Google Pixel 2 vs Pixel 2 XL

Okay so Google has announced two new smartphones this week, the world pixel two and the Google Pixel to excel. Now there are quite a few differences between the two, apart from the obvious size difference. So here's everything you need to know between who will pixel two and a pixel to excel everything when it comes to the display, the camera, specs special features, battery price storage and so much more now. Actually, the two similar videos comparing the pixel two versus the iPhone eight and a pixel two versus the note II. So in case you haven't seen those a, and you're interested in seeing those the link for This is in the description but yeah for now we're up some popcorn and enjoy so one of the main differences between those two phones is going to be the design. So the pixel 2 comes with a 5-inch display and a pixel to excel comes with a 6-inch display.

So the crystal 2 is going to be more compact in your hand and easier to use in one hand now interesting enough. There isn't that much difference in size when it comes to these two phones, so the pixel to Excel is taller and eat by one point: two centimeters, it's wider by seven millimeters, and it's also thicker by 0.1 millimeters. But that's not a lot. Considering that you know quite significant display size increase that you're getting with a pixel to Excel notice, because the pixel 2 still has the same thick bezels as the original Google Pixel the pixel to excel. However, this one comes with a major redesign.

However, it's not completely basal is. So if you take a look at a galaxy s 8 now the Galaxy S, a plus the note 8 or not even to mention the iPhone 10, the pixel to excel, actually seems to have some fairly thick bezels. Also, the pixel 2 comes with a 68% screen to body ratio, whereas the pixel to excel this one comes with a 60 s: 76.4% screen to buy a ratio. Now this is actually quite low and compared to something like the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus, which comes with 84%. By the way.

Now, when comes to the colors, we get 3 colors on the pixel 2, so we have just black clearly white and kind of blue, which I mean it kinda is you know this is not Villa. This is like kind blue and then on the pixel to excel this one doesn't come in blue, so sorry, kind of blue. So we have the same color. It's just not the kind of blue one. Now what about the display? Well, apart from the display size, difference which I've already mentioned so five inches versus six inches on the pixels of Excel, there's also a few more other significant differences that I want to mention so starting off with the resolution.

First, on the pixel ?, we have 1080 P so 1920 by 1080, which actually translates to a PPI of 441. Now on the pixel to Excel, we have 28 80 by 1440, which translates to a big guy of 538. So if you care about VR, especially now that Google has launched its second generation of daydream, VR well, the pixel to Excel is going to be a much, much better choice. Then the pixel ? comes with an AMOLED display, whereas the pixel to excel comes with app Oh LED display. So what does mean is that the pixel twos displays made by Samsung and the pixel ? excels display is made by LG's or technologies developed by those two companies.

Now they both have a 100,000 to 1 contrast ratio, which is crazy, so they both have the same contrast ratio. So this should be pretty similar when it comes to quality. The only major difference between the two and display panels is that the P o LED display can actually be thinner because you know P comes from plastic. You don't need glass in a purely to display and can be thinner than older displays. But that's that's the main difference.

Now they both come with an always-on display. So you can see all of your notifications. You can see the time even when the display is off, and they also support something really, really cool. So this is called automatic music detection. Well, I.

Don't think it's actually called this, but basically, when the pixel ?, when the pixel twos hear a song playing in a background, you will automatically see the title on the always-on display. What are you having to do anything you don't have to search for ? song, nothing. It will just appear there on the always-on display. Definitely one of my favorite features in a smartphone ever now performed is the pixel ? Excel comes with an 18 by 9 aspect ratio display, whereas the pixel 2 comes with. You know the standard 16 by 9 of 16 by 9 aspect ratio display.

So this means that you do get to see more content on the pixel ? Excel versus the pixel -. But at the same time, if you're watching videos, you will actually be getting those black bars on the top and on the bottom, and you can obviously crop in. But then you will, you know, crop the image as well. So, overall, it's still a better display on a pixel to excel, since you do get to see more stuff in apps when your webbed and on homepage. Okay, what else? Well, the pixel to excel also features a 3d display versus a 2.5, the glass display on a pixel -. So what does this mean? Well, it's not a 3d displayed just the glass.

It just means rounded corners on a pixel to excel. That's, basically it and arguing that the pixel 2 comes with 95% DCI p3 color space coverage versus 100% by the way on the pixel 3xl, so yeah overall, the pixel to Excel definitely does have a better display. So you get to see 5% more colors on a pixel to excel. So it's about our display on the pixels of Excel, but not that much of a difference. To be honest.

Okay, now, when it comes to cameras, these two cameras are basically identical, so we have a single lens camera module on the back. We have an 12.2 megapixel sensor, F 1.8 aperture, and we have something really cool. So we have optical image. Stabilization and E is all or electronic image stabilization, which rage' code basically uses the gyroscope inside your phone to stabilize the footage and the pixel one already had the most stable video footage that I've ever seen on a smartphone. That's on the pixel one out of pixel to pixel one didn't have, oh! Is that because the pixel 2 does have it so yes, stabilization is gonna, be even more impressive on a pixel two.

If then on the pixel 1, then when it comes to autofocus, we have dual pixel, plus laser autofocus, which is a huge improvement from the pixel one, and we also have portrait mode, which is pretty interesting to see because those phones don't come with the dual camera module. So instead it actually uses the dual pixels on the sensor and from what I've seen the results are really, really impressive, so they looked perfect. Obviously, this is also software assisted, since you don't have dual camera modules, but from what I've seen they actually look pretty good. Now, moving on to the front-facing camera, we have an 8 megapixel sensor on both F 2.4 aperture and 1080p. Video recording at 30 frames per second and then when it comes to video, recording and features we have 4k video at 30 frames per second, so no 4k, 16, fortunately, and 720p at 240, slow motion, so no 4k 60, unfortunately under Google Pixel, but again stabilization is just crazy, honest thing and when it comes to special features in terms of the camera, we have live photos on both.

Obviously we have air functionality, so Google set up this camera. Something calibrated for error. Obviously, at the moment, Android, AR or Google's AR is not as advanced as Apple's air kit, but maybe that will change in the future. At the moment, AR on iOS is just so much better and then finally, one of the unique and coolest features of Google phones, Google Pixel phones is unlimited photo and video storage and Google photos until 2020 bio at full resolution. So you can store at full resolution all of your photos in 4k videos for free until 2020.

In the cloud now moving on to the specs, we have exactly the same specs on both, so we have 4 gigabytes of RAM and they both have the snapdragon 835 processors. So this is an optical processor based on a 10-meter process. It's 64 bits, and it also comes with four high-performance cords. That's three point: $35 each and then for low performance cords of 1.9 carats each now the Snapdragon 835 is the same processor that you get in all high-end Android smartphones out there. So that includes the U.

S. versions of the s8 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, for example. But honestly, the best part about pixel phones has always been their fluidity. So fickle phones are the most fluid Android smartphones that you can get since you can get to your know perfect. You get a perfect stock, Android experiences with zero bloat, where everything is really well optimized, and on top of all this, you get three years.

Yes, three years of continued updates on day one now, this is compared to Samsung, which is usually close to one year behind when it comes to software updates, sometimes even more than that. Sometimes that don't even offer updates so big difference when it comes to pixel films and any other Android phone out there. So if you care about updates, definitely go with the pixels now when it comes to special features, we get exactly the same features on both, so that's ip67 water-resistant. Finally, we have dual front speakers. Finally, on both, we also have no headphone jack.

By the way this has been removed and interesting enough. We don't get headphones included in the box. Why no headphones in the box? Well, you know it's obviously cheaper to ship, but yeah. We don't have that phones in the box. We do get them adapter by USB, c2, 3.5, millimeter, headphone, jack, adapter and then something pretty interesting is that we have squeezable edges on both. So if we, if you squeeze the edges on the pixel to any pixel to excel, you actually activate Google Assistant, and then you can adjust different levels of pressure for that squeeze function.

Now when it comes to battery this is where we get another difference between the two. So the pixel two comes with a twenty 700 millibars battery, which is quite significant for such a small phone. If you think about it and then the pixel to excel this one comes with a 3500 20 millibars battery so bring a big difference between two now considering that they do have the same processor, exactly the same processor. The pixel to Excel should obviously last a longer, but keep in mind that a pencil to Excel also has a larger display, which is also a much higher resolution display, both of which would actually consume more power, so expect the battery life to be about the same on the pixel to excel. As you know, the pixel two, maybe a tiny bit better on the pixel to excel now, we've gone to the storage.

We get exactly the same storage options on both so 64 gigabytes as the baseline option and then 128 as the second option, with no possibility to expand this further. With a micro SD card like you can on a Samsung Galaxy s, 8, for example, on the note 8. So you don't get that so 64 and 128. Okay. Now, when it comes to the price for a 64 gigabytes baseline model, the pixel 2 starts at 650 dollars or six thirty pounds and a pixel 2 XL starts at eight fifty dollars or 800 pounds, so the pixel 2 XL is $200 or 170 pounds more expensive than the pixel 2.

So considering all this, which one you guys get that's, if you should get any of these well, they both have overall the same features and the same functionality. The pixel to Excel obviously has a large display, a better display and also a much more modern design and, of course, a larger battery. Since it's also a larger phone, so I would say, go with a pixel to excel so the Samsung Galaxy, s8 plus, and the note 8 they do have a better design by the way. So, if you prefer to stock Android experience, and they want updates, then Google Pixel phones are definitely enjoy going. If you prefer something that comes with, you know, a more impressive design, such as the SI, the note 8 and so on.

They also have more features than those phones would be. I would still suggest going with a pixel just because of my software experience, but aren't in that check out my honor in deaf comparisons by the way between different smartphones, the pixel 2 and gave on 8 and Sam Sibelius 8, and also my ultimate camera reviews and my ultimate speed tests. If you want to see more interesting videos similar to this future scribe, trying to see more detailed tech videos and also in a multi vacation, so that you get notified as soon as a new video comes out, feel free to go 0 like if I've enjoyed it. So let me know- and also let me know in the comments. What do you guys think about a pixel to any pixel to excel? Do you think they're worth it think or not, considering that the Evan, a lot of you know, features that other smartphones have like dual camera modules for optical zoom? They also act or charging.

So do you think that those features? The lack of those features? Are you know a pretty big negative point to my Casey dos? Well, let me order comments. What you guys think are in that this is doing pretty much it. So thank you all for making it to know the end. I'm, Daniel and I'll see you guys in my next one set off back something else. Cheers.
