How to Check if iPhone is Refurbished or New?

Hey guys welcome to my new video iPhones are expensive, but sometimes you get a very good deal online, and you wonder how it's even possible in this video I'll, give you a simple tip how to find out if your iPhone is original or if it's refurbished and also, if it's a replacement unit by Apple. So let's start the video, but before I start kindly subscribe to my channel and also hit the bell icon, so you will get notified every time. I, post, a new video one of the best thing with iPhones is that you can find out all the necessary information inside your iPhone itself, but not everyone knows about it. So, let's check out this iPhone now this is an iPhone 11. It was bought in Yew. But how do I find out about this iPhones authenticity? All you need to do is go to the settings, go to general click on about so usually we all check by the serial number or the IMEI number.

But surprisingly, most important information is saved in the model number itself. Now, usually, what people do they always check? The serial number? They type the serial number in Apple website to check the authenticity and the warranty, but that's not an accurate way to find out whether the device is a refurbish unit or if it's a replacement unit or if it's a personalized one, the most accurate way to find out. You can check it from the model number. So when you click on the model number you can see, this is the device model number a triple to one. Now the device which are released and launched in us will have a different model number.

Then the device which is international version. When you click again, you will have this model number starting with M. Now the most important thing over here is the starting letter. Now, the starting letter it can be either M F, N or P, so the model number either can start from letter M, which is over here. You can see this device is starting from letter M.

Now, what does M mean when you have an iPhone which has a model number starting from letter? M? It means your iPhone is a new device which was purchased from Apple Store online or any other Apple retail store. So this definitely certifies that. So, basically, if you have an iPhone with a model number starting with letter M, you should be really happy that this is a genuine new device by Apple. Now, in second scenario, you might have a model number starting from letter n. It means that your iPhone is a replacement device.

It was replaced by Apple or Apple authorized service center due to a problem now replacement iPhones are usually refurbished device as well. Now let me explain this in a very simple way. Suppose you bought an iPhone from Apple, and it has a warranty, and you have Apple Care and something goes wrong with your device and the device is under warranty. You complain to Apple that a speaker is not working, or the camera has some issue or something wrong with the display. In this scenario, Apple will give you a replacement device and take your device back now.

This is a tricky one, because I'm not very sure about this Apple might give you a brand-new device, or they might give you a device which was slightly used, but everything is working. Fine and I must tell you that Apple does give you a warranty for the replacement device. Also, now coming back to the third and the most common used um refurbished. So suppose your model number is starting from letter F. It means that this is a refurbished device.

Now refurbished devices are very common, so, for example, you bought a device from Apple, and it has some issue. You give the device back to Apple and you get a replacement device, but the device which you give back to Apple. They will fix that device. If supposed, there was an issue with the camera or the speaker or the touchscreen or something else they will fix it for that they need to open the device and Apple does sell refurbished device on a slightly cheaper price on their online website in different countries, and Apple also give you warranty for the refurbished device. Now this is all done by Apple.

So basically, a refurbished device is the one which has been opened. There are some issues with the device which has been fixed, but there is no guarantee that it's gonna work well in the future. It might work. Well, it might not that's why Apple gives you warranty for the refurbished device. Also, on the second hand, you have refurbished device sold by online retailers, so there are a lot of devices which get assemble.

They get from different countries, and they sell it online. So if you have a device which has a model number starting from F my advice to ignore that device and return it back, you are never sure how the battery is gonna work, how the camera is gonna work, you might face some issue, you might not face, but again, a refurbished device is a device which has been fixed either by Apple or by another service center. That is why always the refurbished devices are quite cheaper, and usually you get refurbished device in the market, at least after six months of the device launch and the last one is if the model number is starting from P, which is very rare, like out of 100%, maybe 5% of the cases where you have a model number starting with P letter Apple does sell some devices with a personalized embossing. So basically it means that your iPhone is personalized device, which means that the device has a personalized engraving. Now Apple does sell some devices some iPads iPods and iPhones, which has a personalized message written or engraved.

Now again, as I said, it's a very rare chance, you will get something like that: nine out of ten times either you will get a replacement new device or a refurbished one. The personalized devices are very few the market. So that's all for this video guys, I hope. The video was helpful if you are an iPhone user.
