iPad Air 4 vs iPad Pro 2020 | Which is Better For Students?

Hello YouTube family. We have finally done it. We were able to hit another benchmark, 200 subscribers, so I haven't said this yet in any of my videos, but thank you so much. You guys mean so much to me if I haven't met you yet, if you're someone that I just I don't know dm me on Instagram, this is my Instagram boom. So again I would love to meet you I'd love to get to know you. I love interacting with subscribers.

Moving on to the content of this video, so I've been an iPad Pro user for the past three years. I've literally used it for everything I went paperless. That was the first big plus in college uh. It worked well with school with canvas. I also edit all of my videos primarily on here.

I also use it to consume content. Furthermore, I watch a lot of YouTube. Furthermore, I do watch TikTok now, if you don't follow me on tick, took go ahead. We just hit 13 000 followers. So and honestly, if you're a student, I totally recommend getting an iPad, whether that's the iPad Pro one of the older iPads or the new iPad Air 4, which we're going to be talking about in this video.

I recommend getting one. It makes life a lot easier. So, let's get into the juicy part of this video. So as many of you guys already do know, the iPad Air 4 was just announced on September, 15th, you've probably seen a video or two already about the specs. So I'm going to give a quick overview of some major changes.

Along with the refresh. We have a new starting price of 599 for the 64 gigabyte model without LTE, there's also a 7, megapixel front camera and a 12 megapixel rear camera, and then another addition is the a14 bionic chip that is supposed to be 30, faster apple, doesn't like to specify at all what it's supposed to be 30 faster than, so I'm assuming that that's the last generation of the iPad Air, but the way that they phrased it. They almost tried to make. It seems like it's faster than the iPad Pro because a12z, and then you have a14 chip. You would expect the a14 to be faster, but upon a little more digging, I found that the a14 chip is a six core processor, whereas the a12z is an 8 core processor.

So, theoretically, the a12z should still be faster. So just keep that in mind. Another new feature that they added is a fingerprint scanner on the on and off switch. They also upgraded to a 10.9 inch. Liquid retina display, which is just gonna, be better.

Its bezels are gonna, be much smaller. It's screen to screen now it literally looks exactly like the iPad Pro there's. Also, the ability to now use the Apple Pencil and the smart folio keyboard. There's also now an USB port on the iPad Air four, and then I guess the most gimmicky part of it all is that there are five new colors personally, I think that the colors are really cool. I've seen a couple of videos, and it looks like they're not too bright.

They're, not gonna, stand out in your face kind of like the old iPhone 5c. If you guys, remember those colors, it's going to keep a little more of that metallic color as well. So now that we've talked about the new specs for the iPad Air 4, I thought we'd kind of go in and discuss the differences between the iPad Pro 2020 model and the iPad Air 4. I already mentioned the fact that the a14 bionic chip is a six core processor, whereas the iPad Pro 2020 model has the a12z, which is an eight core processor. So when it comes to graphics, it should be faster.

So I would say, if you're doing anything along the lines of like video, editing, animation or intensive art, I would probably go with the iPad Pro other than that. As you can see on paper, it seems that a lot of the technology is pretty similar, except for the fact that the iPad Air has a slightly lower max brightness and a slightly lower resolution. Now. Another big difference between the two models is that the iPad Air 4 does not have the pro motion technology. If you're wondering what the pro motion technology is, it's basically a higher refresh rate on the iPad Pro screens that would basically reduce latency with the Apple Pencil that would help out a lot with video, editing and art and animation again, but to the average person who just wants to use the iPad for notes and media consumption.

This shouldn't be that big of a difference, the last and arguably most important factor for many students is going to be the price differences. As you can see here with the price breakdown, things start to get a little fuzzy, there's only two storage options for the iPad, air, 4. , 64, gigabytes and 256 gigabytes. Obviously, with the iPad Pro, you have all the way from 128 gigabytes up to one terabyte of storage. Personally, I would not recommend getting the 64 gigabyte version of the iPad Air 4 as that's not a ton of storage.

If you're going to be putting pictures on here, if you're doing notes and just over time, it'll last longer, if you have more storage, so the next option up on the iPad Air 4 would be the 256 gigabyte model which starts at 749. Now, if you look over at the iPad Pro, the starting price is 799 dollars for 128 gigabytes, a storage option, that's conveniently not available on the Apple iPad 4. Now, if I want to be honest, 128 gigabytes should be totally fine for the average user. I don't think that you need 256 gigabytes again unless you're using it for more intensive purposes. That's only a 50 difference between the 128 gigabyte version of the iPad Pro and the 256 gigabyte version of the iPad Air 4.

Again, it seems, like apple- was trying to blur the lines between the two devices. If you were to ask me, I personally would say that the iPad Pro 2020 model, 128 gigabytes, would be a much better deal than the iPad Air 4 at 256 gigabytes because you get the a12z bionic chip and the pro motion technology in the iPad. Pro, however, it all really depends on you, I mean you could totally go for the iPad Air 64 gigabyte versions, if you're simply just going to be doing notes and a couple small tasks with the iPad. If you have a MacBook, and you're using this as a secondary device, okay, so final thoughts, I think that having an iPad is amazing for any student going into college. It helped me so much stay organized.

It helped me go paperless, and it's helped me with a lot of other tasks that I didn't even think that I needed. I also have a MacBook. I probably use this device three or four times more than I use my laptop. Furthermore, I do think that it is a worthwhile investment for a lot of students. Furthermore, I hope this video was of some value to you.

Furthermore, I hope that it was useful, if not at least entertaining. Thank you guys so much for watching, go ahead and like and subscribe go down in the comment section and let me know which iPad you would rather go with, and I'll see you next time. You.
