three or four of mo fees and one of air power I think, and they were pretty good. But this time I wanted to go with the first party accessory from Apple, because mo fees had failed me quite a lot, and they make good products, and they always send me a new one, but I was tired of them failing, and then I had to go through the trouble of not having a case and getting a new one. Okay, so first impressions of the case were awesome.

It did exactly what it said it was going to do, and it gave me around 60 to 80 percent extra battery life, which is huge, that's enough to go from making it throughout the day to making it through all the day, so I loved it. This case feels great in the hand the silicone that it's coated with it makes it really drippy almost too drippy, because it wears off when it's in your pocket, as you can see from the pictures, but the added weight from the battery case, although it makes it a bit bulkier, it really makes the phone just sit in your hand, and you don't feel like you're going to drop it. Hardly ever so, I really like it. It's got a premium, feel it's a good case, and it worked great for a few months, and then it started to have these issues where it would say it wasn't charged, even though it had been charging and was charged, or it wouldn't charge. The phone even though, was saying it was charged, so it was kind of weird, so I took it in to Apple.

They ended up giving me a new one for free, which is great, and then I got the second one, and then it started to have those same issues a few months later, so I was like. Maybe the case is just flawed, and if you read online, it does not have good reviews. People have the same problem, I was having, and they just don't seem to be very reliable at all. It wasn't actually that the case was broken. You could turn the phone off and on again or sometimes just take the phone in and out of the case, and then it would start charging and act normal, but it was annoying to keep doing on a daily basis.

You'd have to take the phone in and out of the case, and then that would fix the problem, but then I noticed when the iPhone 11 that line of phones came out. All those problems seemed to go away, and I'm, not sure what that's about I don't have any definitive evidence anyway, but I haven't had any issues with the phone not charging when it's supposed to be charging. Since the iPhone 11 came out now that whatever software or firmware issues seem to be gone, I'm just going to review it as it is today, which is it, works great every time, I try and use it. So with that being said, it's awesome to have almost double your phone's battery life I, really like it. It's a great feature.

It's also awesome to not have to press any buttons. Furthermore, it's just always charging your phone's battery, while the battery of the case is full I like that to the ease of use, is it's as easy as you can get you don't even remember that you have a charging case. Furthermore, it just does what it has to do. So that's really nice. Now, let's get into some of the issues that I have that Apple actually intended there to be so the first one is I set my phone on my desk on a wireless charging pad every day.

That's pretty much how I charge my phone is through that wireless charging pad, and whenever you get a notification on your phone, your phone will light up great, but as soon as you pick your phone off the wireless charging pad, because it's charging it'll then take over the whole screen and display your battery indicator, and it does that, and it takes like maybe two seconds for the battery energy indicator to go away before you can even check your notification. That's really annoying because I. Do that 20 times a day or more! Probably so, then you have to wait for the battery notification to go away until you can check your actual notification that you wanted to look at your phone, for this would be super easy fix and software. They just have to say when it's on a wireless charging pad, and you lift it up. It just displays the thing in the banner it doesn't take over the whole phone screen and then there you go that fixes that problem and then my second big problem is actually probably more of a wish and, as you probably know, charging your phone over 80% isn't necessarily good for the battery.

If you do it long term. So what I want them to introduce is a feature where, when you're charging your phone in your battery case, and they're both at zero, it charges your phone all the way to 80%, and then it charges your battery case all the way to a hundred, and it leaves that last 20% of your phone's charged till the end and then as your phone depletes. It lets it deplete down to the battery it gets to 80%, and then it uses the smart battery case to leave your phone at 80 percent charge. So it's not going above 80 because, as it is right now, it leaves your phone battery at a hundred percent, which is fine, but it's just not good for the battery long term and I know that they have the software and the hardware to be able to do something like that. They just have to implement the feature, but I think that'd be huge because it would increase the longevity of your phone's battery life, which is what you actually care about anyway.

All that to say, I, really like the smart battery case, even though there are some things, I don't like about it and I would have no problem recommending this to anybody, especially if you have an older phone like an iPhone 10 like me, and the battery just isn't what it used to be. And then you get a battery case, and you get almost double. So let me know if you have any questions or comments in the comment section below, and thanks for watching.
