Google Pixel 4a unboxing: all the phone you need, just $349!

Hey folks welcome to another day another unboxing. Yes, this is the Google Pixel 4a. It just landed, and I thought I'd do an unboxing for you. So that's what the box looks like. There's a Google logo here, another google logo here, here's the side of the phone, nothing too much in the back hashtag team, pixel. There are some images down here, pretty much what you'd expect.

So, let's start peeling things off, shall we and taxa now what you've been waiting for, what we've all been waiting for since the league started in February now, don't dun, I like the little insert in here: here's the phone- let's put it aside and have a look at the rest of the box for a second here's, a divider documentation. We've got probably the usual stuff safety, warranty, sim removal tool and the manual very simple manual tells you everything you need to know right here and in Spanish. All right. You've got an 18 watt charger, USB type c, here's all the specs. For you not sure if you can read that.

Then we have a cord USB c to USB pretty standard fare, and then we have a to c adapter which I'm not going to pull out because apparently it's trapped in there. This is for connecting a type, a cord like from an iPhone to the type c. So you can transfer all your stuff if you're switching from another phone- and you don't want to do it wirelessly. So there you go pretty standard fare for a pixel phone. Here is the phone.

Yes, let's remove this packaging whoa, that's it! They didn't protect the back at all. So let's turn it on and let me walk you through some specs, as you can clearly immediately see. This is a huge improvement in terms of modern design and modern, look and feel versus last year's Pixel 3a, because you have a 5.8 inch.1080P AMOLED, 60 hertz display with a hole, punch, camera cut out so very little bezels. Overall, it's actually the same as the iPhone 11 you get like equal amounts of bezel a little more for the bottom here. So you know because of the chin, because unfortunately, somehow android phone manufacturers still haven't mastered a way to do this.

You know of making it equal size all the way around Apple has we're not sure why it's taking android manufacturers so long. Oh, this is pretty and there's your startup screen. So again, this is just an unboxing. I'm not here to set up the phone. You should stay tuned.

I will have a full review on hot hardware and, of course, I'll have lots of photos and samples, and all that and if you're tuning in right now to this video this week later, I will have a full review of this on my podcast at mobiletechpodcast. com. So what do you get besides this display? This camera appears an 8 megapixel f of a 2.0 1.12 micron front-facing camera, nothing to write home about, but it's fine. Then there is a display under the hood is a snapdragon 730 g. This is a big improvement over the snapdragon 670 that was in the Pixel 3a there's also six gigs of ram and 120 gigs of storage.

That's not bad! That's actually more than the pixel 3 was so never mind the 3a. So that's a big improvement. I think that's going to help a lot. Then there is a 3 140 William hour battery in this thing. So that's what it looks like in the back under there is the battery there's no wireless charging coil.

This is a plastic unibody finish. It is black. That's the only color! You get a choice from there's a fingerprint sensor in the back, and I can immediately tell this doesn't seem or feel quite as premium as the plastic unibody and the 3a. Don't get me wrong. It's nice, but the 3a really felt like it was just a super high quality, pretty much machine polar, where I think this feels like it's molded to me.

You know it's got this nice little soft touch finish. That makes it easier to hold. I mean that's all good and welcome, but it doesn't feel quite as fancy as the 3a did somehow and of course not nearly as fancy as the more expensive pixels that are glass and metal google logo here and then there's a camera pod. It actually is only a single camera in here it's the same 12 megapixels, we've seen on the 4 3 and 3a. As I said, it's a 12 megapixel f of a 1.7 1.4 micron with is. That's pretty awesome.

They kept the is on this. We've got a flash here and that's pretty much it for the back. Let me walk you through the edges on the right hand, side here, you've got the power lock key in this nice teal green, blueish, color, very cool, very google you've got the volume rocker as well and below here on the bottom. You've got the USB type-c port and a speaker and microphone. There's actually a mono speaker here, but it's actually the right channel.

There's another mono speaker in the earpiece up here. That's the left channel, so that actually makes it stereo speakers which is really cool. I don't think we've seen that on a cheap phone in a while, on the left-hand side, you really don't have anything other than the sim tray here. There's no micro, SD expansion and the exciting news is on top. You still have the headphone jack from the 3a secondary microphone.

So that's it! That's the layout for this Pixel 4a, it's also a small phone which really feels nice in hand. It's about the same footprint as the iPhone SE 2020, so yeah, it's actually pretty cool. I think um, I'm looking forward to this upgrading processor upgrading ram, accurate in storage upgrading display all for the 50 less than last year's 3a. That's exciting, of course, same great camera same great software same great, google features all the stuff you expect so folks. That's it! That's a quick unboxing of the Pixel 4a stay tuned I'll have more content.
