Huawei Mate 40 Pro 5G Hands-On | Unboxing & Early Review 🔥

In this video, we have something pretty special planned for you, guys so make sure you watch the whole video all right. So I just finished meeting up with Eugene- and I have both phones right in here, so I'm really excited to go back home and do the unboxing for this and share with you guys. So, let's get to that. So, let's begin with some good old unboxing, which is pretty much what we're here for right now we got two versions of the phone: the black and the mystic silver. What we're going to be taking a look at for the unboxing is gonna, be the black, but we're also looking at the mystic silver a little later getting into the box. That is the phone itself.

As you can see, the design on it is very different, unique from what we've seen before the cameras are actually on the ring at the back. You can see the Lacey branding itself, so it's kind of cool looking when you look at it first glance very different: you have the sim card ejector tool and also the clear case included with the box. The circle is slightly bigger than usual, because that camera is located on the ring. Now you also get a 66 watt fast charger a little on this later, because this thing is quite impressive for speed. You also get headphones with a type c included because there's no headphone jack and also the type c cable.

Obviously, now, let's look at the phone itself pulling it out. You can see that it is very, very premium looking, but that also means a lot of fingerprints expected from this. The design overall looks really great. I really like how it looks even the front having two cameras. It looks really, really nice.

Now the power button and the volume rockers are located on the right of the phone at the top. You've got the speakers and the microphone on the bottom. You have type c sim card, ejector tool and bottom facing speakers, and that's the mystic silver variant. We told you we're going to show you both and side by side. They look gorgeous.

Like I said it's a very premium finish to it. You get a bunch of colors when you look at it separately. Both designs are very different. Unique! Look very nice as well to the eye I like how the camera is located on the ring itself and not inside it, like other phones have done, and it looks and feels very, very good at hand. Now, let's get into the phone itself before I could even play with the phone Eugene told me, he'll give it to me with 1 battery just to see how quickly we can charge this and that's exactly what I did with the 66 watt charger.

That's included! Now, let's look at the time when I started the charge and when I finished we started at about 8 45, and you can see the charge finishes at 9 28. So just in about 40 minutes, 45 minutes you get a full charge out of this very quick, very fast fingerprint sensor located within the screen, and it's very quick and snappy. You also get a 3d face ID that works really well, whatever angle you're, looking at it from it's going to unlock your phone, it works really well, as you guys can see the front sensing, for it is perfect. Unlocking the phone is actually very, very quick compared to some of the phones we've seen now. Let's talk about the specs on the model that we had.

We got the 8gb ram, 256 GB of storage. The UI it's running is emu 11. The always on display on this is really fun, really interactive. It only animates when you're looking at the screen, really cool design, very cool touch to it to make it feel a little more active and alive. The screen display tapers over the edges.

You have that curved display for people who, like this, will really like this uh speaking of the display. We set it up to have 90 hertz of refresh rate constantly, rather than smart display, because we want to test out that that quick, refresh rate that quick snappy performance- and it definitely has that the snappiness is very quick. It feels very immersive and usability is really great. Consuming content on this 6.7 inch, full HD plus OLED display feels amazing. You have an 88 degree curve on the screen as well, so you have that full immersion if you're, watching Netflix or movies on this, if you're into that curved screen, but the dpi and everything other color production is really great from this.

The reason they went for a 90hz rather than a 120 is for battery performance. Let's move to the app gallery pretty much any application that you'd want to install is possible to get on the app gallery. However, if it isn't found there, petal search makes it really easy for you to get access to that application. All you have to do is search for it on pedal, search, it'll, give you the APK, and it's that easy you can just install it right away right. There, no hassle whatsoever not like it was earlier, and you won't really feel that need for the Google services once you have.

This integrated feels perfect. Now, if you guys have watched the video so far, we want to take a quick little second to thank you guys for helping us reach 30 000 subscribers. We wouldn't have been here without any of you guys supporting us now, let's head towards that, 50 000 subscriber count, and let's just go up from there. Now we couldn't get any benchmark tests as of now because it's still early on, but the performance can be compared to the snapdragon 865 from Qualcomm, even beating that, by a little of a margin, as I was told now, you could probably compare to the 865, but that's yet to see, and we'll find out more on that with later release off the phone. Now, let's talk about the camera, which is the big hitter with this one at the back of the phone, you have a 50 megapixel, ultra vision, camera you have a 20 megapixel ultra-wide, a 12, megapixel, telephoto lens and also a laser camera for quick autofocus.

So, even though it looks like there's, four cameras, there's actually three, the first pictures of my bird as you can see the quality retention and detail on this is remarkable, as we've seen. ACR performance as well always looks good on Huawei phones, their HDR is really killer, and in this version, they've really improved on their HDR capabilities, 50 megapixels versus a regular shot. You can see right there. The comparison side by side portrait mode has been improved. You can take portraits up to three times in zoom.

This is one x you can move on to five x imported zoom as well as you can see the HDR skin tones look perfect. Even the ultra-wide has been improved, as you can see, there's no distortion, usually ultra white will distort your facial features. Looks really weird if you take an ultra white, but this has autocorrection using AI and it kind of fixed that, for you, the front camera can take three levels of zoom as well. You have a regular. You can go from this zoom to this zoom, all the way to the ultra zoom, where it is like kind of zooms out and shows you the whole scene together.

So you can see that 1x capability and the ultra-wide capability with the front camera as well. The details and color reproduction on the image is really great as well now, even looking at a macro capability shot, it looks perfect. The details are crazy. Let's look at some nighttime mode. Shots with this nighttime for Huawei is an easy win.

They do it so well nighttime performance with the ultra-wide lens. Even the 1x lens you can see. There's pretty much. No noise, visible sharpness is great. HDR is great.

Colors, look, really great. Zoom goes up to 50 times periscope hybrid zoom, as you can see, that is pretty far, and the amount of detail you retain is crazy as well starting image on the left with the ultrawide and the telephoto on the right, no loss of quality whatsoever. It looks really, really good guys. The zoom is perfect on this. Let's talk about the ISO in the pro mode.

This is absolutely crazy. It goes up to 409 600 ISO, which is crazy for a phone. This dark spot could be turned into this bright spot. It's even kind of overexposed. At this point it can go really, really bright all right.

So this is the front camera video recording test. The sound and video you're hearing are all from the mate 40 pro we're recording at 4k 30 fps with the front camera. As you guys can see, you should be able to see a lot more detail in my beard than regular 1080, even on the material on the shirt. The sound quality that you're hearing is coming straight from this as well, which is really cool, and so far it looks very nice on camera. You can actually switch lenses.

Even when you're doing front cameras, you can go from white to super wide to the regular which is built in, and then you can go one x as well, so this crops in a little more depending on your situation. If you want to show more of your scene, you have more people with you. I don't have friends, but if you do, you can put them in this, and it looks pretty good right. So this is now the back camera recording at 4k 30 fps. What you're seeing is the image quality coming from that, and also the audio coming straight from the phone itself, uh image, quality wise.

It looks pretty good on screen, as I can already tell. I have a mirror behind you guys by the way say hello. Next, for all you creators out there they've added in the story mode where the story boarding, the music, the editing, is all done for you. All you have to do is point and shoot. You literally have guides on how to shoot as well, and I'll show you how to turn the camera for you.

Let's check out these two examples. I shot now. Obviously, there's a lot of features that we could not show you in this video just because of that time restriction that we had, but it has really great features integrated within it, that we would love to explore with the full review that we'll probably do sometime in the near future. If things like, the golden snap, that removes shadows removes passersby removes reflections from the image high image quality in low light, you also have that ultra-wide angle, distortion control with intelligent AI recognition. They even have a tracking capability where it zooms in and tracks for you automatically on a wide image, it'll zoom in and kind of keep you in focus the whole time really great stuff coming out of.

It really excited to share this video once we do have a proper hands-on on this, and that's about it, guys that is our first impressions, unboxing and early review of the Huawei Mate 40 pro 5g a little difficult. We had just two hours with it, but we try to get as much information for you guys as possible within this period, do as many tests as possible within this period as well.
