iPad Mini (2021) Redesign Leaked - It's EVERYTHING I WANTED!

Hey, what's going on everyone Greg here and didn't? I just spend like 1800 on the new m1 iPad Pro well like every year a new product comes out, and a new one is being worked on that will soon replace it. This time it's the iPad Pro's turn which just got a pretty big upgrade this year with the addition of a new m1 chip and the new mini LED display technology on the 12.9 inch model. However, we are now hearing about a new redesign for the iPad Pro coming out from mark German from Bloomberg. We talk a lot about him on this channel, so I might as well just hand over the silver play button to mark at this point, but anyway he does have a lot of details on what we can expect out of the next generation redesign of an iPad Pro with a glass back and some news on a redesigned, iPad Mini and slim down iPad that could be announced by the end of this year. So let's talk about all of that in today's video and come on hit that subscribe button for even more Apple news like this, because um uh, I don't know you probably got nothing better to do hey, don't you dare click off this video and watch the lemon man stick to Greg's gadgets? Alright, so, like I mentioned, this is a pretty big report from German in which he basically details apple's next plans for most of their iPad lineup, starting with the iPad Pro German says that this product will be receiving a redesign with apple internally testing designs that could have a glass back, so you know when you drop it, it shatters into a million pieces and you have to bring it to old TC to get it repaired. No seriously.

This glass pack is being explored to enable a new feature for the iPad Pro wireless charging. German also says that apple is developing and testing a similar MagSafe charging system for the iPad. Pro, like you would find on the iPhone 12 and on top of that apple, is also working on reverse wireless charging for this iPad Pro, so you can place devices like your iPhone air, pods Apple Watch and just charge them directly on the back of the iPad. Now this report basically focuses on this one design, change, and it's an interesting one that I think does make sense for apple's long-term product roadmap. It might seem strange at first to put a glass back on such a large device like an iPad, but apple's long-term vision for a lot of their products is to continue its efforts to incorporate more wireless technologies.

Wireless charging for the iPad Pro may not seem like that big of a deal and the sheer size of the device like a 12.9-inch iPad Pro it might make it feel downright impractical, but Apple is also rumored to be working on even more advanced versions of wireless charging. That can happen truly wirelessly, and you could charge devices through basically the airwaves now, even if these incredibly advanced technologies aren't happening anytime soon, Apple could just be readying. The design to take place uh for things like inductive wireless charging, which we already have and like the reports indicate apple, wants to add reverse wireless charging specifically onto this iPad. Pro model. Reverse wireless charging makes a lot of sense on an iPad where the battery capacity is much bigger than your iPhone.

And if you look at the current iPad Pro from the back, it basically looks like a giant tray table that you could lay all of your devices on top of, and that could actually be a nice feature when you're traveling, you just bring your iPad, and then you know your iPhone your Apple Watch, and then you only bring one charging cable for the iPad, and then you can wirelessly charge the rest of your devices on the back. As for the design of the glass back, I think it would look very similar to the pro model iPhones, where it has more of a matte finish. That also means we could see matching color options to go alongside those iPads, so we could see a white black and gold backed iPad Pro, as well as maybe some exclusive colors. That apple could change on a yearly basis like they do with the iPhone models uh, something like the pacific, blue color. Now the majority of this report focuses on the glass design, but obviously with the next version of the iPad Pro, you would now expect that apple would be putting the next version of their m1 processor into this device.

So this iPad Pro will naturally come with a m2 chip, which is also reportedly coming to a redesigned version of the MacBook Air. As for when we can expect this iPad Pro mark German says that apple is getting ready to release this iPad Pro for next year in 2022, but plans could always change, as I'm sure most of the people watching this channel know by now, apple where is the m1x MacBook. I mean you put it in the tags of your YouTube, video. You knew it you, you knew, you knew. Aren't we talking about iPads uh now, the more interesting part of this report to me is the updated reporting on the iPad Mini? I've reported about the redesign of the iPad Mini on this channel before and when I last updated you, we were hearing multiple reports that the iPad Mini was going to be announced sometime in March and feature a very similar design, which was really disappointing to me, because if Apple was going to make a new iPad Mini, I wanted it to basically be an iPad Pro with the same design as the current iPad, air and iPad Pro.

While in this report, German says that apple is indeed working on a new iPad Mini and that the iPad Mini would have more narrow screen borders and the removal of the home button is also being tested so more narrow, screen borders and no home button. This sounds exactly like the design I would want with this redesigned iPad Mini, because this means that apple could increase the screen size of the iPad Mini, while still keeping the small form factor and the last time we heard about rumors of an iPad Mini from mingxiquo. He said the mini would have a screen size from anywhere from 8.5 to 9 inches, while the current iPad Mini has a 7.9 inch display size, of course, because it is a new design. We should also expect support for things like the second generation Apple Pencil and if they are doing the new design, maybe the addition of an USB-C port- and I would assume, instead of face ID, we would get touch I'd built into the home button just like it is now on the current iPad Air. In fact, I would basically expect this iPad Mini to just be a smaller version of the iPad Air at this point, and it would probably ship in the same storage configurations and with the same a14 chip.

So that's pretty powerful and finally, German says that apple is also working on a new entry-level iPad. This iPad would be thinner and geared more towards students with its much lower price point. If I had to guess, I think it's pretty safe to bet that this low-cost iPad will use the same design as the 10.5-inch iPad, air 3. , so nothing too exciting here, and I'm sure it will still continue to use the original iPad Pro accessory. So the original origami smart keyboard and the first generation Apple Pencil.

As for the chip, the current iPad has an a12 chip, so it seems pretty safe to assume that it will either stay with that a12 chip or Apple will upgrade it to the a13 processor, like the iPhone SC has the 10.2 inch. iPad is a great value, and this rumored newer iPad sounds like it will continue to build on that great value and I assume apple will keep the 329 price point if it's being targeted towards students- and just you know, consumers who are more concerned about value as for when we can expect the iPad Mini and the new thinner iPad German says that apple plans to release these before the end of this year. So we could see them at the earliest, I'm guessing at apple September event, where they usually announce the new iPhones, alright, everyone and so far. That's all. We know about the next-gen iPad, pro new iPad Mini and a new regular iPad.

Please let me know in the comments below what do you think about the idea of a glass-backed iPad Pro. Do you think that we will get a redesign of the iPad Mini and which iPad are you personally most excited for, or are you just like me and spent an outrageous amount of money on the m1 iPad Pro, and you're only looking forward to iPadOS 15 being released in the fall? As always, if you liked the video be sure to give me a like, if you want to see more from the channel, make sure you're subscribed.
