iPhone 8 Plus Unboxing & First Look

Hi everyone I'm Ricky from Tech Talk and today is a new iPhone unboxing. This is the iPhone 8 plus, so it comes in three different colors. This year comes in silver space gray, which we chose for, and gold all that blushed gold effect comes in two sizes as well: 64 gigabytes for 799 pounds and 256 gigabytes for 949 pounds. So we have gone for the Space Gray model, and it is a 64 gigabyte option this year, Apple has changed its packaging, so let me just bring in the 6s plus, which was from a couple of years ago, so she can see very bright, very vibrant. This is the jet black model of the 7 plus here. So, as you can see, they've lost that bright display.

They have chosen to show the back and the front at the same time, on the 8 plus turn around to the back, you have a tap pull off your packaging, so taking off the lid you're not met with the device, so we saw this last year. You have it designed by Apple in California, without information-packed, so inside here take our first one. You're going to find a little fingertip guide just to welcome you to your iPhone, laying out the key information that you may need to know. Furthermore, you then have your sim extraction tool, so you insert and remove your SIM cards. Furthermore, you then have warranty and regulatory information.

Then, finally, you have some Apple stickers, which we can add to the collection underneath that you will find your iPhone 8 plus, so we'll have a look at that in a little in your box. You'll also find your UK three-pin plug here. You'll then have some ear pods. These are not air pods, but they are the wild connection, but you do also have the connection on the back as again on the 8th class. We do not have any headphone jack and finally, at the bottom, you just have your lightning cable for syncing and charging your brand-new iPhone.

Now, let's unwrap our new iPhone 8 plus, and get to know a little more. It's going to be very hard to tell these two devices apart from the 8 plus and the 7 plus, because it's not massively much different, it's more inside. That is very different, and we're going to talk about that very soon. So, first, let's peel off this back in they're gonna. Look at that all new glass black display on this device.

Apple says it is the toughest glass possible one of the main differences for the new iPhone 8 plus is with glass on the back. It adds wireless charging thanks to QI charging devices. You then have a space grade, aluminum band around the edge here, that's designed in the color of your device, and it syncs through nicely I. Think the Space Gray model is very nicely done here. I know that people are liking, the brush gold as well.

So all the buttons are in the same place. So you've got your power button. Sleep/Wake button coming down to this side. You've got a little antenna bar there and then also you've got your volume rockers, and then you've got your vibrate switch there as well. Turning down to the bottom, you've got your lightning connection and come around to the front of our display is a 5.5 inch display, and that gives us a resolution of 1920 by 1080 P, 401, pixel density as well, so the same as the seven-plus compared to the chip inside the new, an 11 Bionic chip is very impressive and let's get into the setup and see how well it performs. Welcome you to your brand-new iPhone, inserting my SIM card there, and I can see the signal bars are up and running.

We have signal. You will need a SIM card to activate your iPhone, we're still using a touch ID for the iPhone, 8 and 8. Plus we get that face ID in the iPhone X. Next, it will ask us to select our language. We're going to hit English up here at the top, then is presumed.

We are in the United Kingdom, which we are. Then we are greeted with a new splash screen, Quick Start, so this will pass information from an older iPhone device to your brand new one. So, let's give it a try, so I need to do is bring my iPhone in a bit closer, so bringing in my iPhone closely here to the new Quick Start one. It has your Apple ID. So just be careful, and then you can hit continue there at the bottom, and it will start to transfer you the data.

You have then, like an Apple Watch display where you point your device at this, and then it will transfer information on your new iPhone or ask you to add a passcode that you have on this iPhone here now it's asking us to set up a touch ID now its bend. Our thumb slightly first thing I'm noticing here the vibrations seem to be a lot better in this device, compares it to the previous so hit continue. Then we have the option to set-ups. At the moment. We're going to set up as a new device is then going to ask us to log in with our Apple ID then have a list of terms and conditions.

Then we have our location services, so we're going to enable location so Apple Pay. We can set up later Siri. We can enable Syria and go actually set up Siri later an iPhone analytics, though you can send your information to your Apple XI, so wish to one big new added feature that I'm really impressed to see on the iPhone 8 plus is a true tone display. So you have the option here to see how it works. So it's very hard to show the light will change compared to your natural, daily lights.

We can press and hold this here, and you can see how difference is and don't thing the cameras going to pick it up. It's very hard to actually do, but you can use true tone display so make the new home button. You can change. Your clicks here feel what that one looks like. We can then use three four ones.

Two so I prefer three display zoom, so you can either your display zoomed in, so this is standard, and then this is zoomed, and then you can scroll through and see in a text message as well standard and then zoomed and welcome to iPhone get started, and then we are finished. We're set up and ready to use our brand new iPhone 8, plus it's sliding up. You can see we're in iOS, 11 already, and you've got that new control center. Here you have your new Notification Center, and we're going to have an in-depth look at iOS 11 on the brand new iPhone 8, plus the one little added bonus where the iPhone 8 plus, is that you get three different wallpapers compared to what you get on the iPhone 7 plus with iOS 11. So you get all the others that you normally have with iOS 11, but you get these three vivid new, colors and I think this is mainly for the iPhone X.

When this comes out, you can choose these. As you can see here, we've got two very vivid colors now this is what it looks like when you're on your home screen. So there's a lot of applications on my iPhone 7 plus I need to move over there's nice to see you get a little added benefits, but these will be able to download as well for your other iPhone devices, placing on two devices slide by slide. As you can see here, the seven plus came in with a 7.3 millimeter thickness. The new iPhone AIDS is actually 7.5. Millimeters thick there's a little thicker, and it weighs a little more, which you can tell so.

The new iPhone 8 weighs 200 grams compared to 888 grams on the iPhone 7 plus now we've unboxed our device and got it set up, and we can have a first look and first impressions, first, comparing the iPhone 7 plus and the eight plus, it's not much difference at all. So if you are interested in wireless charging, this is where this device will be better for you included in the iPhone 8 and then the iPhone X when it launches later on this year, you do have the ability for wireless charging. You remember when charging for a cable is always going to be quicker than there is a difference in the camera as well. Recording 4k can be done at 60 frames per second now, instead of 30 frames per second, then also, we have new 240 frames per second slow motion in 1080p when it comes down to power performance. This is where it changes with the iPhone 8 plus, with their new an 11 Bionic shit is impressive, and it's coming up to benchmark scores of a MacBook Pro like the one added benefit as well.

That we see on this device compared to other devices, is its true tone display I've got Amit using this on the iPad Pro 10 point: five inch Edition. It is nice to have, and I'm really forward to using it. You don't really recognize it, but if you use your device that doesn't have true tone display, you will know about it. So Apple has really changed the game with its power and performance with this device, including the new chip. This is the 11 Bionic chip, which is 64-bit architecture.

It has a neural engine, an embedded M 11 motion coprocessors as well. The one let down on this device, but Apple, very good at working with hardware and software combine to help battery life is the battery life is actually gone down compared to the 7 plus I think this is due to the wireless charging. So now, in this device, you've got two thousand six hundred and seventy-five minutes hour compared to two thousand nine hundred millionth hour on the iPhone 7 plus. So if you do have any questions or queries, please drop a comment down below. Let me know what you think of the new iPhone 8 plus.

Are you getting this? Are you getting the iPhone 8, or are you going to wait and that iPhone X me personally, it's not massive upgrade from moving from the seven plus two? Now the iPhone 8 plus wireless charging is maybe a good thing for me. Recording in 60 frames per second will be good. We're going to be testing this out at the NFL this weekend, so shortly, we'll also have the Apple TV 4k unboxing, and there will be a wireless charger, video coming up where we unbox a range of wireless chargers from multiple different companies or different powers, and we'll be testing this out on the brand-new iPhone eights Plus. Thanks always for watching, and I will see you in my next video bye for now.
