Iphone 12 Pro Unboxing & My Honest Review

Which one is newer: what no way hey? What's up guys welcome to this episode of tech stuff today we have been the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro we're going to be doing an unboxing and some first impressions for you guys, and today I'm joined with my friend Matt. She runs a YouTube channel that focuses on smart home tech, so do check it out for yourself very special. Thank you to tech360 for lending us the iPhone 12 for this review and comparison with the iPhone 12 Pro all right. So without further ado, let's get into the unboxing that you have real unboxing, all right, so I just got it this morning and I wanted to be the first to be there. Were you the first? No, when I reached there or like 15 in front of me, okay number 16 in line all right, so thank you, Matt for the very gracious honor of unboxing, this okay cool. Oh there's, a little tab! Okay, you can see how long I have not unboxed an iPhone before there we go.

This is the 128gb graphite color. I think this actually will suit a lot of people, this sort of not really matte black, but somewhere a bit lighter at some angle. It looks a bit like aluminum black yeah. It has a bit of a shine to it, but the nice thing is that it's not favoring any one side of the gray. You know there are some grays that are a bit warmer or colder.

This is quite neutral. Actually, some angle is white, okay, so right out of the box. We all know this from the keynote speech. It's going to be a very much more rectangular body kind of throwback to the iPhone. Oh, I think it's four I have so yes, this is definitely a throwback to the iPhone 4, where you get a bit more metallic feeling less curves, all right, awesome, there's nothing like holding a new iPhone for the first time.

Okay, so very quickly, we have the same three cameras as the iPhone 11. So that's nothing spectacularly new, but I think there are some specs that have been improved in these cameras. Some of these strips are the antenna. If I'm not wrong inside the package, we have okay, we got the little pin for your sim card. A couple of I don't know warning manuals where's the sticker.

Where is the sticker? No apple sticker, no apple sticker? Oh, we got the apple sticker, all right, all right cool, that's the most important thing in this box all right and of course we have the USB charger. As you all know, the packaging this time does not come with the power adapter, so you have to go and get that yourself. Now. Apple has said that it is because they want to reduce the waste of throwing away all these charges. But if you think about it, most of us have the USB chargers, but we don't have the USB c one.

So we are still going to have to go out and get those. So I don't know, maybe they're saving cost all right. So there we go. We have the iPhone 12 Pro alright. So next up we also have the iPhone 12, which uh it's a slightly smaller model.

This was kindly lent to us by tech360. Uh, go check them out. They have a lot of other product reviews there um this one very similar actually, but this one comes in a few different colors all right. So this one comes in a blue two cameras only as opposed to the iPhone 12 Pro with the telephoto um camera. On top of it, yes- and I think it's the same inside the box right everything's, USB-C uh, we got all the warning labels as well and the stickers yep so for the iPhone 12.

We do see that at different angles. You will find that it's lighter in blue and at certain angles, darker blue. So there were a lot of comments online that the colors are not true to the website, but I feel that it depends on where you see when I'm outdoor the colors are closer to the ones on the website, but in a darker environment it does look like slightly darker than usual. So I think this is like the beauty of it that it's a bit darker and lighter. So in different environments, you just see like a different color, but of course the best thing to do is just to go down to the store and see it for yourself before you order, but if you're excited and just want to get it done, then why not just take a leap of faith and hope you like the blue, but I really like the graphite yeah and that's the reason why I got the 12 pro because I actually prefer matte stuff personally yeah, I would have gone for the graphite as well.

The blue doesn't really do it for me, a bit too shiny. Oh my god, look at the amount of shine on their other than that. I think we have a couple of new accessories. That apple has released um, mainly the mac safe charger that met shave actually bought. So this is the max safe charger, actually ordered and collected it yesterday, and I try it at the Apple Store.

So if you want to see me unbox the iPhone 12, you can check out my channel. So this is a magnetic charger. Do I have an USB here? We need an USB charger. Okay, wait! What no! This is USB, we messed up. No, so that's the issue I'm talking to you about.

This is an USB port, so you can't just plug it into that's another good point. Actually, if you have power, sockets like these, where it already has those USB chargers, you cannot use this, that's quite annoying, so you have to buy the mac safe, and you need an USB adapter to use this. Oh, my gosh, do you have one? I do my iMac? Okay, you want to bring the eye back up here. All right, we're going to bring up the iMac just so that we can charge this MagSafe charger all right there. You go all right.

So this is the new charger that apple has released the mac safe charger. It stays in place, which is pretty cool if you rotate it yeah. This is the part that I like, so that's the reason why I got it so imagine you're at night. You want to play with your phone and too lazy to get the charger to plug it in you know you just want it to be. Like then, this is for you, so that's the trouble of this thing.

You have to really aim and put it in, but you're just too tired at night um. I find that this thing, if you don't aim it properly it kind of scratched this area, which is something that you don't like. No more stabbing your phones so next time we also have some accessories that uh apple has released. These are this is not the magic charger right is it. This is the is the mic.

This is the max okay, okay, okay, it says mac safe over there. Sorry, I didn't see that I thought that would be a ring or something, but it's a ring. The ring is on the inside okay, so on the outside. It still looks like a normal case, so this case allows you to use the MagSafe charger through the case and still charge your phone all right. Oh, a nice army, green, so yeah, you can see the little ring on the inside.

That's to align the MagSafe charger to your phone. That's that's precarious, but there we go magnets. I think, when you put on the case, it can detect that the case is on right. Can you try that see? Oh, my gosh okay. So when you put on the MagSafe case, the phone actually detects what color it is, and it will have this little animation on the screen, which is pretty cool and, like I said you know, the whole MagSafe thing still works through the case as such, and there you go, you can charge it no problem through this case, and it even works with the new MagSafe wallet.

So you can still. It will detect that the wallet is attached to the phone, but unfortunately you cannot charge it through the wallet the case and to the phone very nice new line of accessories from apple with this whole mac, safe line coming out um next up, I think what everybody's always curious about the camera of these phones? That's why we upgrade that's, why we buy iPhones, it's the cameras, so obviously the iPhone 12 Pro is the one of the three cameras, the extra one being the telephoto lens and the cost difference between these two cameras are about two hundred dollars. So you have to, ask yourself: is that telephoto lens worth the extra 200 or is it something you can live without? Personally, I've been using more of the wide angle lens than the telephoto lens, so I don't know yeah. How do you use the telephoto like? I only take pictures of my kids, video portrait mode and time-lapse. That's it, but the only reason why I go for the 11 pro is not so much on the camera, but um more on the look and feel- and I just feel like you know the pro thing: yeah yeah, the probing the pro like.

Okay, honestly, honestly, if you ask me as someone who loves tech, you give me two cameras or three cameras. I will pay for that three cameras, even though I might not ever use it, but that's totally up to you guys, but they do have the difference on the lighter nightmare. Oh yes, that's also quite important to me, I mean that's a mother, I mean I have to shoot in all kinds of lighting. Sometimes it's just at night, and it's its actually a big difference. I feel oh yes, so when I was doing the comparison, I kind of put the phone like this and guess what happened? The camera scratched, the other camera.

So if you look closely there are some scratches here, I feel that you should invest in any type of screen protector which I've already pre-ordered it. So this came in just today, and I'm going to apply it with any scratches, because this is my set so first off we probably will take a look at. Let me see the 12 pro right um, so we also have the 11 pro with us: uh Matt's old phone, and so let's just compare what the differences are with these two phones. I have this thing on the jig. Let me get this contraption on that kind of works, all right, so we got the two cameras set up.

Let me show you guys some behind the scenes bridge, so currently we're filming at my place, there's a lot of tripods here, a lot of cables. This is actually a good um dynamic range test, because we've got a very bright table over here, but the background here is kind of dark. So, as matte moves around, you can kind of see how the camera reacts and how it shifts. Honestly, the two phones look very similar. I can't tell the difference, but in terms of image quality, all right, let me give it a try all right.

Actually we can do a stabilization test with this as well. All right, I don't know if this is a setting, but I can see the color temperature differences in both of these cameras. Um. The iPhone 11 is a bit cooler, whereas the iPhone 12 Pro is a bit warmer. I don't know if that's something that's to do with the camera, but physically, like just, just by looking at the screen.

I can't really tell a big difference um, but maybe we can tell more in photos so now, I'm going to take a portrait for Sean and I switch both aperture to 2.8 to be fair, all right off the bat. You can see that the 12 pro is a bit warmer, but maybe let's just zoom into the details. Okay, so um right at the eyeball. If you see the iris of, is this called the iris, the pupil yeah, the edge of the pupil you can see. This is a bit more defined than the uh, the old iPhone 11 Pro it's a bit more improved.

If you see the edges of the pupils all right, so next up we're going to test out the ultra white uh camera. This one has an ultra white right. Yes, all right! So that's not the ultra white for all three of these cameras, all right so for the outro y, there's, definitely a lot more noise reduction. If you take a look at the corner of my head, I think they actually even my face. Oh, that's true! Yeah! The lines are a lot sharper.

Okay, we're looking at cameras. Are you interested in Cameron which one is newer? What no way alright guys, so I hope you've enjoyed this short review and unboxing of the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12. , if you guys want to check it out for yourself, do head down to the iPhone store and see it for yourself. This is something you want to experience first hand, but if not like this video, if you like this subscribe, if you haven't, and I'll see you guys in the next one, oh yeah also special thanks to Matt for lending me your space, yes and the phone you.
