iPhone 12 Vs Google Pixel 5! (Comparison) (Review) By Simple Alpaca

Welcome back everyone time to do another comparison, this time around between the newly released iPhone 12 and the somewhat older, I guess not even if pixel 5. , now I'm going to have a really hard time talking today, anytime, I do an android versus iOS comparison. I always have some weird little issues now. Both these phones are very, very interesting because, first, the iPhone 12, you know is costing 829. The pixel 5, I think, is costing 6.99 and maybe even cheaper in some other places, and google decided to take a little of a different approach with this device, which I kind of like now. First, pricing wise, like I said, if you want to pick either these up, links will be down in the description below you can get them from.

There help support the channel. At the same time now side by side, you should be able to see that the pixel 5 seems a little longer than the iPhone 12, and I don't really think it's that big of a difference. To be honest, actually, I think the iPhone 12 is a little longer now that I think about it. I was kind of holding it at a weird angle. It also feels a little, I think, thinner around the sides.

The pixel 5 definitely feels less heavy than the iPhone 12, and I could be totally wrong about both those things. Those are my first assumptions now with the pixel 5. You are getting that 6 inch OLED panel on the front, and I actually do like this panel a lot you know when I first opened it up when I first was messing with it. I was actually pretty surprised. You know it's a 1080p panel and technically the iPhone 12 has a higher resolution panel and more pixels per inch, which kind of makes sense, but I think the pixels 5 panels is perfect for the most part and really anything you're going to do with it is perfectly fine.

A huge asset of the pixel 5 is that you do have that 90 hertz, refresh rate, which is something that's really, really awesome. I've been messing with it a lot recently, and it has definitely held up in my opinion, and it's an perfect panel for sure and the iPhone 12 kind of has almost the same thing going for it too. I mean this one is a 6.1 inch panel, so a little bigger, but they both kind of look the same. Like I stated now, you do have that notch. You don't have a whole punch display like the pixel 5, but I still think for a lot of people out there.

This panel is really, really good. You know it's its a little higher than 1080p, so a little higher resolution than the pixel 5, but I think for the most part, when you look at both, I don't really think one is way better. I think to kind of like sum this one up I mean the iPhone 12 may look like it has a better display, but the pixel 5, with that 90hz refresh rate kind of makes this one a better display. In my opinion, pixel 5 has USB type c on the bottom, lightning port on the iPhone 12. In terms of the thickness between them, you will be able to see that the pixel 5, actually, I think, is thinner than the iPhone 12.

Again. These are very, very close. The pixel 5 has like kind of like an aluminum build, but it feels kind of you know. Cardboard. The iPhone 12 definitely feels like a lot more premium of a device for sure- and I don't know this wise- maybe the pixel 5 is a little thinner, but they're, both very close and on the back.

We have dual camera setups on both two which I'll get into in a second same aluminum, build on the iPhone on the pixel 5 with the fingerprint sensor. I want you to. I want you guys to count how many times I've called this. The iPhone something the iPhone 12 has that glass back and definitely the iPhone 12 feels more premium in the hand, but you're also spending more money on the iPhone 12. So you definitely have to keep that in mind.

You know this one costs about a hundred and something dollars more than the pixel 5 brand new, and these things are probably going to go down in value faster than the iPhone 12, which is something to keep in mind. Both of them have wireless charging, but the iPhone 12 does have that MagSafe capability, which is really cool and both have IP certification for the most part, but the IP certification on the iPhone 12 is better. So keep that in mind and in terms of the outside that really pretty much covers it up for the most part now in the software department. This is where things are a little different, because android here iOS here, if you like, iOS, get the iPhone 12. If you like, android get the know android device, but I would probably still say the iPhone 12 is going to outlast the pixel 5, but both these are going to be very close for android and iOS sake.

Of course, the iPhone 12 is probably going to last. I think a couple more years in the pixel 5. , but the pixel 5 still going to be lasting for a very long time. You know for multiple years it's going to have custom ROM support when those start coming out for this device. So when it comes down to both these are like the excellence and the best you can get from both pieces of software I'll, definitely say with the pixel 5 day, one update.

So it's really. These are like the iPhones of android. So you know these things getting day. One updates the same devices on all of them, which is really cool, iPhone 12, is going to be lasting for a very long time too. So let's go ahead and do a speed comparison between these devices.

The pixel 5 has that Qualcomm snapdragon 765 g chipset, with eight gigabytes of ram the iPhone 12, has that Apple A14 bionic chip with four gigabytes of ram. So let's go and see which one is the faster one between both of these okay. Now I think I already have all the apps cleared on the background, as you guys can see. So, let's start loading things up: let's do their designated app stores. Three two one and the pixel 5 was faster there for sure the iPhone 12 a little behind, but scrolling speeds is another big thing.

Look at the scrolling speed on the iPhone 12, how much faster it was. The pixel 5 was noticeably slower and a little more glitchy in a way, even with that 90 hertz refresh rate, the iPhone 12 looked a little smoother there. Now I have a bunch of these third-party apps that we can go and get into. Let's do Facebook, three two Twitter, three, two one I don't have Facebook, I don't think, and the iPhone 12 is faster. There pixel 5 a little.

You know slower and in terms of the animations you can kind of see they may be about the same there. Let's do Snapchat three two one both of them were pretty close. I don't think one was way better than the other one there. We can do something like fruit, ninja, three, two one, and I think on the pixel 5 it glitches up, and it doesn't open. So again, I don't know which one would have won there, but at least the iPhone 12 was able to open it.

Let's do stack three two one and a couple of different pop-ups on both. I don't really know which one I'll classify as a faster one there, but I'll. Let you guys kind of figure that out we can do. Thank you. Three two one and the pixel 5 was faster there too, getting into some gameplay, let's go and see which one is the faster one and smoothness-wise they both look.

Almost the same. I don't think there's a big difference between these at all. Let's go and do snake versus blocks three two one and the pixel five again was the faster one. I think the pixel 5 is doing way better than I thought you know this one doesn't even have the latest. You know snapdragon in terms of like the best one out.

The iPhone 12 did glitch up a little there, but the pixel 5 was the faster one. So that's a perfect thing. Netflix three two one pixel 5 is faster iPhone 12 a little behind it. Quizlet three two one uh iPhone 12 a little faster there. Just by a little, we do BFA three two one, and I don't know which one was faster for this one I'll go ahead and go back to you guys and ask you which one is faster, but they both look kind of the same.

There do temple run two three two one, and definitely I think the iPhone 12 is the faster one. Here you can see it open up, and you know load it up way faster than the pixel 5 and the pixel 5 is eventually going to get into it. So a little of difference there, I don't know which one you would classify. As you know, having you know the better gameplay in terms of performance and everything. I don't know why the iPhone 12 didn't load up there, but I did, I think the pixel 5 was definitely a little slower there.

We can go and end it off with the real racing. Three, three, two one and again this was just a quick comparison. I'll eventually do a full one. You know in a couple of days, maybe a couple of weeks and the pixel 5 was actually faster there, which is really cool the iPhone 12 a little behind, and I think in terms of gameplay and everything it's probably going to be about the same on both. I would assume I've played tons of games on both of them, and they seem pretty much.

The same phone calls three two one simple things like this: let's go and check uh and I think pretty much. You know we have a good idea. I don't really think one is faster than the other one. To be completely honest, I think they're both identically the same for the most part there were sometimes the iPhone 12 was faster. Sometimes the pixel 5 was faster, and I don't think I would necessarily go for one device.

In my opinion, I don't think I would go from one device to the other, just based off the performance. I think these two things are very, very similar. Ram management is looking to be about the same on both as well that one had closed on the iPhone on the pixel 5. So I don't know what was going on there and I think even loading up the apps, maybe a little faster on the iPhone 12, but they're still able to keep these apps in the background, which is what I'm looking for. So none of them have restarted yet, so I think to kind of sum up, this quick speed comparison, the iPhone 12 and the pixel 5 are more or less the same.

I think one isn't necessarily way faster or way slower than the other one. We did see that the pixel 5 did restart that app, and that was one thing I was looking for so or maybe that's just a security feature because, as you can see, it kind of still hides away, so I don't know what's going on there, but I think both these things are exactly the same for the most part, and I wouldn't go from one device to the other, just based off the performance. So terms of that that covers that, let's go ahead on the cameras pretty quickly. I stated before dual camera setups on both the iPhone 12 has a 12, megapixel, wide angle lens and then a 12 megapixel ultrawide sensor. The pixel 5 has a 12 meg, 0.2 megapixel wide-angle lens and a 16 megapixel ultrawide sensor, and when you're looking at the user interfaces of both, I think they both look pretty much the same. Here too, I don't think there's one.

That's like the best winner. The one has the best features, but definitely when it comes down to it. I think iOS has always had especially iPhones of that year have had better quality photos and pixels of that year recently, but I think the pixel 5 has more features built in because when you scroll all the way to the right, you have all these more options. That are a couple options here. You have, I think, more options overall on the pixel 5 than you do on the iPhone side, you can do 4k 60 on that back camera.

I think the front camera like many other phones, is where the pixel 5 faults. In you can only do 1080p at 30 frames per second on this front camera, or you can do 4k 60 on the iPhone 12 front camera. Now I think, year after year, google just gets it almost right. For the most part, I think, with a phone like the pixel 5 you're, probably going to be okay, you know you have that ultrawide sensor, which is something I really like having its doesn't seem like. It goes as far as out as the iPhone 12s, but I think, like I said before, the biggest fault of this specific phone would definitely come in the form of the front camera.

You can only do 1080p at this front camera, and it seems like pixel. They just can't get it right. You know the back. Camera has been perfect on most devices, but when you have you know things like iPhone, 12 being able to do 4k 60 on the front camera that really just doesn't make the pixel 5 look. You know that much better.

In my opinion, 12. I think overall, it's an perfect camera, and I'm not even just saying that I think probably the galaxy s20 has a better camera than this, but this is a very stable good camera. The UIs in glitchy doesn't have as many features as something like a pixel 5, but I think for the most part and for what a lot of people are going to be using their phone for the iPhone.12 is perfect, especially with that front facing camera. The 4k 60 is really awesome and if the pixel 5 had it, I think it would have been a little better, but I think the iPhone 12 definitely wins in terms of the front camera, but I'm going to be doing a full camera comparison between these two at some point, so make sure you guys subscribe. So you don't miss that, but in terms of that that pretty much covers it up now, ending it off with the battery life.

The pixel 5 has a 4080mah battery. The iPhone 12 has a 2815 million power battery and from my test that I've already done, I don't know if I'm going to post it before this one, but I pretty much saw that the pixel 5 has way better battery life than the iPhone 12. I don't know exactly what the percentage difference was, but I think it was probably like 30 different. This one was on like I, this one was they think like 12, this one was like 30 something percent, so maybe like a 20 difference, but I thought that the pixel 5 had overall, better battery life than the iPhone 12, and that was pretty surprising now to kind of sum up this video and to answer the question: should you pick up the pixel 5? Should you pick up the iPhone 12? What I can tell you is: is that really, if you like android, go for the know, pixel 5, if you like, iOS, go for iPhone 12 they're, both very, very similar in a lot of ways, and I don't think one is necessarily like the best winter between both I think when it comes down to it. The pixel 5 has a lot of you, know, characteristics and a lot of assets for sure you have a perfect camera setup on this device.

You have a perfect screen with the 90 hertz refresh rate, it's technically cheaper than a brand new iPhone 12, which is something else. That's really important to note. The build quality is something I'm not really a fan of. You know it doesn't really feel like a premium device with the iPhone 12 feels like a perfect device. You have USB-C, you have you know wireless charging, reverse charging, which is really cool, and I just don't think I mean I think it's a perfect phone.

If you can pick it up, I think in a couple of months from now, it's probably going to go down to like 500 bucks. If you can pick it up for that price, I think would be perfect, but I think the iPhone 12 has a lot more going for it. I think, in terms of just the overall phone and not trying to be biased at all, you have a better camera setup. You have, you know, I think, smoother performance, maybe not the better performance, but you have smoother performance from this device. Longer lasting support when it comes down to software updates.

IP certification is better. I think the pixel 5 another huge asset for it, though, is the battery life. The battery life on this device was better than the iPhone 12. So that's another big thing, but I think both these, like I stated before, are very similar in a lot of ways, and I don't think I would go from one device to the other, but I think for me personally. I would probably pick up an iPhone 12 because I, like iOS, but for a lot of people who, like the pixel, 5 and android the pixel 5, is a better way to go.
