A little while back, we reviewed the f17 here on safari tech. Today, let's check out the other iPhone, the iPhone 7 plus, but before we get to that. If the first time here are in case you just can't remember, my name is Ashe. This is safari tech, and you are watching my full review of the Apple iPhone 7 plus, let's get started, let's start with the building design. The iPhone 7 plus feels well-built and retains the same design with a few changes. For example, the antenna bands have been moved.
The 3.5 millimeter headphone jacks, con controversial, as that it is been discussed to that. So, let's not waste time on that. It is what it is. The physical home keys also gone. Instead, we've got a capacitive key here, just like the ones found on Android phones like the one plus three.
The difference here is the tactic engine. You get three levels of top tech feedback to choose from when you press the key. You kind of get the optic feedback kind of makes. Furthermore, you feel like pressing the HOME key physically I didn't have an issue with that got used to it, quick. It actually grew on me.
The only issues when my fingers were wet and the key being capacitive refused to recognize my touch. That's a bit of a bummer, given that the seven pluses water and dust resistant enough anyway, the Hippies also doubles as a second speaker, to provide for a great stereo audio experience. It's loud, and the quality is excellent, whether I'd have loved to see dual front-facing stereo speakers. This is still better than most of the smartphone speaking of limitations. The next change is the additional camera to the back.
Let's talk about that in a bit, so most of these are welcome refinements, but, given that this is not an s device, but an all new number I expected a little more from Apple. Because, honestly, this design feels dated, given that it's too similar to the success and the six before it, especially the bezels I, did let it slide with the iPhone 7, since it didn't really affect single-handed usage, but with the 7 plus I can't help feel the spawns larger than it needs to be. It lacks the Apple finesse to put things in perspective. We now have a brand, that's managed to cram a six point. Four inch display in roughly the same overall footprint of the seven plus, so I just keep feeling that Apple could have and probably should have made this form a little smaller while retaining the same display size the size and the metal back makes for one slippery phone.
I ended up picking a case for this guy during my week and a half of using it as my primary phone. This is a speaking case from slick wraps. Our sponsors for this video I leave a link to them in the description check them out if you'd want to pick one well what's on, the outside might not have changed much Apple's upped the ante on the inside apples using the all-new 8 infusion chips, and this is a quad-core chip for the first time, Apple's gone with a quad-core set up for the iPhone talking about firsts. This is also the first time Apple's con with three gigs of RAM. Anyway, the performance is fantastic.
The eight infusion kept things chugging along quite nicely, no matter what I threw added the iPhone 7 plus had few issues with day-to-day usage. Well, here's what I had to say about the software experience in my iPhone 7 review and with day-to-day usage iOS 10 on the iPhone 7 must not be inconsistent. The consistency is something I've really grown to appreciate. Absalom's uniformly quick and the memory management, despite just 2 gigs of RAM was great. These are experience, was simply fantastic.
I appreciate a lot of the attention to detail shown by Apple right from simple things like quick access to a flashlight from the control center to the wake on pickup. This is something we've seen with a lot of Android phones in the past, but I've never seen a better implementation. The detection was spot-on where it every single time, and it also put an end to the problem of fingerprint scanners. Getting too quick for us to see. What's on, the lock screen pick up check the lock screen for notifications and if you want place the finger on the scanner and unlock and the scan is real fast and accurate.3D touch has also been integrated more tightly with iOS, 10 and, and it went from being a novelty factor that are rarely used to being a feature that I found myself using occasionally still not a must-have for me, but definitely more useful from the last time. I used it while testing the success anyway as happy as I was with the iPhone 7.
Some of my regular issues with iOS, of course, resurfaced things like the inability to share a picture of Facebook pages from the gallery or having to jump back to the menu to switch resolutions or the inability to add a number rope to the keyboard are things that as a longtime, Android user, I found really annoying. But once I managed to look past, if I really did enjoy my time with the iPhone 7, except for the part where I mentioned two gigs of RAM. It's three here with the seven plus barring that my thoughts about the user experience on the 7 plus are exactly the same as my thoughts were about the user experience of the iPhone 7, barring the form factor. There are three other major differences between these phones number one, the display, just like the 7. The 7 plus retains the same resolution as its predecessor.
Here's a full HD display, spread over 5.5 inches, resulting in a pixel density of over 400 pixels per inch outside. We are I for one. Don't have issues with full HD displays as long as they're of good quality and that's something Apple's still going on. I found this display sharp enough. It has excellent brightness levels and viewing angles and reproduces accurate colors, Apple States, it's 25% brighter than its predecessor and displays a wider gamut of colors I was perfectly happy with that.
Despite constantly using phones with quad HD displays. The second difference is with the battery life, the iPhone 7 plus ports, a larger 2900 million power battery and the battery life. On this once again, splendid vii loss managed to last me, through a full day of moderate, to heavy usage on a single charge on each of the 10 days. I use this phone as my primary device, a little bummed out about the lack of quick charge, but overall the battery performance GI was great. The final difference is with the camera, or rather cameras the f1 7 plus sports ? 12 megapixel cameras.
One's got a wide-angle 28 millimeter lenses, just like the one found on the iPhone 7, the others got a 56 millimeter telephoto lens, so basically, Apple cations are providing you a kind of optical zoom experience with these two different lenses without actually needing for a lens to physically move. Additionally, Apple also provides a portrait option that makes my enhance depth of field or background blur, which is great for well portrait. Shot works for the most part, just like the iPhone 7. The 7 plus television images shot with this camera had a lot of detail. The colors were accurate on the dynamic range brilliant and a low-light.
The 7 plus still delivered some of the best images we've seen shot with a smartphone. Do note that under low light and with macro shots, the second camera doesn't turn on and the seven plus results to digital zoom when shot. Here's a card to a video explaining the same anyway. The seventh last can shoot 4k video and also has a dedicated, 1080p 60fps option. The video quality is excellent.
The footage is well detailed, sharp and smooth the frame rate stable to the selfie. Camera is up to sign megapixels nerve, and it managed to do quite a good job. Now, with that we get a price, and this year apples done away with a 16 gig variant and 32. Gigs is the base with 128 and 256 gig options available, and here are the prices. The prices are definitely steep, especially in a market like India, but Apple does hold an edge in regard to performance, and the camera is excellent to the build while dated is decent.
The water resistance and stereo speakers are definitely welcome. Apples also been always a step ahead in terms of after sales, software updates and service. So, if you're willing to drop the cash, then the 7 plus is definitely not going to disappoint, but if price the performance is what you seek, there are Android phones out there that can do 70 to 80 percent of what the seven-plus does and can do it at almost 1/3 of the price. So that's it for this review. Do you agree with what I've had to say here?
