iPad air 4 vs iPad pro 2020 - Don't Choose WRONG!

This video is brought to you by paperlike, an accessory for all iPads that makes drawing and writing the Apple Pencil feel like actual paper. What you're looking at is the almost 11-inch iPad Pro also known as the latest iPad Air, which, if in the same color, can be easily confused with the current generation 11-inch iPad Pro and maybe even more with the old generation 2018 model, given the single camera on the back. This is the latest tablet that apple has to offer in the more competitive segment and with it the company sort of cannibalizes, the all-time favorite 11-inch pro model, or so many of us think now, if I was asked which tablet I would recommend 9 times out of 10, it would be the iPad Air 4 and not the pro. But am I right? When does the 11-inch pro model make sense, given the new kid on the block? Let's find out hey guys, this is e and if you're new to the channel welcome, my name is skin and most people call me e, and this iPad Air 4 is amazing, yet a bit confusing, knowing that the 11 iPad Pro is lurking around the corner. So let's clear the picture a bit and then firmly state which is which, and why utilizing the purchasing guide that I had prepared. The iPad Air 4 uses the same body and design cues as the 11 iPad Pro.

Yet it comes 200 dollars cheaper in its entry level, starting at 5.99 for a 64 gigabyte entry model, it can still be used with the magic keyboard or most other 11 inch pro model accessories and supports the second generation pencil where's, the butt in all this, the butt hides in the following setbacks. For starters, the display is 0.1 inch smaller than the 11-inch model coming to you at 10.9 inches. I admit this is not a decision maker by itself. In fact to distinguish both. You have to put them side by side and really focus on the task of pointing at the thicker bezels.

What can be a dealbreaker on paper, however, is the fact that the air 4 can be equipped with a maximum of 256 gigabyte storage capacity. Yes, I was surprised as you are. If you want to go higher like 512 gigabytes or even one terabyte, you are stepping into the pro world. No questions asked also the air comes with a single 12, megapixel, f, 1.8, main camera, no ultra white or LIDAR sensor on the front. Since the air is not FaceTime equipped, you can expect standard face time, HD, camera, no true depth, no portrait mode or lighting and, of course, no animal or emoji.

The air also peaks at 500 nits max brightness, while the pro hits 600, while on the display, the air is also clocked at 60hz no promotion technology. The speakers of the air are only two and work in landscape mode, and we have an interesting comeback of the touch ID in the form of a power button integration. So, although they look very similar, the iPad Air and the 11 iPad Pro are very different. Even their internals are just as different since the air is rocking. The latest a14 chip- naturally, you might think, there's a huge performance difference, but surprisingly, there's not where the air might feel snappier for some lighter tasks and apps.

The pro with its older chip and more cores can catch up when it comes to heavy lifting. In reality, both templates are plenty powerful for pretty much anything you throw at them and if you were to make a choice right now, it shouldn't be provoked by the need or necessity of power. Your choice and your natural state of mind should always be to go for the best bang for your buck and in many cases that will be the air for the cases where the air is not. Your tablet of choice, however, are the following. First, you need a bigger tablet here.

The choice is simple, since only the pro lineup have a 12.9 inch model. As I have stated in my iPad guide, creators usually might prefer the bigger variant of the pro because of the larger screen real estate. Also, people who use the iPad as their main computer will most likely go for the 12.9 inch model as well. Second, when it comes to storage capacity, all to my surprise, the iPad Air 4 caps at 256 gigabytes. I didn't see that coming, but I guess apple is also trying to justify jumping over to the pro lineup when you want to go higher in the storage department.

Also, higher storage means more ram, and the pro is shiny here because of its six gigabyte memory instead of four. If you intend to use the tablet to consume media like movies and TV shows, the pro is clearly the one to go for, since the air has only two speakers and the sound that it produces is nowhere near what the pro has to offer the pro gets louder. It is richer and a lot more immersive. Also, for gaming. The pro is better choice because of its promotion and higher refresh rate for those of you who use the iPad as their main computer.

The pro is a no-brainer as well. If you are looking for one specific reason face ID could very well be a major one, since it speeds up your workflow every time you log in or use the keychain to make payments. It might sound silly, but on a day-to-day basis, this speeds up productivity. A lot sure touch ID is good on the air, but it is nowhere as convenient and as quick as face ID to stir things up a bit more as we go up the pricing of the iPad Air, where we have only one level until the final boss, which is 256 gigabytes. The pricing difference between the air and the pro are going down where the Wi-Fi air is 749 and the pro is 8.99 so to simplify the situation. Let's look at it this way.

If we go for 256 gigabyte storage capacity, we are talking about 150 dollars to spare. The question you should ask yourself is: if 150 dollars are enough to cover your potential need of a wide angle, camera LIDAR, sensor, better front facing camera, face ID pro motion a bit more brightness and better sound for all those listed I'd cross off all irrelevant and only leave the promotion face ID and better sound, because I believe that is all that matters. What do you think before? I tell you what I think and show you my purchasing guide? I'd like to take a minute and thank today's video sponsor paperlike, who provide the only iPad accessory that I would recommend to any iPad owner. Paperlike is a screen protector designed to do so much more than just protecting your iPad screen from the element. If you are an avid apple, pencil user, paperlike is definitely your next best friend, because with it the unnatural feel of using the pencil on a glass surface disappears, and you end up drawing and sketching on your tablet as if you do that on a real paper artist all over the world prefer the precision and tactile feel of using paper like it is optimized to create the ideal amount of friction for extended drawing sessions and the right stroke resistance for optimal accuracy.

If you are like me, and you write a lot, paperlike also helps reduce muscle fatigue caused by writing on a glass tablet and make your iPad feel just like a notebook to top it all. This protector enhances your viewing experience and eliminates the nasty fingerprints thanks to the matte anti-glare finish paper like ships worldwide for free with a hundred percent satisfaction guarantee. So to get your hands on your own paper like hit the link in the description below so here's what I'd recommend when it comes to the iPad Air? If you are okay with the base, 64 gigabyte storage, I am 100 sure that you'll be just as okay with all the features that the iPad Air 4 provides without putting too much thought of what the 11-inch iPad Pro has to offer. If you want to go specifically for 128 gigabytes of storage, the pro is your only choice, but it's still 50 dollars more on top of a fully specked out air 4, with 256 gigabytes of storage, so for both 128 and 256 gigabyte needs go for the iPad Air unless promotion and sound quality are really important to you as well as face ID for the majority of people. However, the air is perfect.

If you want to go above 256 gigabytes, the choice is clear: the iPad Pro this is the current stage of the iPad Air, almost caught up to the pro in many angles, but temporary apple is always pushing the boundaries of technology, primarily in their most expensive and exclusive segment in recent years. That is the pro segment, which means that this overlap and conundrum is temporary until the new pro lineup comes along distinguishing itself yet again from the current iPad Air 4. But for now, if none of the above stated factors are your factors. Luckily, for many of us, the air is the perfect pro.
