iPhone 11 Pro Max vs iPhone 7 Plus SPEED Test - This is UNREAL...

What's up guys, my name is Brennan, and today we're going to be running a fun little speed test between the 2016 iPhone, 7 plus and the brand new iPhone 11 Pro Max I've been paying close attention to my comment, section here on YouTube and also real-life situations, and it seems that a lot of people with the iPhone 7, particularly the iPhone 7 plus, are upgrading or at least planning on upgrading to the iPhone, 1111, Pro or 11 pro max sometime this year and said some of those people are going to be upgrading just for the speed alone. Obviously, there are a lot of other benefits like the additional camera and some exclusive features, but some people are gonna, be upgrading just for the speed alone. These speed improvements alone, so this speed test is going to show you what that difference actually is so in this test. Today, we're going to be doing boot up tests app launching tests, we're going to test out the RAM, we're gonna, be doing a web browsing test, Wi-Fi, speed test and more so, let's go ahead and lay out the specs for both of these devices. So the iPhone 7 plus here has apples, 810 fusion chips with 3 gigabytes of RAM and the iPhone 11 Pro max here has the 13 Bionic chip with 4 gigabytes of RAM, so a chip, that's three generations newer and one additional gigabyte of RAM. Let's see how big of a difference that actually makes so as I said, go ahead and turn both of these guys off, and then we're going to boot up at the same time here in a second I saw, both devices are completely off now we're going to press the power button at the same time, on both here in three two one pressing and holding on both at the same time.

Here, let's see which one gets the Apple logo first and the iPhone 7 plus gets the Apple logo first, as expected, these boot up tests are very, very random. It seems that a lot of times, the one that wins is the one you least expect to win. So we had a little flash there of the Apple logo on the iPhone 7 plus, let's see which one can pull out, and yes, the iPhone 7 plus, and we're still waiting on the 11pro max here. So a few seconds behind. That's actually very interesting here.

Look at that a big difference. The iPhone 7 plus just dominated that boot up test there I. So let's go back to the lock screen on both these devices, and you could tap to unlock here on the iPhone 11 Pro max. But you can't do that on the iPhone 7 here. That's a big inconvenience for me, but you do also have touch ID versus face ID now so face.

I'd is how you unlock on the 11pro max and, of course, you use touch ID to unlock here on the iPhone 7 plus. Now this, of course, is going to be personal preference, but face ID is definitely faster and more secure. So you are going to be able to get from the lock screen to the home screen faster and in a more secure manner on the iPhone 11 Pro Max compared to the 2016 iPhone 7 plus. So let's just go ahead and get into opening up some applications, so everything is closed out on both devices. No applications open, as you can see there, we're going to start off with the new Call of Duty mobile.

This is a very intensive game, so it's going to be interesting. Let's go in three two one press at the same time here, and I did just open these and update them before making this video, so they're on the exact same version everything's downloaded we're signed in on both and everything. So you can see there. It looks like pretty close, but it looks like the iPhone 11 Pro max is definitely in the lead here. We're still loading up.

You can see right there, loading on both devices here. So, let's see which one okay. So yes, there we go. iPhone 11 pro max still loading actually I went to that screen and then back to this. So here we go, looks like the iPhone 11 Pro max is definitely going to take this one gaming should be really improved here on the a13 Bionic chip, because that does improve the GPU.

It focuses more on the GPU than the CPU and you can see there definitely a big win for the iPhone 11 over the iPhone, 7 plus I'm still getting used to having a home button here on the iPhone. That's another big reason to get the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Just the gestures make everything feel so much faster than using a home button. Everything on the OS just feels smoother and faster than it did when you had a home button. So let's go ahead and open up another very intensive game here in pub G mobile and three two one, so it'll be interesting to see.

If the iPhone 7 plus you guys, can see it's pretty a pretty capable phone still I mean even a 20-19 going into 2020, it's a very capable phone. It's keeping up with the iPhone 11 Pro max. You can see he were about to get there. We go, and just like a few seconds behind, maybe like four seconds behind is the iPhone 7 plus you have a three-year difference and obviously the price difference between these two. That's not really a huge deal, so the iPhone 7 plus, is still a beast of a phone.

Let's go into subway surfers, and you can see here the iPhone 11 Pro max by just a few seconds. So there we go yeah I mean maybe one two seconds there, not a big difference at all. Let's go ahead and do good old asphalt, 9 pressed at the same time there. This one should definitely go to the iPhone 11 Pro max. It should definitely take away with this one with that new and improved 813 Bionic chips that focuses on loading up games and just a heavy focus on the GPU, but we'll see I mean the iPhone 7 plus is impressed me so far, especially with that boot up test.

You can see there yeah pretty good margin here that the iPhone 11 Pro max one, just as expected, the iPhone, 7 plus just falling way behind we're still waiting on the iPhone, 7, plus still waiting so yeah good at least ten seconds behind at least, is the iPhone 7 plus there when it comes to a game like asphalt 9. So now we're going to do a video exporting test here. So we have a three-minute 4k video loaded up on both devices, and we're going to export it in 4k to see which one is faster. So we're going to go to the share down here export project at the same time here and let's see which one can export this fool: three-minute, 4k, video, the fastest. Obviously the iPhone 11 Pro max should win this, but now the iPhone, 7 plus actually won there.

Wow. That is very surprising to me. I definitely did not expect the iPhone 7 plus to export a 4k video that fast. That was very impressive there from the iPhone 7 plus. Let's do it with a different video I said now we have a 33-second video, let's see which one can export this in 4k the fastest here in three two one and the iPhone 7 plus again beat the iPhone 11 Pro max at exporting a 4k video that is super impressive, I know.

I, say things are unexpected all the time, but that has to be one of the most unexpected things I've seen in a speed test. So far this year now, let's check out some photo editing in Photoshop Express. Let's export a 6k photo and add some effects, and things like that see which one can export that fastest. So we have this photo loaded up right here. This was taken with my GH 5 here in 6, K I said now we're just adding some effects to see which one is actually rendering faster or slower.

Here you can see the iPhone 7 plus is actually keeping up with the iPhone 11 Pro max here. So we're going to go ahead and try to do this right here see if that makes a difference at all, and you can see they're finished rendering on the iPhone 11 Pro Max and then the iPhone 7 plus actually isn't too far behind. It looks really weird with the color I added on top of it. So now let's go ahead and export these and see if one finishes before the other. You can see they're loaded up first here for sure on the iPhone, 11 Pro max first, and then we're going to change the quality to the 100% quality right there and like to go ahead and export this to our camera roll in three two one, and that was about the same, pretty even they're, very impressive once again from the iPhone 7 plus, with that a10 fusion chip from 2016 still pumping here in 2019 and sane.

So now, let's go ahead to some applications that you would use more frequently like Twitter and three two one load it up on the same account dark mode and everything and the eleven. Barely though barely the eleven one there over the seven. Let's go ahead into us through Instagram press. At the same time, once again in the iPhone 7 note, the iPhone 11 Pro max just barely loaded up stuff. First, we did see content on the iPhone 7 plus, first though, which is also pretty impressive.

Let's go ahead and to Reddit, and it looks like the 11pro max, but just barely, let's go ahead into Amazon and once again the iPhone 11 Pro max by a couple seconds. There I thought it's going to be a little closer, but it wasn't. Let's go ahead into YouTube and that's going to be first on these seven plus very impressive: let's go ahead into the App Store and the App Store is going to load up first on the seven plus as well. So this is super interesting crazy, really, let's go ahead into weather and the weather that looked about, even maybe the seven plus one that one as well and let me go back into Twitter, real quick and let's do a little share sheet test. You guys know I like to always do the share sheet test here on all these devices, so we're going to go to about Twitter we're going to go to this tweet right here.

We're going to pull up the share sheet on both to see which one's faster and three two one, and I look like the seven plus I did have more content to load up there like the airdrop people, and things like that on my 11 pro max, but still I pulled it up fast there on these seven plus I. So let's go ahead and do a web browsing test, real, quick and then after this we're going to test out the RAM. So let's go ahead to TechCrunch and three two one and definitely win there for the iPhone 11 Pro Max by a good margin over the seven plus. Let's go ahead to Apple calm and three, two one and once again the 11pro max, but not buy too much there and let's go to ESPN and three two one and look like these seven plus one they're over the iPhone 11 Pro max very interesting. Now, let's briefly just go back and test out the RAM, let's see anything has to relaunch I assume Call of Duty will have to relaunch on both devices, but we'll see yes, a full relaunched for Call of Duty on both devices there.

Let's go ahead to subway surfer, doesn't matter if we open at the same time, so yes, no relaunch for either one there either. Let's go to Photoshop, Express and yep same deal. It came back right where we left off Pub G no relaunch for either one there wow the iPhone 7, plus very impressive, with that one, less gigabyte still keeping up here not having to relaunch these applications asphalt 9 does usually have to do a full relaunch as well or a small relaunch. I should say not a full one, and it does that for both there as well. Just a small relaunch before we test out the RAM on these social media applications, because I know that both going to be open.

Let's go ahead and run a Geek bench 5 test on both devices just to see how much higher the scores are on the 11pro. Max first is the 7 plus here: let's just do the CPU right here: you're going to run at the same time, and I'll be back once I finish seeing who finishes the test first and also how much higher the scores are on the 11 here compared to these 7 plus. So the iPhone 11 Pro max did finish a good bit before the iPhone 7 plus. Here you can see, we got a 13 32 on the single core and a 34 88 on the multi-core and of course we are running iOS 13 point 2 beta on both devices. Just so it's a fair test, and then you can see there.

We got a seven eighty, eight and a 1401, so a massive difference in Geek bench scores here you can see both are on thirteen point two there, but I mean real-world usage shows differently, I mean if you just saw these scores. You would think that the iPhone 11 Pro max just blew the iPhone 7 plus out of the water with everything. But that's just not the case. So that's why I don't really like to run Geek bench test too much, because they don't really show real-world. You know situations in real world results like I'm, showing you in this test I.

So now, let's go back to these social media applications and see if we have to relaunch any of them. So let's just go ahead and do Twitter so Twitter we are staying on the same spot there. Let's go ahead to YouTube oops open up the wrong one. There we go so let's just go and do Amazon now, since I just did that and no relaunch there either. Let's go to Instagram same deal, no relaunch on either one there and then to Safari, and we actually had to relaunch ESPN here on they'll up.

We had to do it on both. Actually so we had to relaunch both the web pages here inside of Safari, and now we're just going to run a quick speed test, so we're on the same Wi-Fi network for we're gonna, see which one can actually get faster speeds d, I thought 11pro max because of the hardware upgrades. We should see faster, Wi-Fi performance here on the 11pro max, but we will see, so we got a 135 on the download over here. We're going to get about a 100 upload over here on the iPhone 7 plus. So it's going down a little, so it's looking like it's going to be actually 60 high 50s there on the upload.

So yes 58.8 and 135 point 3 on the download. So let's go ahead and run these speed tests here on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. We should get better speeds, but this test has been super unpredictable so far, and it looks like that trend is going to continue. So look at that about half the upload speed there or the download speed. I should say there on the iPhone 11 Pro Max the uploads, probably going to be about the same, so that's even going to be slightly lower than the iPhone 7 plus here connected to the same network.

Once again, you can see there. We had higher latency on the 11pro max as well. We did connect to the same server, but speed test goes to the iPhone 7 plus, and because of that, I would say that the iPhone 7 plus actually won this speed test overall I mean the iPhone 11 Pro max, definitely dominated when it came to games but social media applications. There wasn't really a difference. Video exporting went to the iPhone 7 plus pretty much.

Everything else went to the iPhone 7, plus the boot up test and everything. So this is super impressive. If you guys watched my video I made, you know, while back where I said the iPhone 7 plus, is the best phone to buy in 2019. This video test should show you a just another reason why that could still be the case. I mean obviously speed.

Isn't everything there's a lot of benefits to updating to the iPhone 11 Pro max and obviously in real world usage is probably going to be a little faster. Just when you do typical things like locking it and unlocking it and going to certain applications. I know these tests they'll really emulate exactly what happens in real world usage, but still I mean the iPhone 7 plus is a beast of a phone. So if you have this phone, and you're looking to upgrade just for speed and nothing else alone, I wouldn't do it. I would at least wait until 2020 to see what that iPhone brings to the table.

Now. Obviously, on the flip side of that there are a ton of benefits to upgrading to the iPhone 11 Pro max I. Think a lot of people should do it again. It's not just for speed. It's for the cameras, the exclusive features the OLED screen, the know, black of the bezels.

You don't have the home button anymore, yet face ID, so many great features on the 11pro max that make it far superior to the 7 plus, but we'll touch on that more in my full review of the iPhone 11 Pro Max and if you should upgrade from the iPhone 7 plus so yeah guys. That is the speed test here between the iPhone 7 plus from 2016 and the 2019 iPhone 11 Pro max. Let me know what you guys thought about this down in the comments section below whom do you think won overall, do you have a 7 plus? Are you upgrading? Let me know all your thoughts down there and the comments below you guys know. I love responding to you down there. If you guys did enjoy the speed test, I would appreciate it if you gave it a thumbs up also make sure to subscribe.

So you don't miss next year, speed test between the iPhone, 7 plus and presumably the iPhone 12 and, of course, I will have a lot of other content in between as well, but anyways guys, thanks again for watching the video, and I'll see you soon.
