What's going on folks the share, J, and I'm back with another video, and it's time to talk about the battery life on the pixel for Excel. Now as I, do this video I'm going to go ahead and pop up the my actual numbers in this video, so you can actually see as I talk about the battery life. So battery life for me has been fine, no problems with when I first started off like on the first two days. The battery life wasn't the best and I must because it was going through the setup it was settling in or whatever and it just it lasted about, maybe 16 hours or so, and you know grabbing like 5 hours of screen on time, which is actually pretty good for the screen on time. However, you know being off of the charger: I wasn't a fan of that having a charge in the middle of the day by day 3 or by the end of day, 2 I start to see the real battery life and here's. What I did I turned off the live, wallpaper and I think that alone gave me a boost in battery I.
Didn't do anything different I just turned off the live wallpaper and my battery life went up to a full day of battery like almost 6 hours of screen on time and I could probably couldn't get. I can probably get more than 6 hours of screen on time, but, more importantly, was off the charger for 24 hours, which is really important to me, because I don't want to be on the charger twice in a day. You know saying: because I don't charge my phones overnight. If they don't need charging like. If it's got 40% left I'm, just gonna, you know use it as it's no I'm saying just go on to the next day.
That's just how I do it with the battery life, but I have to tell you. Those numbers to me are acceptable. Definitely passable, because I think the phone is. Obviously the phone is still brand new. You know, so it's its going to need some time to settle in and get broken down to.
My usage so I feel like this battery on this going to get even better. The pixel 3, with updates actually got better on battery as well, and it just did very, very well. The battery life on those older devices is perfect and the three the 3a exhale battery is just killer. It's really solid, so I would say that if you decide to get the pixel for Excel, I can't speak for the pixel, for if you get the pixel for Excel, you should be comfortable with that battery. You then remember, though, disclaimer battery depends on you and what you're doing on your phone I have 124 apps on the phone.
Total I only put apps on my phone that I'm, actually gonna use and in the hundred 24. Some of those are the system apps, the Google apps. It's not something that I put on but yeah, there's 124, total apps on the phone and I got to tell you the battery life. Isn't what I thought it was going to be I thought it was gonna, be like that first day, I wasn't getting like six and a half seven out of screen on time. However, I mean this is a quad HD display, and it is this 90 Hurst display.
So those things you know definitely take a hit on the battery, but optimization is key to getting good battery. So sometimes the size of the battery doesn't play as big apart as we think it does. It's that optimization, so I'm gonna battery petitions for this phone is I'm gonna, be a beginning like six hours of screen on time and making it through a full day, and that is pretty much what I'm doing right now getting 24 hours in like 5 hours and 45 minutes, it's really consistent 5 hours and 50 minutes 5 hours and 40 minutes. That's acceptable. The reason being is that I really like the way this phone feels in the hand the software is very nice to me, and I'm excited about being able to get this stock Android experience, and it is just all around a fantastic phone from my usage right now, I mean I like stock Android, and I'll get into the software in another video.
But the way this is put together, I'm enjoying it more now than I did on the first day of having it because the battery was it was I would have 6 hours of screen. I would have six hours of battery or something like that or five hours of battery with two hours of screen on time, and it was just it was a really close, but I know that's just a set-up phase, but I don't know if you have your pixel. If you are a consumer, if you're, not a tech reviewer, and you have the pixel for when watching this video depend on when you're watching this video, you know, you'll be you'll, be confident commenting at different times. You know saying throughout the year, but at the recording of this video we're in October 2019, so the phone is just releasing, so I'm, really hoping that some people can chime in on their battery life again. I, don't really want to hear too much from tech.
Reviewers I want to hear from the consumers that actually purchased this phone, because a lot of consumers purchase this phone I do want to hear from tech. Reviewers I don't mean, don't give me your battery stats, but I'm looking for more importantly, the people who, because everybody uses a phone differently and consumers, don't really have a voice like tech reviewers. Sometimes you guys can only comment in the sitcom. I mean get your voice in the comment section on threads and things like that. So I'm really hoping that a lot more consumers chime in then can Integral viewers, because techies tend to use multiple phones.
For me, when I'm doing a review of a phone I only use that phone with my primary SIM card in here I, don't like my notice over there, the iPhones over there. All these are the phones that I use over there. My primary SIM card is in this device, and it's going to stay that way for some time to come, because there's no other phone, so I technically have to review that I know of at the moment when, if a phone comes out, it'll have to be in the second Sam until I finish at least 30 days with this phone, because I saw a pretty much been doing it with the phones 30 days, and you know, I can give you some review depending on which phone it's now. The iPhone I did that in about two and a half three weeks, but I do have a review of I'll save it, but battery life is always dependent on the user. You have to remember that, and what I want to understand is the pixel X pixel for Excel has that 90 Hertz display I feel the same way.
I did about it with the OnePlus I. Don't really see this big impact on how smooth the phone is, but they're just moving in and out of apps. But my point in saying that is that's going to take a hit on your battery, just like it does for the OnePlus, so I say to you. I, say this to say: this phone has good battery, and it's acceptable to I can deal with 6 hours of screen on time in 24 hours since I last charged it that's killer battery. It's a man in jail because enjoyed a battery update on this phone I will try me down the line and give you another battery update.
But for me right now, the pixel for Excel has great battery for what it's offering with a 3700 William hour battery, and then you also have this 90 Hertz display these live wallpapers. These interactive wallpapers I'm, pretty sure that helped me by turning that off, because the battery was sipping really quick with those live wallpapers on such man in general, you guys enjoyed. This is the pencil for Excel. This is my experience with the battery. How was yours see you in the next one? Take care team pixel.
Let's get it.
