iPhone 8 Plus Review in late 2020. (Still worth buying?)

The top and plus series iPhone available, as of now is the iPhone 8 plus, which was launched way back in 2017, and the 8 plus was my primary phone for almost a year and when I did use it now in 2020, it's still surprisingly a good phone that actually takes almost every factor necessary for a really smooth user experience, and in that the first thing that's still staying solid with this phone is the build quality. It's still a solid phone, even though the back is glass which, if you drop, will surely shatter, but if that doesn't happen other than some scratches, the glass is going to stay fine in both the front and rear, but about the aluminum frame. It does get worn out a lot over time, but then about the camera glass it's staying clean. So that's a good thing too and same is the case with the buttons and mute slider and even the only port available, which is the lightning port. All of it is working without any issues, and here, as you might already know, there is no headphone jack and hence this port has to be used for both charging, and for connecting a wired phone. So overall, like I said, even after this long, the durability side of this phone is pretty perfect and, like always, apple, does design stuff with utmost precision, and that's seen here even after this long, and this kind of same stuff is noticeable with how this phone responds to usage.

This is still a fast and hiccup free phone. I mean I'm really surprised by the way the 11 bionic chip is performing and that's what makes an iPhone a great phone in terms of longevity. This phone still runs the latest OS, and it's in line to get the next major update and also by fax. The iPhone 8 plus will probably be supported for next three years, based on software updates, and even now like, I was saying normal, day-to-day tasks are smooth with no noticeable lags and even for intense stuff like gaming or editing, they also work great considering this is a three-year-old phone game. Loading time is not the fastest, but still it's not a slouch either, and once everything is loaded, there is no frame, drops or graphics issues and overall, based on the performance and usage I'll still rate this phone as a good one.

Then, when we check the display side, the display used here is an IPS LCD one, and it's a sufficiently big one measuring 5.5 inches, and the resolution is good because this is a full HD panel. Unlike the non-plus iPhone models, and also this display, even as of now, is a color accurate display with neat viewing angles, and also it does get sufficiently bright enough for easy outdoor use. But then by looks it surely has a dated touch because of this thick vessels and also because there are much better panels in other phones in this price range. So that's a letdown when we go for a comparison with other phones in this segment, but if we are actually not comparing this display with any other panels, then for sure this is a display with which you can enjoy contents and a couple of extra goodies that we get in this display. Is that it does have true tone, support and also 3d touch is present.

Well.3D touch is something that I really miss in presence in iPhones, and it was a good feature and by the way you might have noticed that the iPhone 8 plus has this classic home button with touch ID for fingerprint unlock, and it works great. This is a very fast and accurate fingerprint scanner, and since this button is not a physical one, but instead this being a glass section, the durability side of it is something you don't have to worry about, but since the vessels are big, one thing you need to keep in mind is that this is a big phone, even though the display is just 5.5 inches. But then it's not a very slippery phone. So that's something for a relief so till now things are not that bad, but then we have a major thing to check, which is very important nowadays and that's the cameras. The iPhone 8 plus has dual 12 megapixel camera on the rear, in which one is a wide angle, camera and the other is a telephoto camera and yeah.

This main sensor is still a very good one if there is sufficient light while clicking photos, but when the light gets dull, the photos we get is just decent. There is no light mode available and then shots in pitch dark is not possible and about the telephoto lens. It just works. Well, if there is good lighting available so overall about the photos captured with this main camera, it still does hold up to its mark, but it's not going to win any top spot in this segment, but that actually changes with the videos captured. This phone can record 4k video at 60, fps and about the video is captured.

I would still rate it as best, and even now, this phone is a great one, if you're really into video recording with your phone and about the front camera. Well, it's a 7, megapixel camera and, as of now I'll rate, a decent one while comparing it with its competitors. Selfies look sharp if there is good lighting and same is the case with the videos captured with the front camera. So, overall, this camera package can be considered as a great one for video recording and also a good one for clicking pictures, and that's all when we focus on the segment it falls into and the second thing the iPhone 8 plus falls into is a tricky subject. It's because, as of now, the official pricing of the 8 plus is in the 50 000 to 60 000 range, but at times you can get the plus for a better deal like in the 40 000 range.

But when this video was uploaded, the official pricing is 58 600 rupees for the 128 GB variant and for the 64 GB variant. It's 52, 990 rupees in Flipkart, India, and also, please note in the official apple page, the only variant that showcased is the 120 GB variant. Now this official pricing is very high, and this pricing is not something I'll suggest. You should buy the iPhone 8 plus, and that's not the pricing I'll consider for segmenting this phone. The pricing I'll focus on is only the offer price, which is in the 40 000 range, and that's the max price for which you should even consider this phone and every factor considered till now is rated based on the pricing that is in the 40 000 range, because if it's about that, then straight away, don't even check the iPhone 8 plus- and I'm saying this verdict even before the rest of the stuff is checked.

So please do note this price tag because we need it towards the end of the video and now, let's check back the factors left is just the battery and all the other minor stuff and in that about the battery. Well, the battery used is a moderately sized battery for 2d standards and about the battery backup. Well, even now, with a degraded battery the screen on time, I'm getting was approximately in the fire range, and it's not bad, because if this was a new battery with full battery health, it would have been much higher and hence this phone is a sure one-day phone for a heavy user and about charging well. This phone does support fast charging. As well as wireless charging, but for both you need to buy separate accessories, then about water resistance.

Well, there is ip67 rating and hence it's safe to an extent in that regard and about the Bluetooth version. Then it's Bluetooth, 5. And by the way, if you're wondering whether there is an issue regarding 3gb ram available well, since iOS is not a very ramble operating system, the user experience is totally fine with this available ram there about the sound output. Well, since the 8 plus has dual speaker setup, the sound coming from the main bottom speaker, and also the earpiece together, is loud and clear enough for enjoying videos or games and also about the earpiece. It's a pretty good one for calls too.

So after these remaining stuff also well, one thing which is very clear is that the iPhone 8 plus is still a solid option, because every spec and the way the phone functions is totally up-to-date. Standards, but maybe the main issue, to point out being the fact that the design is dated and also the official price tag being very high, but, like I said before, the price tag we are concentrating on the recent offer pricing, which makes the iPhone 8 plus a good comedy tour, and that's the only pricing I'll recommend as a maximum. You must pay for a brand new, iPhone, 8 plus and, if you're, getting the plus for anything below that, then that's great, and even if you can get a good condition second and iPhone 8 plus for a much lower price, it would be much better and also for everyone who's still using the iPhone 8 plus. There is no need to upgrade now. That's up for this.

Video guys hope you enjoyed it. If so, I like is much appreciated and the sub would be great, see you in the next one till then bye.
